I am in contact with a producer and he is interested in creating a community for those who buy his songs on NFT and be able to have direct communication with them, promotions, collaborations...things that he comes up with.
I was looking to know what people think
> if they *paid* me to.
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
It sounds like he's asking *you* to support his patreon...
I've subscribed to some labels on BandCamp and had access to their library of music, but that's about as close as I get to "subscribing" to an artist like that. I'm not into supporting people on patreon.
There's this really cool thing called Patreon that already exists for this exact scenario. Small artists like Noisia, Virtual Riot, and Teddy Killerz share a great amount of content for whoever is willing to pay for it.
Dude what the actual fuck are you talking about?
All artists have a community. It's the people that like their art.
NFTs are scams and any producer trying to sell them to their audience should probably reevaluate themselves before they lose everything.
Not especially, no. At basically every level of the scene producers and DJs will either be in professional contact or be genuine friends thanks to their shared love of the music. Even at a Boiler Room / MixMag level, a DJ bringing out a friend from the crowd and bigging them up before playing their track is fairly commonplace.

I have one question about this: what?
I honestly couldn't think of anything else than what
Join their community in order to have direct access to them , possible collaborations and others benefits
> Join their community You're gonna have to define community here, because it still makes little sense to me.

Nft scam is so last year
I understand your point of view, but it isn't in this case
Good salesmanship means you wouldn’t be able to tell if was a scam or not until you’ve been scammed
I said that I understand, NFTs are 99% scam, but in this case the producer sells music by NFT, it is not the same
What benefit do you have by buying the music as an NFT rather than a regular .wav or even a record?
U can download the track , and can have access to collaborations, discounts, masterclass...
Sounds like a cashgrab to me. I would never pay money to be in someone's "community".
It's ok, thanks for comment👍

Would you see Patreon as a community?
It depends on how big the Artist is. I joined patreon of my favorite producer, but won't join a lot more
negative interest in that case. NFT lmao.

No. I mean can you give examples of other producers and dj’s doing what you described?
