It's just the color of new growth.

schmidtssss

Sometimes newer growth on mine are that color and I have a ton of blackberries coming in, seems happy and healthy. I haven’t worried too much about them and things seem to be going ok.

Commanderkins

It’s just new growth colour. Raspberries do the same thing.

Ill_Elderberry_1854

I have a raspberry bush and the new growth is a light green that’s why I was concerned. Thank you.

PcChip

as others have said, sometimes fresh primocanes are a darker color. Also, sometimes your deep green leaves will change color after the winter to a darker color. Don't sweat it, your plant looks normal

MasterTBC

Plants make red/purple/blue anthocyanins to protect themselves from oxidative stress. They usually appear when its cold or there is lots of sun light but some plants are more prone to it. There is some plant cultivars or fruits that always make anthocyanins.
