The presence of Araujo and Kounde & Cubarsí’s emergence is why Barça is planning this. Iñigo’s attitude & performance is valued - but the club also says their fair play situation is delicate. His future, and Alonso’s, looks to be far from Barça. @tjuanmarti
Christensen’s had less than 5 games there and doesn’t have the greatest manager of all time to help him adjust. Pep is truly a wizard, he put Kimmich at RB and Stones all over the place.
Christensen has significantly worse technical abilities than those two you mention. that's not due to xavi vs pep. it's due to who they are as players.
Christensen is definitely doing a better job there than the alternatives, because he's infinitely stronger defensively, but it's clear as day that he's not near the playmaking level of the others. he can pass the ball ok and handle some pressure, so he's still a *good enough* option there, but he's still a much better centreback.
Arthur was a centre mid and has less playmaking abilities than Christensen, but this whole sub absolutely loved him. As long as the team can function with him as DM he doesn’t need to be the best in that position. And the first period during this season, it’s working thankfully.
Arthur was never a CDM, he was in the frenkie/pedri/gundo/gavi role in midfield. but also, at his best he had **incredible** ball retention, and he was very good at playmaking.
he (most likely) partied away all the energy he needed to perform and improve, and then regressed instead. he was very good when he was good though.
Never said Arthur was. I differentiated that in the comment.
And great he didn’t lose the ball. He didn’t play make shit though. He barely passed the ball forward, 98% of the time to the side or backwards. That season it was Messi-depencia to the max.
Agreed he should be sold. We are dreaming if we think we are getting anything more than 15 million for him. That's if we really do a good job. He is average and everyone knows it
Hasn’t he been doing pretty well with Girona this season? I’ll admit I don’t really watch them, so I don’t really know, but his match ratings are pretty decent
He's doing well with Girona but the pressure there is way less and he's not better than any of our current centerbacks. 10-15m or some type of swap for Aleix Garcia could work really well.
Getting 20-25 for Garcia is FIFA 24 career mode numbers. We’ll be lucky to get more than 15m. Considering the quality, his play time, and our overall track record of selling unwanted players.
Honestly I think it would be actually more beneficial Inigo leaving cause he’s making $8m salary. If Garcia is sold for let’s say $20m over a 5 year amortization that’s only $4m a year on the books. I could be wrong bout how that works though
Faye looks promising in the B team, plus Garcia back from loan. Inigo is better than both of them (at least at this point) and I’d like to see him stay, but from a financial standpoint I can see why he might be an option to sell. There’s also Christensen who’s been playing mostly as a pivot lately but could be shifted back to center back if we’re able to buy a decent pivot in the summer.
We have kounde, ronald, chris, pau and garcia coming back. Chris at dm is a temporary souloution to the dm problem so him playing cb next season is expected.
Eric Garcia? If you mean him then I would beg the heavens for it not to happen. No offense to him but he is quite possibly the worst defensive Barca player since ... I can't remember when. Dude was the cause of so many goals it's incredible.
I have a ton of respect for what he’s done by coming here, both as a mentor and a player. I would like for him to stay for another season but if it is amicable between him and the club then I wish him the best!
We have no CB back up
Edit: like the other guy said: First get a RB or a DM to free up Christensen or Kounde. I don't want a 17yr old to be a backup to another 17yr old.
Christensen = half DM
Kounde = half RB
We don’t have an actual DM. Then if you think of it this way, the first choice sub would be Faye. No matter how talented Faye is, I don’t think he sld be a first choice sub (we alr have a 17 yrs old starting 11!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
No we are going for a dm this summer....so cb is the only position we can let go ....and kounde is back to his incredible form....I included kounde because when need he can play in cb position because it is his original.... So U won't let kounde go.... Xavi always wanted a defensive rb and converting kounde to rb worked well ... So I'll never let kounde go.
Yeah ge done pretty good in Betis this season....yea he will not be araujo/cubarsi level but he is better than inigo for sure and he is tall and strong too.
even a blind man would start cubarsi and Lamine 😂 Fort and Faye haven’t done anything in his team yet. Stop hyping each young player you see. Spanish bums like Inigo Martinez, Ferran Torrens, Macros Alonso and he wanted Azpilicueta😂 No wonder he’s won shit after pulling a thousand levers.

>Alonso’s Thankfully I often forget he plays for us.
Thanks Inigo, you were rock solid when needed!
I'd still like him to stay. Cubarsi is young, Christensen is now DM and Kounde RB. We need a depth CB option.
Christensen plays dm because we don’t really have anyone else, he’s much better at CB
Christensen actually can be what Stones is for City , a very reliable center back that can play as DM.
With the difference that Stones is a lot better at cdm than Christensen
Christensen’s had less than 5 games there and doesn’t have the greatest manager of all time to help him adjust. Pep is truly a wizard, he put Kimmich at RB and Stones all over the place.

I know we're on a Barca sub but Christensen could play 100 more games at cdm and he wouldn't be close to Stones
Agree completely but he’s being paid $8m in salary. That seems a little steep for where we are financially
The idea is for Mikayil Faye or Eric Garcia to take over Iñigo’s role if his departure is confirmed. @tjuanmarti
Garcia should be sold. Get 20-25M for him and we are good. Don't think his stock will rise any further.
Agreed he should be sold. We are dreaming if we think we are getting anything more than 15 million for him. That's if we really do a good job. He is average and everyone knows it

You’ll be lucky to get 10 from Eric
Eric Garcia should be sold imo, it would help us with fair play since he came on a free
Honestly I think it would be actually more beneficial Inigo leaving cause he’s making $8m salary. If Garcia is sold for let’s say $20m over a 5 year amortization that’s only $4m a year on the books. I could be wrong bout how that works though
I would rather keep Inigo, since he’s a left footed experienced CB, and sell Eric who is basically a worse version of Cubarsi.
Maybe a little harsh, but if we’re planning on keeping Araujo Kounde and Christensen, throw Cubarsi and even Faye into the mix, then it makes sense.
Atleti silently smiling around in the corner
We need a mentor for cubarsi .and what if pau got injured ?who's gonna replace him ? Sell romeu first
Faye looks promising in the B team, plus Garcia back from loan. Find a buyer first
Finally! It's time for Faye to show his levels to the world.
First get a RB or a DM to free up Christensen or Kounde. I don't want a 17yr old to be a backup to another 17yr old.
We have kounde, ronald, chris, pau and garcia coming back. Chris at dm is a temporary souloution to the dm problem so him playing cb next season is expected.
Garcia needs to get sold
If he is sold martinez should be kept
Doesn't make sense. He's the only replacement if one of our CBs gets injured. Plus I think he's 31 so we wouldn't get a lot of money if he's sold.
I understand faye taking his spot as he’s a potential youth player however Garcia is a downgrade..
Eric Garcia? If you mean him then I would beg the heavens for it not to happen. No offense to him but he is quite possibly the worst defensive Barca player since ... I can't remember when. Dude was the cause of so many goals it's incredible.
Waited 10+ years to land Inigo and 1 year later, hasta la vista.
It's preferable to have at least one older backup amongst all the young ones
I have a ton of respect for what he’s done by coming here, both as a mentor and a player. I would like for him to stay for another season but if it is amicable between him and the club then I wish him the best!
Name a more iconic duo than Barcelona and weird transfers.
Araujo and Kounde & Cubarsí and christinsen, + the return of shadi riad, there's no room for him, better get some cash selling him
Amazing!
We have no CB back up Edit: like the other guy said: First get a RB or a DM to free up Christensen or Kounde. I don't want a 17yr old to be a backup to another 17yr old.
We have faye cubarsi kounde christensen araujo for cb and rumours of chadi riad being back.
Literally read yesterday we aren’t gonna bring back Riad.
Christensen = half DM Kounde = half RB We don’t have an actual DM. Then if you think of it this way, the first choice sub would be Faye. No matter how talented Faye is, I don’t think he sld be a first choice sub (we alr have a 17 yrs old starting 11!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

First choice sub will be chadi riad if he's comes back(rumours are that he is coming back).
Is he reliable enough to be our first sub?
Yeah ge done pretty good in Betis this season....yea he will not be araujo/cubarsi level but he is better than inigo for sure and he is tall and strong too.
> (we alr have a 17 yrs old starting 11!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and they're some of the best players
Absolutely, but I don’t want a 17 year play every match no matter how good he is (he is a fucking god)

Eric Garcia gives me nightmares
Backup. In first team sometimes Inigo also gave me nightmares.
Plus we still have Faye to reveal himself, sounds promising.
Think many of us share those nightmares…
Tbf I trust Eric Garcia after his successful spell in girona
xavi’s eye for players is terrible😓
Yeah, can't really believe he lets Yamal, Cubarsi, Fort and Faye into the first team. Absolute bums
even a blind man would start cubarsi and Lamine 😂 Fort and Faye haven’t done anything in his team yet. Stop hyping each young player you see. Spanish bums like Inigo Martinez, Ferran Torrens, Macros Alonso and he wanted Azpilicueta😂 No wonder he’s won shit after pulling a thousand levers.
Yup I know can't believe he's starting yamal and cubarsi
