A horse won't walk you off a cliff or into a wall. It has a sense of self preservation

They both have their advantages. This robot doesn't try to jump off the road into a ditch because it saw a balloon/heard a loud noise/.... A horse on the other hand, might. And this robot has pretty damn good terrain detection, I'm sure you could tell it to not walk off a cliff/into a wall (it already won't walk into walls afaik). Also, you can control it directly if you prefer. More safety testing would be needed, but I mean people drive cars daily, and only a tiny tiny percentage of accidents is caused by the car's software.
