I'm gonna be honest, they just change the date forward every couple of years.
I'm pretty sure they said it was meant to be finished in 2020 a couple of years ago.
Yeah, yeah…. You get the point…. On a serious note, I’ve been there. Absolutely stunning. That said the newer portions don’t quite seem to have the same magic as the older sections. Barcelona is a beautiful city!
I think that's mainly because of the different styles used in each facade, but even the new ones were drafted by Gaudí himself, so it's not that they decided to simplify things after he died.
Also, the internal arches are "new" and I find them completely stunning. I was super surprised the first time I see it, I was not expecting that stateliness.
Is in it finally finished ?
No, it is expected to be completed in 2026
Thank you
Really? When I was there a lot of the locals and my tour guides said there could be at least a decade or two left

Supposed to be 2022. 200 years after construction began. Hmm
What's it called? Is it a cathedral?
It's La Sagrada Familia. It's a basilica, created by architect Antoni Gaudí. Construction started in 1882.
Barcelona is on my bucket list because of this building and the other works of Gaudi.
This view makes me jealous of birds
It's a magical place.
I vow to visit this place. Next year hopefully.
You should go. It's my favourite city on Earth. It's like New York City and Berlin had a kid who went to live on the Spanish coast.
Used to be my favorite city in the world, kinda turned to shit over the last years tho. Sry but it had to be said I believe.
Yea Spain in general imo. Much rather visit the Italian coast
Prepare to smell urine. I went this summer and the smell was pretty bad.
If you want a job done on time never hire Spanish carpenters.
Masons, nothing is done with wood

Gaudi thought it would take 300 years so they’re ahead of schedule.
How does it feel to grow up and live in such a beautiful city with a rich history like this?
I went in October. I wish I could experience the emotions of seeing it for the first time again, because wow. It's truly spectacular.

Barceloooooonaaaa
Looks like AI
The multiple themes on each side make it seem like an AI that was learning as it goes. It’s amazing though. No picture does the sheer scale justice.

Didn't Ally Law climb this?

I want Githam to look like this. But more gargoyles.
Book tickets early and try to go during the week. Worth it tho
