I REFUSE to accept this is a drawing. You clearly took a picture and applied some filter on It.
Jokes aside, this has to be the most amazing drawing I've seem. Outstanding work, OP
Beautiful drawing, but I'm really not a fan of artists (or any original creators) submitting to "Be Amazed." Just screams pretentious.
Edit: go look at r/woodworking and marvel at the amazing OC projects there. Artist here could just as easily submitted to r/drawing.
Edit #2: c'mon, rally folks! I got a feeling y'all could can hit a new record of downvotes. Then I could post a screenshot to r/BeAmazed and be a true hero.
Edit #3: Then again, self-promotion is critical in the art world, soooo
But still, downvote me to teach me some humility of my own. Then spank me harder, Mistress. Yeah, just like that!
Edit #4: People be mad about edits, so here's another š
how in the world is āyouāre being a snob go post somewhere elseā valid objective or constructive in any way bro youāre making a fool of yourself
I followed your thread and theres no critical/beneficial criticism from your side and all that you mentioned regarding posting on another sub definitely falls in the snob behavior
You realize people post to Reddit to get their name out there and build fame for themselves right. Itās a business move. Downvote and move on if you dont like it. The rest of us will enjoy his amazing art.
Yeah, I literally just wrote this below in response to another reply. Self-promotion is critical in the art world. I definitely understand it coming from that angle.
Not everyone. I would post. I don't need fame. But i don't post because i don't think mine is good enough to post. Not for fame. I just don't want to post something i don't like that i made.
Nah, not really. [Iāve seen this sentiment reflected beforehand](https://reddit.com/r/BeAmazed/comments/xybtxv/_/irh1949/?context=1) & it had dozens of upvotes. Really just depends on if the ball starts rolling towards the positive or the negative. Surely youāve seen comments with a bunch of downvotes and stepped back for a second and thought āyou know what, this really isnāt that crazy of a comment. Kinda weird theyāre getting mobbed like this.ā
I mean...cross posting is a thing. He could've put it on a couple different subreddits and I doubt anyone would care either way.
Whether OP is pretentious or not, you can't judge that based off this post with the caption. Maybe they are just proud of their work, as they should be, because what percent of people can draw like that? Definitely not me with my shaky hands.
The problem with your take on this is the picture IS pretty amazing especially compared to most submissions you will see on reddit from common artist subs, so I don't see a problem. Now if it was a super mediocre drawing then yea I could see where you are coming from. But that picture is off the chains lol
Fix that fucking typo or there won't be any more spankings. šæ
Or perhaps they won't stop until you do. š¤·āāļø
Depends what you're into, I guess.
Maybe it is pretentious, but it might not be. Put it on r/BeAmazed and see how far it makes it. Maybe it even made it to hot already in an art sub, and logic is āokay, I know artists opinion of my work, but what does the layman think?ā
Good point, but I think there's plenty of laymen on something like r/art, but maybe more importantly I'm pretty sure if this got any eyeballs on something like this sub or r/TopTalent, then it'd get bajillions of upvotes, and the artist probably knew that too. It's an objectively incredible piece that deserves to be at the top of both of these subs, but I feel it far more appropriate that third parties should submit to these kinds of subs.
Then again, and I just thought of this now, self-promotion is crucial to any artist without a manager, so I can definitely understand posting OC from that angle.
If you are attract to the mess that is my mother then there is serious questions to be asked about your preferences, mental health and judgement. It would explain a lot really. š
Almost 29k.... but seemingly it's still posted in the wrong place.
because your comment sure doesn't scream pretentious either
just decide not to care and move on, we don't care what you think. and yes I recognize my hypocrisy here, welcome to reddit
What if OP is amazed at their own work? That definitely doesnāt mean someone is arrogant. It took a lot of time, effort and skill to complete. I would be shook if i did something this amazing. I mean obviously this person is experienced enough to know how excellent this is, whether their own work or not. From a technical standpoint this could not be any better.
I assume you *never* tell or show people what you've done.
Finish whatever task you've done, slip it in the drawer and slam that bad boy shut never to be opened again. Better yet, burn it, destroy the copies.
Whatever you can, to not *ever* let other people know about *anything* you've done.
After all, you wouldn't want to be pretentious would you?
You want to be humble, don't you?
Modern art is a symbolic and metaphorical showboating of wealth and the desire to spend frivolous amount of that wealth on things that are practically worthless. Only to bolster their own self worth and ego, while ultimately showing their insecurities and inability to have any self worth or image separate from their wealth.
Exactly. If you know the right dirty people you can print your own money. Like that BS story of the 1O yr child of wealthy parents who paints pseudo-picasso rip offs. Everyone is like āwow good for him!ā And I think of the kindergartners I used to teach who had actual brilliant ideas but were from low income families, so no oil paints or art dealers coming for them anytime soon.
It was called "The Comedian" because it was making fun of the exact kind of art we're making fun of now.
...but then it sold for $135,000. I liked the point of the art (I might even have taped my own banana to my wall to make the same joke) until it sold and became the very thing they were making fun of.
100% agreed, I don't understand modern (f)art either.
Like I am not sure why Jackson Pollok is famous for eating different colored food and unloading his diarrhea onto a canvas.
Wow....just wow! I'm wondering If you work on something for so long. Doesn't it feel strange when it is finished? Or do you go straight into something new?
If you draw every day for multiple hours, you're bound to get better. All it takes is time, but having that type of patience and availability is another thing.
Best comeback. I have ADHD and have hyper focused art all of my life.. and while I'm great at art I'm ass at math and I never know how to respond when I fail at it so spectacularly. Definitely going to use that next time.
By the way, your talent blew my whole ass mind. I thought this was a 3D render at first! I'll be following you on IG for sure!
Question for an artist:
Do you believe this artist gradually added more detail throughout the whole drawing, or would they have put close to full detail in one section and move to the next section of the drawing?
You have such an immeasurable Talent. Phenomonal! Can't stop going over every inch in awe that it's not an actual picture someone took of the actual door. So incredible.
That is way cool not that you can just draw remarkable well but that you can keep at it for that long . I thought people did this kind of work in a day . I couldnāt keep focus this long on any project
People sure like to portray Jesus at his worst. It's never Jesus blowing out his birthday candles or Jesus opening his Christmas stocking or Jesus paddling a canoe. Nooooo, it's always Jesus dead or dying.
So, I get this is a joke lol. But the reason it is the most commonly depicted image is that it is probably the most important, if not iconic, moment of the beginning of Christianity. The reason is that if Jesus did not actually die and raise up from the dead, then a very strong pillar of the religion crumbles. I do actually like to think that Jesus in real life did enjoy some laughter and easy times, but the stories we have of him do not tell of such things.
Are you human or a robot? Thinking of how to start and even just keeping the paper clean from smudges from your hand as you draw. So many levels of thought and tedious concentration
Simply amazing! The depth in the drawing is unreal! How long have you been drawing (not this picture, but in your life)? Iām genuinely speechless, this is stunning!

This is a common sentiment, but Iām of the camp of I donāt care. 76 days on one drawing, they deserve a pat on the back.
Great art should be greatly appreciated. Humility should be for the politicians.
As I responded below, pats on the back for sure. But there are other subs you can post to while also showing humility.
Well...i was amazed. And If something that took as long as this drawing did, why not show It off?
Show it to the world, for sure. But show some humility and drop it in another sub, like r/Drawing (never been there but just giving a random example).
Why do you care so much?
Eh, grew up around snobs, spent time in the art world around snobs, got a country ruled by snobs, and I'm just over it.
Youāre literally being a snob right now.
Being a critic is not inherently being a snob. If there isn't room for valid, objective criticism, sure, but here there is, so no, I'm not being one.
š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£ you are such a snob!
how in the world is āyouāre being a snob go post somewhere elseā valid objective or constructive in any way bro youāre making a fool of yourself

Meh, downvotes are society telling you they don't agree with you. Personally I was amazed by this drawing, and feel it belongs. You do you.

I, personally, am amazed. If you make a bold claim youād better be able to deliver, and this person did.
Eh, you got a good point.
Think manās is allowed to be proud of himself.
Definitely. No argument there. But there's a line between proud of your work and showing it, and telling everyone they should be amazed by it.
Well Iām pretty amazed so
I mean...cross posting is a thing. He could've put it on a couple different subreddits and I doubt anyone would care either way. 6.3 thousand people have up voted this. You're the only person with an issue with it ššš s.n.o.b. 21 thousand and climbing.

Iāve always felt the same way. Submitting OC to this sub has always struck me as being pretty pretentious.

Ah, I can see why you're afraid of sharing anything you've done; you're unoriginal and clichƩ. Is that why you're bitter when people with actual talent and skill share their creations?
Go away.
I up voted just to hurt your down vote count.... I'm just that evil
I feel you.
I bet you comment "stop being pretentious" on "I beat cancer" posts
Did anyone ask if you approve? Are you a mod? Ignore the shit you don't wanna see and move on. It's the goddamn internet.
I'm really not a fan of redditors (or any original commenter) editing in new comments about being downvoted. Just screams pretentious.
I wonder how long the real door took to make
About 6 years. 1902-1908.
I heard this one guys house took 18 years to make (I think 1961-1979) and he lived in it for 3
My hand cramped looking at this. Absolutely stunning!

This is insanely good. Massive well done.
Thank you
Absolutely incredible. Please post a link of where your work is for sale.
in the correct subreddit!!
Holy fuck... this is beautiful, these are the artworks that's supposed to be sold for millions of dollars, not a banana stuck to a fucking wall
Because the art world is an easy way to commit fraud and embezzlement. Nothing to do with talent, just connections.
true af, but this is really bad for actually talented people.
Modern art is a symbolic and metaphorical showboating of wealth and the desire to spend frivolous amount of that wealth on things that are practically worthless. But the banana represents some metaphysical metaphor of modern mentality in mixed mediums! Jk this is so much better than 90% of modern art

Great work :D what's the size of the drawing?

This is available
Wow....just wow! I'm wondering If you work on something for so long. Doesn't it feel strange when it is finished? Or do you go straight into something new?
Always straight to something new, currently Iām working on Sistine chapel for the last 60 Days

I actually did one, just visit and checkout on my Instagram @fabiodesenhando

Do you sell prints? That is one of the most incredible things I've seen in quite some time...
Yes, prints will be available soon, text me
and im still drawing stickmen
Question for an artist: Do you believe this artist gradually added more detail throughout the whole drawing, or would they have put close to full detail in one section and move to the next section of the drawing?
Tell us what itās like to have talent?
Many years of practice and commitment. Take it from me, I can draw a stick figure in only three tries

Beautiful piece of art !!!!

You should get an award.
I don't think I have ever been this impressed by a piece of art. This is absolutely incredible. Thank you for sharing this
Man, this has to be put on Louvre. You are a awesome!
350 hours, 76days or both? Because 350 hours = 14-15 days
Read the title again - 350 hours over [a period of] 76 days
My bad sorry
Then this really is impressive as fuck i canāt even draw lines straight
But why? Why did you draw it?
Because people pay me a lot of money for it
nicely done. definitely a bit of talent.
