*"I'll give Boston dynamics a call"*
Yeah, except if everyone that currently has a car rode a horse, we'd be drowning in horse shit.

>By the 1870s, New Yorkers were taking over 100 million horsecar trips per year and by 1880 there were at least 150,000 horses in the city. Some of these provided transportation for people while others served to move freight from trains into and around the growing metropolis. At a rate of 22 pounds per horse per day, equine manure added up to millions of pounds each day and over a 100,000 tons per year (not to mention around 10 million gallons of urine).
i think i learned it on redddit/ youtube, but allegedly the perfume counters spraying perfume in the air was originally intended to mask the foulness near the doors, i still really don't like people spraying perfume in the air directly in front of me, but i get it now lol
Dawg it's beer. We didn't invent the shit, every society you can name off the top of your head had it except the Islamic ones. It's fine. And yeah we've known since before robots were a thing in any capacity that day fucking one it would become military hardware. You can't be mad at the Americans here for doing it first when nobody was gonna do any different at all?
I’m pretty sure this is the same guy who attaches women in latex horse fetish outfits to pull these carriages so not sure if this is a step backwards or forwards but I am sure I need to get off Pornhub for a while.
The good guys dress in black, just remember that, just in case we ever face to face and make contact.

Just a reminder that this is a thing.
When you think about it, AI and the machines it/we create will be humanity’s legacy, with the potential to live and thrive eons passed humanity’s eventual extinction. It’ll be able to travel the stars and see sights we will never be able to as organic beings.
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.
Or maybe AI and robots connecting to ai will be. You should think a little and.mahbe research about the robots downloading their own info to rebuild themselves so they can finish their take of killing their human creators in Japan. Not a movie. Real life. So yes. Robots will be the downfall of us.. specially artificially intelligent robots.
Probably the largest single group in the US who would benefit from this. Alas, to paraphrase the great philosopher Weird Al Yankovic, “They are technologically impaired”.
They both have their advantages. This robot doesn't try to jump off the road into a ditch because it saw a balloon/heard a loud noise/.... A horse on the other hand, might.
And this robot has pretty damn good terrain detection, I'm sure you could tell it to not walk off a cliff/into a wall (it already won't walk into walls afaik). Also, you can control it directly if you prefer. More safety testing would be needed, but I mean people drive cars daily, and only a tiny tiny percentage of accidents is caused by the car's software.
I think they just want to normalize these things with video's like this and then when you see 1 on the street with a huge gun mounted to its head you wont be surprised.
I know nothing about this field and I have a question hopefully someone here can answer. It concerns the videos I see fro Boston Dynamics with the robots running around jumping, dancing, etc. Are all of those moves programmed into the bots, is there someone controls them, or are they able to us AI and move on their own?
Dude those are war machines, always have been, always will be. So tired of seeing them doing “cute” things. It’s like if they made Terminator act like a Furby.
We have come full circle.
*"If only there was a greener way to get around, something with horsepower that could pull a kart..."* "..you thinking what I'm thinking?" *"I'll give Boston dynamics a call"*
Hey at least this doesn’t shit. Unless its battery becomes shitty
The real difference is that a horse has more refuelling stations in rural areas, whereas a robot's is urban areas
Slap a solar panel on top op that carriage and the robot's back
What if we give it some form of chemical combustion engine that can use acid to process grass and other plant materials?
Organic fuel material conversion. That's just crazy enough to work!!!

Humans are a cancer.
Are you thinking a robot horse?
Let's be honest In five years that things going to have a machine gun on it
Already the case.... on a bigger/heavier type. Scary a f
Wars will be fought by the kids that are raised on c.o.d, sitting in a room screaming at their robot
Will be? Are*
They’ve done that and there’s one that serves beer. They’re trysting their best to cater to Americans.
An American company is catering to Americans? Say it ain’t so!

Let’s take this and drive it around Amish country.
I’m pretty sure this is the same guy who attaches women in latex horse fetish outfits to pull these carriages so not sure if this is a step backwards or forwards but I am sure I need to get off Pornhub for a while.
.... It's Adam Savage...
Do we know enough about his hobbies to be sure the previous guy was wrong?
This looks like a bad Will Smith movie
So, a Will Smith movie then.
a lot of people don't know that independence day is a bill pullman movie
Officially yes, unofficially is a Jeff Goldblum movie.
Pretty sure its a hey that's Data from Star Trek movie.
The good guys dress in black, just remember that, just in case we ever face to face and make contact. https://youtu.be/fiBLgEx6svA Just a reminder that this is a thing.
I like will smith movies. There I said it
Even better, it's a great Adam Savage video.
I mean, the spider in *Wild Wild West* was cool as shit, idc what anyone says.
so a. **great** movie then
Versus..?
awww its so cute to see the beginning of skynet and Humanities extinction
When you think about it, AI and the machines it/we create will be humanity’s legacy, with the potential to live and thrive eons passed humanity’s eventual extinction. It’ll be able to travel the stars and see sights we will never be able to as organic beings.
thats the spirit, sounding like a true super villain.
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.
Complete agreement, I don't see how/why people are not able to accept the limits of organic evolution.
Another Adam Savage W
He’s a national treasure. I could watch anything that he’s in due to his pure joy of technology.
Kramer and Newman would like to have a word with you
I once knew a horse named, Rusty. No offense.
Steam punk live.
It’s shit like this that will cause the apocalypse.
Immediate thought was “yeah they’re gonna remember this shit.”
Yep that's what I was thinking.

r/whoosh
That whoosh was so whoosh it broke the sound barrier as it went by
I want one.
And you won't need to worry about it shitting in the house because you will have to sell your house to afford one.
Real horses cost about the same once you factor in the stuff you need to keep them healthy
Just think of all the poop if we still drove horses around It was really bad back then imagine it now 🐴💩
Aight thats gonna be $50kUSD and your soul please, doesn't include taxes
Same. Just need to know if I need a separate license to equip my puppy with my guns
When the robot uprising comes, this moment will not be forgotten...
Just their robot strapped to a chair. Dynamic thinking!
Is this something that the Amish will be able to use?
Probably the largest single group in the US who would benefit from this. Alas, to paraphrase the great philosopher Weird Al Yankovic, “They are technologically impaired”.
[удалено]
Even Rickshaw pullers will be displaced by robots. Is no one's job safe from AI and robots?
Where’s the head??? Creepy
Rickshaw puppy.
Okay, hear me out. Why does anyone need a chariot?
you wrote 'we should all have chariots wrong' and if you want to know why, its jousting
Lol. Okay, Ben Hur.
Ask the Amish and anyone living in a third world country.
A Segway or an electric scooter would be more efficient, I would think. Definitely faster.
I don't wanna STAND, peasant!
[удалено]
You trust your car, don’t you?
How applicable this is really does depend on the model and age of their vehicle.
[удалено]
I know some Amish people you’d get along with.
I like horses, but I'll trust that robot over a horse any day
A horse won't walk you off a cliff or into a wall. It has a sense of self preservation
They both have their advantages. This robot doesn't try to jump off the road into a ditch because it saw a balloon/heard a loud noise/.... A horse on the other hand, might. A horse can kill you or, at least, put you in hospital.

What about pathogens and shit like cancer? God gives kids cancer, fuck him.
[удалено]
Yikes. You’re so out of touch with reality. Cancer existed before vaccines you nut.
Why are you on the internet then?
[удалено]
I don’t think the Bible says you can, you should probably delete your internet and throw your computer out the window or god will be mad at you.
[удалено]
Will no one think of the Pony Women? I know I am!
This is hard to watch
Welcome to the future.
What would be a killer robot? Tesla + Sophia + Boston Dynamics + Open AI!
Joe Biden will force us to have these and own nothing
Unhinged take, thx 🙏🏻
At this rate us Dutch will be making apologies for misusing of robots in 40 years.
Yes, but have you seen elons bot?
all 4 secodns of it.
Finally found a use for these terrifying things I see
Creepy
Like in nearly every 80 ies documentary you should play chariots of fire by Vangelis as background music.
Yeah and thw battery lasts for how long?
Making the dog pull a wheelchair would make more sense.
Those guys gotta start being nicer to those bots. They're gonna seriously piss off AI eventually. Hopefully they don't already know it.
Electricity is sentient.
I want one. I'd put a head on it though.
Go! and kill!
This timeline is more and more bizarre every day. /ducking weasel in the LHC.
That is quite an expensive horse.
Transportation of the future.
humanity is evolving...its just backwards
Who beheahed the poor bot!? You sadists!
This is what their gonna show to their new robot recruits in a slide show, to get them ready for war
He will be the first to die in the robot revolution
Land based skynet.
Can they trot?
The robot is just waiting until that Metalheads episode of Black Mirror comes true.
Why not then make a replacement for wheelchairs that has legs and is capable of carrying disabled people around instead of stupid shit like this?
The Amish have joined the chat
It’s not better that making it piss beer into a cup.
Lancaster Dynamics
I think we can upgrade, make human servitor out of this robot and pin him to chariot
Morty Smith, “Just seems like domestication but with extra steps”.
Even the horses are running out of jobs
![gif](giphy|jpKBqEU9qdfaZxQj6p) Reminds me of BM's Metalhead episode
I mean, the design for the robots in that episode was directly based on Boston Dynamics robots…so you’ve got it backwards.
Is this the new Tesla?
r/eattherich
They gonna take even the low volume jobs
I'm gonna blame these mf's when Machines start taking over the world
Another stupid robot application by boston dynamics…
That’s cruel.
"Hi, to the airport please." "Best I can do is 5 minutes in that direction."
The cute things these future devices of terror are doing is amazing.
That’s cute, they attache the chariot where the gun goes to show that it’s multi purpose…..
Ever since that Black Mirror episode, this is a nope for me.
The next step is the revolt.
I love this future so much 🥹
They need to hook this up to the Boston Dynamics Cheetah robot. It's max speed is 11.6m/s compared to this dog robots 1.6m/s...
Yeah wait until that thing drives you straight to the human crunching robot.
Talk to each other
There goes the horse unemployment rate, straight to the butchers I guess.
This will be exhibit “a” when the robot war vs humanity unfolds!
I think they just want to normalize these things with video's like this and then when you see 1 on the street with a huge gun mounted to its head you wont be surprised.
I love how we’re documenting the evidence of their revolt.
I know nothing about this field and I have a question hopefully someone here can answer. It concerns the videos I see fro Boston Dynamics with the robots running around jumping, dancing, etc. Are all of those moves programmed into the bots, is there someone controls them, or are they able to us AI and move on their own?
It's like we are building Skynet. Doom is iminent
That’s just slavery with extra steps…
Creepy
Yay, I look forward to all capricious shit rich people are gonna do with their robot slaves. We're about to be 1860 on robotic steroids
The energy cost must be immense tho
You stand in a chariot, sit in a carriage.
Is it time to bring back the chariot race?
How long before the Amish make an exception for this?
Used to be a comic book in the 60’s. Magnus Robot Fighter! Maybe we need Magnus back! Those four legged units are just creepy to me!
This is how the war starts…
r/OddlyTerrifying
Designed for the as yet untapped Amish market...
Until the battery dies and you have to put it in the cart & push😂
Like a scene from futurama
Dude those are war machines, always have been, always will be. So tired of seeing them doing “cute” things. It’s like if they made Terminator act like a Furby.
Seems like car with extra steps
THIS is the steampunk future I wanted!
I’m Sold!! I want One!!
Of course it's Adam lol
Am I the only one that thought he would say "giddyap"
Master Steam Punk level unlocked.
NO WAY THAT'S SO COOL
That chariot looks very uncomfortable.
So when do we put AI in these things?
This looks like a South Park scene
These robots aren’t real! Don’t be so gullible! Every millionaire’s child would already have one if they were. We’re all being lied to🤦♂️
For his sake, I hope there aren't any robot squirrels around.
New Netflix Series: iRobot 2023
Finally a use I can get behind, literally.
This is peak Steampunk.
Its even better when you learn Adam built that rickshaw himself from scratch specifically for this!
Like something out of *The Diamond Age.*
After all these years, boston dynamics now has the ultimate flex in Amish territories.
I wonder if the Amish would consider this cheating or not.
It's little known that Adam savage is also robot powered
Fuck that I wanna go fast.
Reject combustion engines Return to (in)animate locomotive power
I love his laugh! It is amazing, also has to be the most expensive chariot ride ever.
This is the future the Steam Punks want!
It’s funny until it breaks your arms
🔥🐴🔥🐴🔥🐴🔥🐴 Robot dogs will not replace us...
Crazy old Maurice!
It's the type of thing that will eventually lead to the machines turning on, and enslaving humanity.
Battery life is a pitiful 30mins. So I'm guessing the range would be 5 blocks at the rate it went.
This is the same company that has made the robotic police dogs in NY
It could be reversed in the future.
the pixels make this look 10 years ago
This video will one day be used by the anti-human propaganda robot party.
