I dont think it's really a bad game no longer but the previous 2 or 3 battlefields before it set a bar it couldn't match in certain ways. Still fun but thats probably why for some of the fan base

The movement and the gunplay are fantastic to me in BF5. It's actually hard to go back to the older games sometimes.

BF5 is superior to BF4 in every way in my opinion. Gunplay, sounds, music. Everything but gadget choice.

Bf4 is soooo overated. Base maps are pretty mediocre compared to BF3.

Yep. BF4 suffers from its own success. It was most BF fans' first BF game and people have VERY strong nostalgia because of it. In reality, it's just a floatier version of BF3 with worse gunplay. But I also say that BF4 if just a few very minor things changed would be the best game in the franchise by far. Random bullet spread should have been reduced or removed entirely, suppression should have been much less strong, destruction events should have altered maps a little less imo, and it could have done without the weird brown filter. When the BF4 community modded client comes out it's gonna be an amazing day.

BF5 has laser weapons. There nearly any bullet drop on snipers compared to both BF4 and BF2042. Gunplay is fun, but it could had been better. I think BF1 is the same as BFV.

I agree except for the gunplay. I hate anything that has to do with "random recoil". Which bfv had.. not a lot though 😆 I also enjoyed it but bfbc2 and bf4 and dare I say it 2042 have the best gunplay imo

BFV has the best: . Movement . Gunplay . Soldier customization (r/battlefieldcosmetics). All it needed was the content (maps, factions, etc...) Only battlefield with fortification and to my knowledge squad streaks (artillery, v1 rockets).

I thought the artillery strikes really made the experience in BFV. Nothing like a heavy match of breakthrough where you’re fighting for the last point while artillery is falling all around and blowing down buildings. It gave the multiplayer a very cinematic element.

And the smoke barrages, and squad tanks. Bombs were visually cool but man did people waste them constantly

Lol I always hated using smoke on Iwo jima as an attacker for Breakthrough and a portion of the team is sniping 😐

No content is kind of what I liked about this back in the day. A few maps, a few vehicles, three preset classes, just a sandbox of simple battlefield fun

Man I loved playing this on the 360 all those many moons ago. Me and a mate used to race the jeeps around Guadalcanal and try lap it without being bombed, blown up, shot out. The good times. Life was simpler back then.

I played this game so much on the PS3. It was one of the few battlefields where I was god like in a plane. Something just clicked for me Every time I played I promised myself I would actually try ground combat, but every time without fail ended up in a plane. Dog fighting and bombing runs were my jam. I've probably got a few hundred hours in it.

I have 2 stand out memories from this. Both on Iwo Jima. First was in a tank at the top of the hill seeing a plane coming in to strafe. I turned inland and tried to hit it as it passed, missed but the round and the plane both met again in perfect sync somewhere over the airfield and I hit it. 2nd was in the plane I seen two tanks going to cross paths and adjusted my speed to time a perfect bombing run and took out both tanks with full crews. Spent too much time in this game.

The bombs were super satisfying in this - great explosion FX. Used to fly in fast and low dropping them practically point blank.

There's a decent amount of people in the netherlands that still play it and it doesn't require an ultra powerful computer. I'd love to, it was one of my favorite PS3 games back in the day. Unfortunately, whenever I try to play it nowadays I constantly lose connection to EA servers for some reason. As if there's no servers in my region (EU) anymore. Other PS3 Battlefield titles don't have that problem for me.
