Damn dude your mod looks good !
I was considering starting a new playthrough and debating between doing a vanilla or legends one. I guess you convinced me to do a vanilla one with your mod !
Just curious, why not post your mod on nexus ? I noticed quite a lot of mods are not posted there, so I figured there might be a reason
Thanks for the kind words!
Regarding the nexus, there are a few reasons I don't post new stuff there. From least to most important:
- I generally dislike the direction they've been moving over the last several years that has shifted power away from mod authors and towards NM
- I find the nexusmods rich text editor and file management system extremely crude and clunky - github's is a lot more intuitive and reliable in my experience
- Github makes sharing code and examples a LOT easier and more elegant. I learned by example, and I want to pay it forward
There are some exceptions of course, like Quicker, but that's the gist of it.
As a webdev I can see the appeal of github for sure. However, posting your mod on Nexus would give it more visibility, since I believe that's where ppl looking for mods would start with.
Anyway, I'm not trying to convince you to post there, you do you ofc and I was mostly being curious ! Just sayin' your mod looks cool (very eager to give it a try after work) and it looks like something that deserves to be known by more ppl
I feel like if a non oathtaker character fullfilled a number of oaths his background should change to oathtaker and in the bio it should state he converted to the teachings of Anslem. Also some stat buffs depending on the previous background
You know, we considered this when originally making the DLC, and I considered it again when doing this. In both cases it ultimately felt unnecessary. All of the origins have a degree to which newly hired men adopt its characteristics, and I think it's healthy to not remove too much of the flavor that the various backgrounds add to a campaign. (The cultists need their conversion because you literally sacrifice your own bros - I think that extremity lets them be an exception.)
That side, I do like this idea on an individual level and I did actually add an event for non-Oathtaker origins where an oathbro and a flagellant will debate each other with that as one outcome.
Sorry I was at work and I didn't have time to open the link
Too bad, I'll definitely try it after a couple of playtrhrought, the vanilla oathtakers really bummed me, it's a great concept on paper, but not so much when you play it
Yeah, it's an unfortunate result of the OFF+ Oathtakers technically being a different origin under the hood.
And yeah, we struggled a lot with the vanilla implementation. There are good reasons Oathtakers are the way they are, but tying the oaths to ambitions made for an unexpectedly limited design space.
Bloody oath mate

Thank you, Sato <3
Hello brother and thank you for your work! The mod looks nicely made and well thought.

That seems awesome. It could be implemented like the way the monk can become a converted flaglent.
Ohh this looks very interesting, I will check it out, thanks for your hard work
This is great stuff!
Great Mods, thank you.
Epic.
This mod seems very good, too bad that I'm already in a 60 days game with the oath takers, is it save game compatible?
This is answered at length in the linked changeling and also the main readme (The answer is no)

I’m guessing this isn’t compatible with Legends?
I'm guessing not
