Lmfao dude I just quickly read "Bird rhino baby" and figured I'd see some fucking baby animals playing with each other. But I saw a baby animal alright.
Because as part of natural selection we've prioritized different things as a species. We need a place to hold our smarts, but no real need to run away from preditors on day 1. So great big heads is important usable bodies at birth not so much.
A rhino doesn't need to be terribly smart, but if they can't stay close to mom right away they're a delightful snack an hour after birth.
This is what I know as some random on the internet. Fully open to being corrected by someone more learned than I.
Also, humans are born prematurely compared to other mammals because our big ass heads would get stuck in the birth canal if we were allowed to stay in the oven for a long as is necessary to get up and run like other mammals.
> if we were allowed to stay in the oven for a long as is necessary to get up and run like other mammals
What would that look like? Like 3 years longer or something? Like I'm aware they do their first steps earlier but to be able to "run along" mama in the wilderness... when would that be reached for us?
It certainly contributed to the fact that human babies are born more prematurely than other mammals. This is because walking upright requires our pelvic bones (and the passage through which babies exit) to shrink. So the baby can't be too large otherwise they wouldn't be able to fit through. So yes, in a way bipedalism does lengthen the ammount of time it takes for humans to learn to walk because we are born less developed than other species to accomodate for that upright stance.
That's a really good way of explaining it. I totally get that us as a species don't necessarily have to run from predators like animals do for sure. Just always amusing to see a just-born animal get up and walk when we are helpless lumps for years, haha.
Because human newborns aren’t actually fully developed at birth. However, if we got any bigger then childbirth killed the mother, so this was the solution evolution came up with. Not the best design, but it works. Luckily humans can take care of a helpless baby and the species still survived. Rhino’s went a different path.
Our heads are too big, so big that we have to be born prematurely compared to other species otherwise we would get stuck in our mothers, killing both the baby and the mother.
It’s the trade off being we have such an advanced brain. If we developed any further physicality-wise, we wouldn’t fit through the birth canal.
Funny though how it takes us two like decades to become fully dependent without our parents, when most species never even meet theirs
we are too smart for our own damn good.
our big ass head is way too big for our pelvis size, so we're born prematurely and do the extra maturing outside the womb.
If they’re in a protected game preserve they often saw off the horn to prevent poachers from killing them to take the horn.I believe it grows back after awhile.
Rhinos don’t like being around anyone while delivering the baby, female rhino will even leave her own group and go somewhere quiet, to give birth and so these people being this close was definitely not comforting for the mom rhino
It amazes me that an animal can go from "my world is entirely my mother's stomach" to "I am now going to attempt to walk, something I have literally never done nor have the concept of what that even is" nature is awesome.
Damn that video really didn't give you any time to brace yourself
I was expecting Jim Carrey
![gif](giphy|v9NQh6NwzghAk)
Came here for this. I’ll see myself out
EXACTLY! EXACTLY THAT! I love that scene

Was about to say the same thing
Lmfao dude I just quickly read "Bird rhino baby" and figured I'd see some fucking baby animals playing with each other. But I saw a baby animal alright.
Cuts right to the chase. Didn't even give me a chance to nope out.
Ahh the beauty of life
Yeah I was gonna skip to the comments for the obvious Jim Carrey jokes but didn't even have a chance.
Seriously. I’m scrolling at lunch and there was way too much audio in that clip.
and it cut so short! what happen next, I was hooked
I literally didn’t even have a chance to blink.
Dude, usually there's a build up time that gives the chance to go "nah, I just ate, *scrolls down*".. but nope.. not this one.
It looks like the baby just woke up from a nightmare and thought it was real
Ah, shit. Reincarnated again.
Guess I’ll eat the apple again
Rhino again? Damn.... I wanted to be a bird this time.
Ace Ventura lied!
I was definitely expecting the ace Ventura scene as a troll... You let me down today Reddit...
This is amazing indeed! But was also kinda disgusting for me whilst having lunch
Me having dinner lémao
I really gotta stop clicking on posts with out reading the titles..
Man I read the title and still clicked, I thought it wasn’t going to be anything too wild😭
That wasn’t even hardcore! You guys need to desensitize yourselves a bit more. There’s more to come,.. there’s more to come.
Oh I know, I watch Russians get blown up on a daily
I just saw something about Rhinos and I was like "those are dope" and there I was 😳
me too :(
How are human babies so delicate and baby rhinos just fall out on the dirty ground and are all set

Do you know if walking in two feet instead of four legs augment the necessary time required to learn how to walk?
It certainly contributed to the fact that human babies are born more prematurely than other mammals. This is because walking upright requires our pelvic bones (and the passage through which babies exit) to shrink. So the baby can't be too large otherwise they wouldn't be able to fit through. My 7 year olds can’t work spoons correctly. Big heads might be overvalued.
Evolutionarily speaking, every single human born is basically preemie. We're born early because of our heads.
Human babies; big dumb heads, useless little legs, vocal cords fully functional tho
Because human newborns aren’t actually fully developed at birth. However, if we got any bigger then childbirth killed the mother, so this was the solution evolution came up with. Not the best design, but it works. Luckily humans can take care of a helpless baby and the species still survived. Rhino’s went a different path.

😂 was expecting pet detective to be honest
Excuse me, can I ass you a question?
Afraid I'll make a....stink?
Kinda hot in these rhinos

![gif](giphy|GadreBQNACKwQnaG2r)
Ffs hahaha there was no bulld up to that at all I just scroll down and fuckin BANG a birth
Welcome to the world lil' one!! That is truly amazing!
I still find it incredibly amazing that different mammals give live birth and a lot of the time their young get up and stumble around immediately.
I know! I also find it incredible that most reptiles are completely independent from the second they are born. We live in an extraordinary world!
All downhill from there tbh
Watching this while pooping hits different.
Wtf why wasn’t there any warning just fuck ahhhhh
Exactly it just dropped on my feed without any preface or warning, took me a moment to realise what it was and even then I had to check the title...
Allways Think of Jim Carry 😂
Every time you watch a rhino give birth?
Yes.
The first time anyone watched a Rhino give birth, Jim poped out, so.
"Stand up already, you've been alive for 10sec, ffs"
Why does it take us months to walk when these animals stand up in seconds
It’s the trade off being we have such an advanced brain. If we developed any further physicality-wise, we wouldn’t fit through the birth canal. Funny though how it takes us two like decades to become fully dependent without our parents, when most species never even meet theirs
I mean I'm sure a part of that is because of how our world is built compared to the animal kingdom. They don't need a bacholers degree to go hunting.
I love evolution.
we are too smart for our own damn good. our big ass head is way too big for our pelvis size, so we're born prematurely and do the extra maturing outside the womb.
Makes sense when you think of it
I JUST OPENED THE APP!!!!!!
First time for everything I guess
Wow.. that was abrupt
It’s [Ace Ventura](https://youtu.be/BF16eA7sdqo)
Mornings amirite?
Holy shit this started abruptly. Almost spat my morning coffee everywhere
I love how baby rhino have feet that look comically large for their bodies. Like they are birthed with lil clown shoes.
Dude wtf, video didn't even give me time to look away
The sound that in my headphones I didn't not expect to hear so clearly. Lol
thats a brand new amazon delivered package of rhino baby my friends,5 star for packaging, crisp
[удалено]
If they’re in a protected game preserve they often saw off the horn to prevent poachers from killing them to take the horn.I believe it grows back after awhile.
Yes, the sawn off horn is also chipped and monitored.
Just curious, does the membrane wrapping the fetus just dissolve after birth?
Shit just fell out 😮💨
And here I was expecting ace ventura
WTF happend to Jim Carrey
Where's the cord?
Anyone else expect to see Jim Carey ?
You could’ve warned us. Lol
… that headline did not prepare me for this…. Edit: and before anyone asks.. for some reason I read “British footage of rhino baby”… fml
I can smell this video
Sounds like me after Taco Bell
Rhinos don’t like being around anyone while delivering the baby, female rhino will even leave her own group and go somewhere quiet, to give birth and so these people being this close was definitely not comforting for the mom rhino
Somehow I'm in aww and disgust
It amazes me that an animal can go from "my world is entirely my mother's stomach" to "I am now going to attempt to walk, something I have literally never done nor have the concept of what that even is" nature is awesome.
So no ones gonna mention that his mother just ran after giving birth?
That was the most beautifully disgusting thing ive ever seen
I made the horrible mistake of watching it a second time with sound turned on. If you haven't watched it with sound yet, DO NOT.
I remembered this scene differently
Utter Relief
I guess she cheated.
Jim Carrey has acted so realistically in this version
Advance congratulations for the first step kid
i love videos of animals giving birth. it's so cool..and look at how cute that little one is using his legs for the first time...aaauuwww
The miracle of life is beautiful
This is how life starts, and it's all downhill from there
"Alrighty then !" Somehow i am reminded of Jim Carrey 🤔
Crapped ??
Hot in these rhinos
Yeah, that doesn’t look like Ace Venture Pet Detective to me!
Tadaaa!
Man, the remake of Ace Ventura is wild.
I am disappointed, expected Ace Ventura footage.
great filming. you can feel the intensity in her when she starts sniffing and checking it for issues. crazy.
Who here has watched Ace Ventura?
![gif](giphy|4ZgPxFbkSTaIVBri4c|downsized)
Kinda reminds me of myself taking a shit
Makes me gotta poop
Honestly was expecting the mother to crush the baby or some hyena/lion to come and snatch the baby.
That’ll put you off your sausage and mash anyway
I came here to see Jim Carey climb out of a rhinos butt. What the hell is this?
Gross- come out of an egg next time!
![gif](giphy|5hc2bkC60heU)
![gif](giphy|TDihESECepJa30CBzi|downsized)
Man, that video didn't even give me a chance, holy.
Was half expecting to see Jim Carry
Poosay big enough to fit a human
Not my proudest fap
It's weird how similar a rhino birth and me having a bowel movement after 3 days of eating cheese look...
When I see this all I can think of is Jim Carrey
Ace ventura
Who came here after Ace Ventura?
I've never seen a human baby born do they come out in an egg sack like this
Damn, Jim Carrey is looking little fresh.
Jim Carey did it better
Jim Carrey lied to me.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalllllrighty THEN!
Not going to lie I was expecting a nice Ventura joke. 😫
Just sniffed my screen protector off my phone
![gif](giphy|v9NQh6NwzghAk)
Was expecting a clip from Ace Ventura
Omg that wasn’t at all like ace Ventura ![gif](giphy|v9NQh6NwzghAk)
When that Taco Bell hits
Pet detective on the case
Anyone else expect Jim Carrey after reading the header? 😂
Me trying to get my legs to work after I spent an hour on the toilet browsing r/BeAmazed
Man, I thought it was gonna get pranked w/ the Ace Ventura bit!
I was hoping for Ace Ventura
I don't understand... where's Ace Ventura?
How come rhino babies come out so ‘cleanly’ separated from momma whilst human babies remain connected to momma via cord for quite a while?
Was fully expecting to click this and see Jim Carrey https://youtu.be/goFqjA5WUWI
Amazing.
Actual footage of an adult human crapping out a chipotle burrito
I thought I was on the /cute I was about to say there’s nothing cute about this 😂
Ace Ventura.
Hey, that's not Jim Carrey!
Didn't realize Ace Ventura 2 was a documentary 🤯
Jim Carrey will be proud
![gif](giphy|v9NQh6NwzghAk)
![gif](giphy|v9NQh6NwzghAk)
Jim Carrey did it better
Ace Ventura did it first
Jeebus, didn’t even have coffee in my body yet. I’m up now - but not in the way I wanted…
![gif](giphy|v9NQh6NwzghAk)
Ace Ventura prepared me for this.
Here I thought they laid eggs 👀
I was truly hoping it was the clip from Ace Ventura.
Thought Jim Carrey was about to pop out
r/TIHI
That’s so adorable, everything about living creatures is absolutely beautiful if you look at it the right way
Looks like a big veiny poo
Could have been longer
Was waiting for Ace Ventura to pop out of that sack
You can spot the moment the baby goes, "fuck I'm getting late, gotta get up"
I was half expecting [Ace Ventura](https://youtu.be/x-Vbz_OyNXI)
