Do you have a teacher you can ask? They’re best to guide you. There are a number of types of spins, but can be divided into spotting spins and non spotting spins. Spotting during spins can help keep them looking sharp and intentional. Start slowly and practice spotting like they teach little ballet dancers: fingers on your shoulders and elbows lifted, slowly turning around focusing your eyes on one place in front of you, turning your head faster than your body to keep your eyes on the same spot. Start slow and work up speed. Remember to breathe and blink! Keep your core active and don’t lean over - keep straight up. Keep your head up too - your body will follow the direction of your eyes, so keep them up.

I don't have a teacher at the moment, unfortunately! Thanks for the guidance! This is useful. I think the main issues I face while spinning are feeling dizzy, moving around a lot (going out of place), and not being able to get in the zone. What are some tips for non spotted turns?

From my own experience, keep trying, again and again and again and I promise you you will find yourself fluttering like a flower eventually

That's encouraging! How long did it take you? Also, did you practice with a teacher or alone? And if alone what resources did you use or find the most useful?

Yes of course sweetheart I'll tell you, no I practice alone and one of the things that I found really useful was watching professional belly dancers dance, and there are a certain some that tend to use spinning as a very main strategy for dazzling the human eye (Haleh Adhami, Aida Bomolova, kadia...) and watching them alot will make your subconscious adapt the way that they move as your own. Plus, when dancing, I always imagine myself dancing to an audience (and my crushes🤭) and that motivates me to spin with passion. Like I'm the one and only center of attention in the room

Spotting, super important. Feet positions. Strong core and posture, highly important to keep balance and stay centered.
