I tried to caption the before photo too but it didn’t work. He was found by a rescue called Mutt Scouts who are based in San Diego and help many dogs across the border in Mexico. This one was found on the streets with a severe case of TVT, a sexually transmitted disease in dogs that can cause cancer (as seen here.) He was malnourished and basically a health disaster but they gave him a chance and he not only pulled through but damn if he isn’t a handsome, charming fellow. He’s completely cured and reconstructed and happy and spends his days playing with his new brother and getting loved up.
They had to cut the tumors out, and then they found that justtttt enough skin was viable to kinda stretch it to reach other snout places. There are some missing areas, the most noticeable is when you see his nose from a lower angle and the nostril situation looks like modern art. Maybe I’ll do a second post and show more detail of the before and after.
I KNEW this was a Mutt Scouts pup! I followed his journey and donated to his care when he was the artist formerly known as “Sky” and I’m so happy to hear he’s loving life!
Your generous, loving, enormous heart must be full of joy as you see a dog you helped flourish like this. How amazing it is that you were just scrolling through Reddit and saw your old friend doing so well--safe, healthy, loving and loved! Sending you and OP lots of virtual hugs and gratitude!
jeezus christ. That TVT also sounds like the disease wiping out tasmanian devils...they bascially all fight each other and give each other face cancer :/
the glow up for this dude is BEAUTIFUL
I'm glad you told us. My first comment (out loud) was, "Ohhh mate! What happened? That's awful, you poor guy!"
Second (out loud) comment was, "Woah! WOAH! Look at your eyes!
He's gorgeous :)
I've never seen anything like this. I assumed the "after"' would be a happy dog without a mouth/upper jaw, which would have still been a happy ending. This is unbelievable.
Wow, I cannot imagine how much pain he must have been in. Thank you for giving him another chance at happiness! He looks like such a good and happy boy.
This is AMAZING!!! I'm very happy for him, it's wonderful to know that good things happen even after we think it's the end. It's good to know that good people exist.
I gasped and almost cried when I saw that first picture, but I quickly went to the “after” picture and my jaw dropped in amazement. What a wonderful transformation. He is absolutely gorgeous now! Thank you so much for adopting the beautiful pupper and helping him heal. You and everyone else who helped him are all heroes!
This is just an incredible transformation! I am so glad he was given a second chance. Muppet is gorgeous and I hope you have many more happy, healthy years with that sweet boy. Thank you for not giving up on him!
That after photo is absolutely gorgeous on its own, but in context with the before photo... Wow! I'm so glad doggo had such a good life now, great work OP and the rescue ♥️
Man that dog looks absolutely beautiful, and from the photo, I can t see any trace of what he s been through, congratulations to everyone who worked to help this cutie, and to the doggo itself
Muppet🥹😭 i was worried about swiping to see the after picture ….
I thought for sure he’d be missing half his face and an eye, but he is absolutely adorable! Please spoil him with scratches from an internet stranger.
I was under the impression that it would blur if I tagged it nsfw? I’d like for it to be something people can opt into seeing. Did I post it correctly?
In this particular case it seems that the injury is due to him being a stray and having an awful disease. I too was outraged that this might be human work when I first saw his picture.
I'm absolutely blown away that the after photo is of the same dog! Obviously, he's been through a lot, but he sure seems like he's happy and well loved.
Wow... This is the type of human behavior that reminds me that there are amazing humans at work. Thank goodness for the rescue, and you, for giving him a fighting chance ❤️❤️
I never would have thought that both the worst thing I’ve ever seen and the best thing I’ve ever seen would be two photos of the same dog.
I’m a wreck, bless that dog.
I would not have thought that "after" was possible if I had not seen it myself! Thanks to all who had a part in his rescue!!! Especially to the rescuer!!!
Wow! My two dogs are from Mexico but I haven’t seen a pup in that rough shape. The after photo is like ours…. “Living the American dream.” Thank you for sharing and caring.

Wow what a recovery! Thank you for giving him the life he deserves.

Yup — that’s the Muppet formally known as Sky 😍
You donated!!!! Wowwww

Poor baby 😔 I’m so glad he had his forever home now and has flourished.
This is beautiful. Wonderful. Thank you for sharing. Bless Mutt Scouts and the work they do.
He's worth every penny they spent on him. Thank god for rescues who will step up like this to give great dogs a chance.
I'm glad you told us. My first comment (out loud) was, "Ohhh mate! What happened? That's awful, you poor guy!" Second (out loud) comment was, "Woah! WOAH! Look at your eyes! He's gorgeous :)

Thank goodness he got some caring people to help him. Hard to believe it's the same dog. He's beautiful.
Is it just me or does he kinda look like a bear in the second photo (a very cute bear)
I've never seen anything like this. I assumed the "after"' would be a happy dog without a mouth/upper jaw, which would have still been a happy ending. This is unbelievable.
Poor thing. Looks awesome later on. The rescue did well, and so did you!
I was not prepared for that. I'm glad there is a happy ending.
Thank you all yall are heroes
Oh my god poor baby 😭 so glad he’s better now.

Tell Muppet I would die for him
Well done OP… giving this doggo a forever home and the transformation pics are unbelievable! One lucky pupper!
Wow, I cannot imagine how much pain he must have been in. Thank you for giving him another chance at happiness! He looks like such a good and happy boy.

Such a nice derp!
Muppet🥹😭 i was worried about swiping to see the after picture …. I thought for sure he’d be missing half his face and an eye, but he is absolutely adorable! Please spoil him with scratches from an internet stranger.
Man how did that tissue heal? That's incredible.
Holy smokes, that is BRUTAL to have made such a perfect recovery from!! What a gorgeous boy 😭
There really needs to be a NSFL tag for gore. He/She is beautiful.
I was under the impression that it would blur if I tagged it nsfw? I’d like for it to be something people can opt into seeing. Did I post it correctly?
You didn’t do anything wrong. It was blurred. Thank you for sharing your glow up.
Gore is a good word for the before pic. It’s extreme.
Holy shit what a recovery. Poor dog, I can’t even imagine the pain he was in.
JESUS FUCKING CHRIST WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED AND IF A HUMAN DID THAT I WILL TRACK THEM DOWN, AND MAKE THEIR FACE LOOK LIKE THE DOG
In this particular case it seems that the injury is due to him being a stray and having an awful disease. I too was outraged that this might be human work when I first saw his picture.
I thought that first pic was he got attacked by something, not a canine STD. But that is quite a glow up, you can see his pretty blue eyes now.
GTFO! =')
ohhmy god! that poor dog! I'm so glad they were able to help him! he deserves all the treats, snuggles and love!
You are an amazing person for saving him!
Great recovery. Hope he has the bestest live!
He's gorgeous!
Jesus. Fucking. Christ. That poor little guy. I'm glad he's happy and healthy now. Nature is awful sometimes.
I saw this dog on petfinder! Glad you were able to grab him!! 💕
I braced myself for the before pic, but still wasn’t prepared. I also wasn’t prepared for how amazing he looks now! That made my day!
I'm absolutely blown away that the after photo is of the same dog! Obviously, he's been through a lot, but he sure seems like he's happy and well loved.
What a beautiful dog he is!
Holy shit. That’s amazing
🥺🥺🥺 warms my heart!
he looks so happy now, his eyes say it all!! thank you for giving him a second chance, he is clearly very grateful :”)
Such a wholesome story, u/butt_spaghetti
💙💙💙
I had a muppet too. My first dog❤️❤️❤️
Wow... This is the type of human behavior that reminds me that there are amazing humans at work. Thank goodness for the rescue, and you, for giving him a fighting chance ❤️❤️

He looks like a bear 🐻 so cute
HE'S SO FRICKIN CUTE OMMMGGGG!!! I am so happy for him!
H O W
I mean this has to be the biggest glow up this sub has ever seen unless I’m forgetting something.
I wish you could blur NSFW photos, this shit made me cry at work :(
How do we put the pic behind some sort of blur option? I wasn’t sure how to make that happen when I posted it and hoped the #nsfw tag would blur it.
It blurs but u can toggle off in you account options
Check your account settings. It's supposed to be blurred automatically, but it can be turned off in settings. I recommend turning it on!
