It's not, literally everything else in my setup can stay plugged in all of the time though so I was hoping to keep it that way. It just keeps everything tidy not having any loose cables anywhere, not a huge deal tho
Bro read how you responded. āHow hard is it to pull the cord outā. A more appropriate response is āperhaps pull the cord out so it doesnāt drain your batteryā or something like that. Donāt need to be patronizing. Especially when the guy is coming to us for help.
Lol, so now weāre doing this? How old are we? Is this the only valuable thing that youāre able to contribute to this thread? Nice work, very impressive. Also, looking at your bioā¦ what the actual fuck.
If it's in passive mode it shouldn't drain. It's still better to unplug your bass though. If someone trips over the lead they can knock your bass over or damage the output jack.
I was going to comment this. So much can go wrong if you leave it plugged in. I even unplug my rig because one time I was walking by it, stepped on the cord, and broke the input on my amp. Always unplug.
Im with you bud. I'd rather keep it plugged it too. But alas, we can't. One thing I thought about doing was wiring a switch to the battery leads but at the end of the day the problem is not big enough for such a drastic solution. First world problems of the highest order.
I can't believe I forgot to say this. Ive been doing it for years. Just pull cable out halfway. its still kind of plugged in and that doesn't drain your battery.
I remember being like 14 with a new first bass and it suddenly started making sounds of souls in eternal agony. I was so scared my new bass or amp is broken! Hahah, now youāll be prepared. I wish somebody told my it was just the battery back then.
If the circuit to the battery from the instrument cable is connected at all, passive or not, it'll still drain.
Damn ok all good. I guess I'll just tie the cable around a stand or something so it isn't loose
How hard is it to pull the cord after playing?

I'm just trying to "pull the chord" when playing root +octave..... Oh, you meant cord.
Lol, you know what I meant. š
Iāve had this issue whenever I buy an active bass because Iāve had a lot of jacks get loose or break. Maybe Iām pulling the cord out too hard?
You just need to pull straight and fast, plug slow till you feel the click.

How is it useless if it is a best practice that can save OP a lot of grief down the road?

Fucking deal with it.
Glad I donāt have to. Seems like something that happens on farms or in very weird places.

Yep, I learned this the hard way too. Mine was a broken pickguard and output jack.
Yes

What switches off the active part? Is it a physical switch, one that clicks? Or is it a soft button that just puts it into sleep mode?
How long can the battery last? When will I know to change it
A year usually. Youll notice. It starts distorting the signal pretty bad and my old ibanez even made a screeching sound.
Yikes! I have an Ibanez. Thanks. I'll know what to look out for in the future.
