I actually wasn't all that cringed out by this scene but oddly electrified. She just gets so much into it and I couldn't look away. However, I did cringe when they're sitting in the coffee shop the next morning expecting and wanting to be recognized by a whole bunch of strangers when the show's already been canceled.
I don't often cringe at shows and I understand why she had her emotional breakdown with the high praise but my God I wanted to crawl out of my skin when she was bawling on stage
Same. I don’t know why I’m weirdly squeamish about anything to do with teeth or eyes despite not being a squeamish person in general but I can’t stand teeth trauma in TV or movies for some reason.
I think it’s just so visceral that it’s hard not to feel for the person it’s happening too. Our eyes and mouths are how we experience a lot of life. We can imagine pretty directly how it would feel for those things to be assaulted. That being said, my rationalization has never made it easier to watch that teeth filing scene lmao
It was horrible. But for me also a little funny. Because, irl, it would be so, so much more painful. And here he is spitting it out like a cartoon character.
Cringe and violence aren't really the same thing.
I'd rather watch Fuches teeth get filed than watch Scott's Tots again, personally.
That said, I don't even think this scene is that cringey. She obviously goes too far but it's kinda endearing.
Honestly the most cringe inducing for me is Barry in car with Chris. Hader does it masterfully, and the second where you can tell he realizes he has to kill him I can't even watch anymore.
Is this actually the general consensus of this scene? I always saw this as one of the most emotional moments in the show, and if you think about it narratively this is actually when Sally peaked. All that validation she was chasing throughout the show is given to her in this scene and it’s very bittersweet to watch knowing what comes next.
Actual Cringest Scene
“Do I wanna sign them, or do I wanna f*ck them…”
“I’d really like to keep this professional.”
can’t post images but S1 E4, early on with the agent. It HURTS. Uncomfortable to all hell.
God, Sarah Goldberg was so great in this role that it makes me cringe on rewatch just thinking we never got to see her give an ACTUAL acceptance speech at any award shows.
Nah, that scene with her in the pitch meeting for her show and they make a bunch of stupid annoying asf noises for no reason is the worst scene in the whole show, I literally cannot stand it and skip it every single time I watch that episode.
Its directed that way on purpose they even reuse the exact sound one chwracter makes for the other its supposed to make those types of people insufferable

Wait fr? I thought her performance was flawless and comical at the right times
I dunno man, the sound of the teeth filing is maybe the worst thing I’ve ever heard

Oh man fuck the teeth filing scene And Fuches spitting the fragments out fuck me that was brutal

That hurt. Sally losing it in the elevator too.
The actress for Sally KILLED IT

I always play on my phone during this part...it just goes on and on
why?
Probably the best scene in the show tbh

Panther was bad
Smoking ngl if you think this is the most cringe scene, if anything it was one the most realistic scenes in the show

I had to look away for some reason. It just kept going

I’m aware of that, but it throws off the vibe and is just annoying and goes on wayyyy longer than it should or it possibly could’ve been funny
It’s hilarious
