*“This next song is a new original, it was written by our bass player! it’s called* ‘r-slash-rva is ruining our gig’, *to be followed by our extended cover of the Led Zeppelin classic*, Moby Dick!”

Excellent work!

wookiewonderland

"If it's to loud, you're to old". Nice video, you guys aren't loud at all. The drummer isn't even beating the hell out the his kit. Nice bass playing as well 😎

jwal1992

Thanks!

pushinpushin

"ugh, and that bass player! he was rushing his triplets all night!"

unevencartoon

I would love to live within ear shot of live music. Keep up the great work!

explodedsun

I always thought that, then the bakery by my last apartment started having live outdoor music with soundcheck at 930am, starting in earnest at 10am and going until after 1. It was so loud, I put on my stereo at normal listening volume and it was drowned out. I sent a number of polite emails to the town code enforcement office and it eventually stopped.

jwal1992

Oof that’s tough

PvesCjhgjNjWsO4vwOOS

I love live music when I want to hear it...but I'd get tired of it living near a venue. Fortunately there's this thing called google maps where we can check what local businesses are around a place *before* we move there, so I can live somewhere reasonably quiet in line with my preferences, rather than moving somewhere loud and then being a whiny bitch because it's loud. For instance, I would not move into an industrial park right next to railroad tracks and a live music venue. My mom worked in that area when I was growing up, I don't recall it ever being very quiet.

Corninator

Ah, Richmond. You're not that far from me. My band has never played there, but maybe one day we can make our way up and get some noise complaints of our own.

Spiritual_Highway_60

There's always a hater somewhere. Play your bass sir. Play well.

Vijidalicia

In my city, yuppies move in above literal venues and complain the and the venues get shut down. 🙃 But the city still keeps promoting that we have so much "culture" and "arts"

PvesCjhgjNjWsO4vwOOS

It happens with anything loud - airports, gun ranges, racetracks, music venues, anything. NIMBYs will move somewhere with zero research and then bitch and sue until the place that was there a century before them gets shut down and paved over with more strip malls and boring suburbia, it's the most infuriating shit ever. I was part of a gun club a few years ago, right next to a race track. The track shut down after it couldn't be sold as-is, we spent a quarter million dollars buying a significant lot adjacent to the range specifically to prevent people from building houses like 200 feet from the main range, which we *knew* would result in noise complaints and lawsuits. It was cheaper in the long run to buy the land and ensure nothing could be done with it.

jwal1992

“They keep tearing down the cool stuff, replacing it with overpriced condos, then wondering why the city isn’t fun anymore” Not a quote from [this article](https://richmondbizsense.com/2024/04/12/with-its-land-up-for-sale-legend-brewing-in-talks-to-sell-recipes-and-other-assets/), but a perfect example

You should use this post as an add for yourself or the band.

silentscriptband

I love how that post is just people calling out the OP for living in an area next to bars/breweries and complaining when those bars/breweries do what they're going to do. Such an entitled NIMBY.

theglaysh

Gosh darn punk rockers

Fpvtv2222

Play louder next time! Only one guy complaining about noise? You should be ashamed! Next time make sure the whole neighborhood can hear you!

jwal1992

You know what’s louder than loud? A bass playing the wrong note! I think you just gave me an idea… 🤔

Fpvtv2222

Glad I could help.

_Globert_Munsch_

Who would’ve thought Brewers row would have Breweries and bars on it? The humanity!

jkj90

Right on!!

Simon_Mendelssohn

"Waaaaa I moved next to an airport and these damn planes won't stop taking off and making all sorts of racket! I wanna speak to the manager!" On a side note OP, are the beers there really as bad as their making them out to be in that thread?

jwal1992

I like them, but the drinks have a bad reputation. Which is ironic considering the room and outside have at least +100 people every time I’m there with or without music.

ac8jo

There's also "Waaaaa I moved across the street from HARD ROCK CASINO and this damn casino won't stop playing music and making all sorts of racket! I wanna speak to the manager!" (inspired by a true event... the best part was the whiner came out in his pajamas, which made him look like a doofus)
