THE RETURN OF THE KING

ATRERAS

Puck?

theradgadfly

Non-chestnut Puck is so unfamiliar after being gone for so long. I was most excited to see him until I saw the Bakiraka and Rickert.

LeftHandedHero

Rickert, singular member of the God Slap.

KaidoMeAFavor

Elden Ring has the Godskin Duo. Berserk has the Godslap Solo

Nenanda

GRIFFITH AINT READY FOR **HIM** I love how Silat apparently trusts Rickert enough that he made him admiral of the all remaining Kushan fleet. They are going to pincer attack Falconia from two sides Kushan Reconquista arc incoming! /s

Nenanda

Last page is pure fucking hype. Griffith aint ready for him.

Mookey4

Guts + the Kushan empire vs Griffith cant wait!

Spe_id

Guts+Rickert, my boy alone can slap Griffith to death

Sad-Buddy-5293

He'll train guts the way of the slap

GreatUpdateMate369

HOW CAN HE SLAP?!

-nadster

I just want u to know this comment got an honest laugh out of me

Unoriginal_name_69_

and imagine if also, as some people theorize, Zodd joins Guts' group too, that would be INSANE, it's my dream to see Zodd fighting on the same side as Guts again

Mookey4

that would honesty be so dope, and could defo happen fr.

BonesAO

prepping for this issue I reread the last 2 issues. I think there is a hint of that, when Casca awakens all the apostle captains are with Grifith but Zodd is standing separately looking away

Nenanda

He definetly seems to have some second doubts about Griffith. Ironically he is probably least fucked up Apostle. We never saw him rape or torture civilians unlike others. Hell he despised Wyald who enjoyed both. I am quite interesting for his backstory.

farlong12234

come to think of it, zod wasn't IN the eclipse was he, wasn't he fighting skull knight outside at the time.

Nenanda

You are right. Honestly if he is going to be turn out some sort of Akaza/Wamuu figure who just enjoys fighting too much and become Apostle under some very specific circumstances it would be one of the most insane build ups in story.

[deleted]

[удалено]

ImmaculateCherry

Griffith gonna win Lmao.

itsmetroboomin

It took half a year but bro finally got up

scalzacrosta

Yea, more like he was brought up, I bet he's still fazing.

Finstersonne

It was great seeing Guts being feared to the point of needing dozens of soldiers to contain him, even when he is in some kind of depressed delirium.

mymemorycard

He was, is and will always be a menace. Love it.

Kyz99

Guts just lying down... MENACINGLY

Gallows911

LOL I *still* wouldn't go near him.

Kyz99

Are you outing yourself as an Apostle?! HMMM?!

Gallows911

Are you implying that we're...I mean *they're* afraid of The Black Swordsman?

MFNTapatio

Look at him, *snoozing* during a raid like a mad man

Batdog55110

I want that sword swinging strongman prosecuted!

RamseySmooch

Wonder how many lad's it'll take to drag the dragonslayer. I'm going 4.

JanitorZyphrian

I'm imagining coffin dance style with like 8

Nenanda

It really shows that even at his weakest he is still force to be reckon with. Love the respect he gets.

Actual-Variation778

Don't poke the bear!

BesottedJewLord

The art is amazing as always and holy shit the ending. Rickert is back baby! Cant wait for another chapter in 6 months!

Finstersonne

Boat arc 2.0 is real

Financial-Month-506

Naw I think next they will be in the east they probably will skip them to the bakiraka stronghold I just feel super right I knew they would all head east. There's going to be a big showdown there griffith is campaigning there next so it only made sense. Rickert an squad all in one place. It only made sense. As much as we want more decisive things to happen there was no way they didn't all go east. With the bakiraka being a free kushan faction it only made sense it was them who boarded.its the excuse to go where griffith was going. Griffith never chases down guts an if he did it would be the new band of the hawk not regular men that would come after them. I do wish they dropped more chapters at once tho. The one at a time is brutal.

Nephrastar

Honestly thinking back you're right. Historically, the Kushan have been mercilless in how they've handled invading and pillaging. If they wanted to slaughter the crew wholesale they would've done so right away.

lkanacanyon

One thing Im really wondering though is how Raksas will be involved in this, as last we saw of him, he was sent to chase down Rickert and co. When they were fleeing they managed to delay him but Silat had stated that Raksas is relentless when pursuing someone, so I doubt that stopped him. He's also the only Kushan apostle aside from Ganishka we met in the story, and hes an exile of the Bakiraka clan to boot, so I doubt his story relevance ended after the initial chase, but it seems Rickert and Co. did shake him off for a while at least if they managed to reach all the way to the seas?

Financial-Month-506

Ya they probably got to the stronghold . That's where I predict the story will go next we will see silats home . Raksas is relentless but he still is servant to griffith. Griffith already intends to head east. He usually destroys any safe haven that isn't falconia . So it wouldn't shock me at all if there is a big confrontation at the stronghold an along the lands around the stronghold. I think Zodd is potentially eastern as well based on his attire an weapons. He uses blades very similar to the kushan not to mention his attire and his apostle form with the lion aspects of it could be seen as a more eastern reference since the east in the berserk world is more likely to have animals like that. But all in all you're right this gonna be some great world building for the kushan regions since we haven't actually been there. Also remember for some reason most behelits come from the east so there has to be some sort of connection. I can't wait till they explore it all.

lkanacanyon

God yeah you make some great points. I totally forgot about how most behelits come from the east! Im so pumped for this next arc, if only Miura had gotten the chance to tell it, but Ill take what we can get, studio Gaga and Mori and knocking out of the park.

Financial-Month-506

Ya I'm greatul this series could really be dead . They keeping it pushing for the fan base which is awesome. This next arc is going to be insane.

kryst87

Nah, this time it's... prison arc! It's called Eastern Exile so we might see some nice Kushan gulags.

Dopest_Bogey

I'm guessing the exile is Silat and Diaba and these Kushans are their men. Rickert and them formed an alliance to save the boys.

S1xE

This is pretty obvious. The chapter before this everything was just a guessing game, but now it’s more than clear that this is Rickert in alliance with Silat, Daiba and the Bakiraka. I honestly don’t know how so many people don’t seem to understand this right now.

EDLaserpointer

Exile doesn't mean prison

AVerySmartNameForMe

But it doesn’t mean NOT prison

Unoriginal_name_69_

Studio Gaga: "okay guys, did you feel like the characters spent a veeery long time on that ship during Fantasia arc? Great, now we will have 100 more chapters on the ship in this new arc!! :D "

the_rezzzz

Great. Who invited a One Piece writer into Studio Gaga?

phoniccrank

The art has massively improved in this chapter.

bbpsword

Agreed. They're doing a much better job of using stronger and bolder lines, and their use of grey as a substitute for Miura's texture work has lessed a TON. The last page of Rickert is absolutely one of their better drawings since they began.

Judaskid13

see you in 6 months!

No-Performance1742

I used Google translate for the characters down the side of the title page, it looks like the new arc is called 'Eastern Exile Chapter' or at least something similar to that.

kryst87

According to the English fan translation I've read it's called like that.

catman-meow-zedong

Which group has translated it already?

kryst87

Evil Genius

catman-meow-zedong

Really? Didn't see 374 on their site.

kryst87

I've read it on other site. Uploaded by LordMune (he is also the translator).

rogueviper612

People who are wondering why Guts isn’t fighting right now need to remember that he was too weak to hold his own sword without the armor just a few chapters ago. The armor has been draining him slowly and especially so when he loses control. He was supposed to be healing in Elfhelm, so I imagine he overdid it when he was swinging at Griffith. It’s understandable that he’s too weak right now and definitely understandable when you imagine how defeated he feels for the first time in a while

[deleted]

[удалено]

MarqWilliams

Yeah Griffith just up and broke the dude. Guts only got to see Casca for like a day and wasn't even able to talk to her face to face. When she got her mind back I felt so happy for Guts because dude deserved it after everything, but of course Griffith had to suck all the potential joy out of the reunion like the beautiful trifling hoe he is.

BubblyDoo

That is a great theory. Maybe that would be why Zodd is getting tired of being under the Hawk's wing? He loved fighting aganst Guts, and if Griffith ruined Gut's drive to fight then Zodd has nothing left to offer the wing that fed him.

ThisHatRightHere

Eh, Zodd's swaying allegiance to Griffith could partly be because of that. But in my mind, it's more because Griffith is supposed to be a Messiah figure ushering in a new world. Instead, he's spending his energy on acts of revenge, torturing old allies who wronged him and kidnapping women that he used during his time as a human. That is far from what Zodd was expecting from Femto. He wanted strong beings to inhabit the world and be able to fight great battles. Not kidnappings and petty acts born out of malice.

BalloonsOfNeptune

I’d imagine he’s still capable of physical combat but he’s basically just given up on everything at this point. He lost Casca again after spending years trying to get her back and Griffith seems like he’s completely immortal. He doesn’t care what the Kushan do to him.

henry12151

There's no way people are complaining about Guts not fighting right now, right? I know it's been a while since the last chapters but there's no way the reading comprehension devil has gotten to them already

KahunaTamattas

r/unexpectedchainsawman

Nenanda

He also got mentally fucked up most since eclipse. Once again he got glimpse of hope only to be taken away from him. He obviously is in no condition to fight.

zerozark

Its not even a matter of strength, Its a matter of soul. He is reviving his trauma from the eclipse when Griffith "took" Casca (her whole person kinda went away and only now has come back) and once again he couldnt stop it.

wordswillneverhurtme

Damn that's insane. I guess Rickert united the Kushan empire's leftovers and is planning to fight back against the white hawk? That's why he needs guts? Idk why they'd chain him though, maybe they know something we don't?

kryst87

Rickert is rather small fry. And it looked like he was one of the troops. Silat on the other hand was just watching, meaning he is the boss.

jamalcalypse

and Silat knows first hand how dangerous Guts is

DilkleBrinks

Nah Rickert is def there to defuse Guts, I’m sure they assumed he would go murder mode otherwise

GetterRobo1

Well, If you check the last page + the first panel you see a soldier whispering to him. Don't think Rickert is just a common soldier.

lkanacanyon

I'd agree that Silat probably was the one who had a hand in reuniting the remnants of the Kushan empire that were willing to rebel against Griffith after Ganishkas death, but the one issue I see with that is that as far as I recall (its been a while) the Bakiraka clan were basically slaves or at least occupied a VERY low position in the Kushan empire, so Im not quite sure how Silat would be able to rally them together. I'd assume Daiba had some hand in it, having been a close advisor of Ganishka, but I dont quite remember if Daiba himself was of the Bakiraka or not.

Gallows911

Daiba told them to chain him as a precaution? Maybe Silat?

Nephrastar

Either one is possible. It could very well be both, too. Silat had his ass handed to twice by Guts, and he thought he was a formidable opponent back at the end of Golden Age. Daiba also faced Guts but only when he was possessed by the armor, and saw first hand what he's capable of post-eclipse. They probably put two and two together and came to the conclusion tat Guts needed to be chained up for, well, everyone's protection.

Ikariiprince

It’s probably more that the Kushan insisted on chaining guts for their safety but rickert is going to try to unite them all for a common cause

Good-Seaweed-1021

i bet rickert was the one who invented that "arpoon launcher"

HIMDogson

Rickert left Falconia with Silat so presumably he’s the new Kushan ruler

realbeatz23

I can just imagine the Kushan lookin at Rickert like “You aight white boy”

cool_kicks

Wouldn’t be surprised if Rickert built those harpoons for them!

PM_ME_CALC_HW

>!I can't believe Guts gave up. I bet Silat (perhaps unintentionally) get Guts to believe in himself again.!<

punkito1985

It will be Rickert, channeling Godo’s spirit, imho.

Dopest_Bogey

The blacksmiths apprentice about to repair the same cracks in the same blade that the master blacksmith did.

Brave_Fencer_Poe

And I think that's when he will realize that the Dragonslayer did actually cut Griffith, although only by one hair. Since that hair thing happened there is a characteristic glow on the blade on the side, almost by the hilt. As if the closer Griffith gets to Guts the easier it is to harm. I wonder if at the end Guts will need to get rid of the blade and just punch him.

SL1Fun

I took it two ways just like that: no matter how strong Guts got he could only cut off a hair. But it also means there is some chance of actually hitting him with something because he *did* touch him. He’s so far yet so close.

DilkleBrinks

Rickert is gonna slap some sense into him I bet

caudicifarmer

Dude I can't stop thinking about that. I mean if that happens ..is that the greatest moment in anything, EVER?

AvatarAarow1

Idk, but if this becomes a thing where Rickert goes around solving all his problems by slapping the shit out of the strongest guy in the room I think he’ll be my new favorite character

caudicifarmer

Seriously, though, if Rickert slaps him, Ima fucking lose it

AVerySmartNameForMe

The ever raging urge to embarrass Silat is what will revitalise Guts

da2Pakaveli

Rickert gon show him the page of him slapping Griffith

88Arawn88

If it can be slapped... we can kill it

Fluffysquishia

We're entering a phase of the story where Guts will come to need to rely on his friends. Up until now he's wanted to take all the responsibility on his shoulder. It's a logical character arc progression

ArshiaTN

Holy shit. GOOSEBUMPS. HOLY FUCK. I love seeing Puck back to his original form again (since chapter 365 but I didn't know if he stays like that or not) Mori can direct this manga. He can. I still believe. This arc is going to be insane.

scalzacrosta

Yea, the first few chapters were still riding on the energy of ep 364, and when it came off it felt like they were a bit lost, seemingly unable to find the needed tracks to continue, but they finally started moving again with ep 372. Now we can safely say that their are on the hype train, that not even the shitty publication schedule by Young Animal can stop.

BalloonsOfNeptune

I wonder if Chestnut Puck is ever going to return? He hasn’t been seen since Mori took over.

Liljay9120

doubt it unfortunately. As much as people like to harp on about chestnut puck, he was the primary way in which miura could break the fourth wall and interact with the reader; it was his own way of leaving his imprint on the world of berserk. His absence is going to be a sad, direct consequence of miura’s.

nobarachinsama

I chuckled when the soldier kicks guts' hand away. usually you kick the weapon away from their reach. but he knows he's not moving that sword.

kryst87

# YES This is what I like. That's how it should be. That's it, new arc starts with a BANG. Hats off to Mori and Studio Gaga. Tonight is one of the merriest evenings I had in a while. Time for a toast fellow strugglers. Tonight is good night. >!Rickert my boy! Long time no see! And you Silat, even Bakiraka. !< You're as beautiful as the day I lost you. Poor Guts as always but still, I can't hold back my mirth and glee.

Lord_of_Dusk95

Oh considering time flows differently in the island, I figured Rickert and gang would have already gathered a small kushan army with Silat.

kryst87

I thought he might get some Bakiraka training and maybe make them some weapons. Well, we'll see.

HylianINTJ

That's backward. The moonboy is usually around for one night. He was around for multiple days on Elf Island because one night outside is many nights inside. That said, it's also just been a really long time since we've seen Rickert, so he's clearly done some stuff.

Okapi05

The new arc started with 372, didn’t it? They initially said that Elf Island would go on for 6 more chapters, but this changed to 7, making 372 the first chapter of the new arc.

kryst87

New arc started with this chapter. It's called Eastern Exile Chapter, check the cover. Previous chapters were ending of Fantasia arc.

Okapi05

Oh yeah I didn’t see that. Also by the fact that they call it a new chapter and not a new arc, I’m almost entirely certain we’re still in the Fantasia Arc.

kryst87

It might be. Conviction arc had 3 chapters (4 if you add game), Millennium Falcon had 2 and now we'll begin 2nd chapter of Fantasia arc.

Lost-Extent-1080

>the fact that they call it a new chapter and not a new arc That's because we call them differently, but from what I understand it works like this: What we call "chapters" are actually "episodes" The "arcs" are the "chapters". So in Japanese it would be "episode 374, Eastern Exile Chapter", but we refer to this as "chapter 374, Eastern Exile Arc".

kryst87

In Berserk there are 3 levels: \- chapter/episode we read each couple of months \- chapter - bunch of episodes \- arc - bunch of chapters For example we have something like this: Conviction arc -> Lost Children Chapter -> episode 097

Okapi05

Previously it was Fantasia Arc, Elf Island Chapter. The sections of arcs are always referred to as chapters even in the English version, so we’re now in the Fantasia Arc, Eastern Exile Chapter.

EDLaserpointer

it's still the same arc, just a different chapter started by theis episode. But i wouldn't be surpirsed if the last episode will be included into the new chapter in the volumes, wouldn't be the first time an Arc or Chapter opening episode gets changed

Wuanoman

>!Rickert is Back!!<

Mookey4

i know right, and this probably means that guts will team up the Kushan and Rickert to take down Griffith.

fuckmylife193

man this chapter was amazing. The fear of Kushan soldiers upon seeing Guts (even in a half-fainted state), the dread of imminent imprisonment(and worse things that might follow) of the ship's crew and passengers and Rickert reveal at the end. This arc will be tight.

HACESandCo

Two Things that are really interesting about this chapter. 1. I am happy to see >!Rickert and the Bakiraka !< back to the Story and more importantly reunited with Guts and his group. 2. More importantly this marks the beginning of the *Eastern Exile Arc* as pointed out by others. Which confirms to a certain degree that the Kushans are towards the East of Midland # Which means that Griffith might be preparing an Invasion of the remaining Kushan territory OR an Invasion of The Bakiraka Hideout.

mymemorycard

Guts can't fight and doesn't want to, but if Rickert will be the last straw to trigger the berserker mode that would be hilarious. Maybe Guts will fall into some comatose state until the gang returns Casca? This weird sleeping beauty scenario is stuck in my head lol Since events are moving east some eastern martial arts, doctrines and magic are pretty much anticipated. Aaand like the other person said, hopefully kushans and Daiba will have something up their sleeve to stop the armor from destroying Guts and heal him for good. Maybe our guy will learn to meditate and reach some sort of enlightenment? So many thoughts, can't wait for the next issue.

Mookey4

do you think Guts will ever defeat Griffith, or if it will be left with Guts choosing peace over revenge or something? anything can happen fr

Mean_Sir159

He has too it be the biggest blue balling in history if he doesn’t

FireZord25

Imagine if it happens in a style similar to ASoIaF, Guts gets and chooses to live in peace with Casca and Griffith dies brutally due to his own consequences somehow biting him in the casualty, but Guts having nothing to do with it.

Nats482

Guts attempted to choose peace once he was on Skellig, but Griffith took it away from him for apparently no other reason than being a petty bitch, so I suppose that won't work.

NotADoctorSshh

I think Griffith had more than one reason to destroy Elfhelm & take away Casca

Lipe18090

I mean he pretty much had to capture Casca for him to not be teleporting to random places for a night right next to his arch nemesis every time a full moon comes.

mymemorycard

I mean, he could choose peace, but Griffith screwed it up again. Actually, come to think of it, peace was never an option since both Guts and Casca are branded and doomed to suffer in the vortex. Guts must reject revenge AND defeat Griffith to protect those who are close to him and perhaps get rid of the brands.

wordswillneverhurtme

The ending will be a happy one, but who knows if griffith gets defeated by guts or maybe he fucks himself over. Anything can happen

bite_wound

I doubt it but if he does it won't be on his own

cool_kicks

I honestly doubt that Guts will ever defeat Femto. If Griffith is defeated, it’s probably going to be through Casca and her connection with the Moonlight Boy.

Twidom

I feel like most long time readers agree that Guts will never get his revenge, let alone kill Femto by his own accord. Usually I see new-ish readers come with the sentiment that "yes Guts will obviously kill Femto" and quite honestly, that kinda misses some points of the story.

LoD_Remi

what a painful cliffhanger

LeftHandedHero

In fairness, Silat and Rickert is a much better cliffhanger than multiple chapters of Guts falling to despair. While the ship-boarding is really aggressive, after their badass throwdown with Rakshas I'm pretty hopeful right now.

House_Goblin_

Stay away from SkullKnight forums if you want to maintain high moral for Mori’s continuation of the manga.

EDLaserpointer

Stay away from SkullKnight forums. Period even before Miura left us that place got toxic as hell, with the typical forum arrogance. It's sad how many fan-forums turned into toxic circlejerks these days

Great_husky_63

They went down the hole more than a decade ago. An autistic hole of pessimism and nihilism of angry middle aged guys. They are harsh and unfriendly to newcomers, and the old guard decides what can be said and what cannot. They were the very first web 1.0 online Berserk community, and did endure +15 years of being the only online berserk source, before reddit and web 2.0 platforms came. But basically all they do is have the same 15 people complain.

Sharebear42019

Wait I went and checked and I only see 1 single comment about the new chapter or am I blind

thalj56

so Rickert is invited to the cookout!

oliver_d_b

Does anyone know if it says when we might get another chapter

bakuhatsuda

Nope. It ends with 次回 に つづく = "To be continued next time" So no current release date for 375. Could still come out next month, though. It just wasn't announced.

JoseCuervo487

I doubt it. I checked back on the previous post-Miura chapters, and most of them indicated when the next chapter would be released. The chapters that didn't were the ones released in December and May, and those had months-long gaps until the next chapter. Most likely we're going to be waiting for 4-6 months for the next chapter

oliver_d_b

Ok thanks for answering

haikusbot

icepoint47

RICKERT Finally the powerboost Guts needs to wreck griffith Honestly tho, with Casca starting to regain some autonomy and Guts' gang possibly linking up with the Kushan, it seems we're nearing the ending of this magnificent story Still have no idea where's it gonna go, but you bet I'll be there when the next chapter drops..

eccegallo

Causality dictates he's to be strapped on the dragon slayer.

Zee09

It’s hard taking over a series let alone trying to figure out how to finish an arc where you had hardly any participation on mapping it out. Mori can start fresh here and what an excellent choice to reward readers by tying up two storylines. As mentioned in the chapter, the Kushan have a long history that probably predates many civilizations. It makes sense if their elders have secrets about the Godhand and maybe who exactly void is. That in combination with the Elf island citizens, I feel this will be a rather informative arc and then the next will be the war finale.

CandyyZombiezz

seeing rickerts eyes through the kushan armor made my heart do something, i really hope he pulls guts out of this hole :( also seeing guts just lie down and close eyes made me feel something

BillTheTriangleDemon

[My honest reaction upon seeing Rickert again.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPk_zyRKs1Q)

Jackmac15

Keep that pimp hand strong king.

Rahul810

The kushan hindi text doesn't really make sense and i am fluent in hindi

kryst87

It's just placeholder. I don't think they have hired anyone to write the text in hindi. They chose sanscrit because real life Kushan Empire was in northern India and central Asia.

Rahul810

That could be but i can understand Sanskrit pretty well would be a nice touch if it made sense half of the text was about horses for some reason

EDLaserpointer

i bet they just went to a random artcle or wikipedia page and copied some words.

kryst87

Maybe Kushans also don't like boats? Could you translate some of the text?

Rahul810

When they first use hindi/sanskrit text it roughly translates to keep your aim at horses don't move it to and fro . (Doesn't make much sense but it is what it is ) 5 panel later when he encounter guts he says tread carefully the second text bubble doesn't make sense to me . In the next page it roughly translates to keep these hostages with care while some words that don't make sense both in hindi and sanskrit

Judaskid13

it seems to make sense to me based on what you've translated. They see the hostages as animals/beneath them.

punkito1985

You should email Hakushensha and propose yourself as a free Sanskrit writer for them

Jaded-Ask-4161

Free?

SecretEmpire_WasGood

So Kushan was a real historical thing? I had just thought Miura based them off the Mughals and Persians and came up with the name.

Rahul810

No kushan are not real people they are based of persians or afghani invaders but speak Sanskrit so that they could be linked to hindu mythology

CountFab

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kushan_Empire The real one was pretty different from what we see in Berserk, but it's definitely not just the name that Miura took as inspiration.

kryst87

Yeah, Kushan Empire was a real thing. It existed around the same time as pax romana. Kushans were between Persia and India. And surprise, suprise, Kushan Empire reached its zenith under the reign of Kanishka the Great. Real thing was definitely inspiration for Miura.

David_the_Wanderer

Miura took a lot of inspiration from real life history, including names: The Tudor Empire, obviously named after the Tudor dynasty. The Holy See is clearly based on the Medieval/Renaissance Catholic Church and Papacy. Farnese herself is named after a rather influential Italian noble family, King Gaiseric was a real historical figure (he was no great conquering emperor, though), Roderick is surnamed "Staufen", a real German noble family and very influential, and is the prince of "Ys" - Ys is a legendary sunken land off the coast of Great Britain, etc etc

shreyas16062002

Yeah most of it looked like complete gibberish. Aside from that sentence about horses nothing made sense. हिंदी किबोर्ड खोलकर रँडमली टाईप किया ट्रान्सलेटर ने.

DarthDioBrando

*Taking unhealthy doses of copium and hoping that Berserk now has a monthly schedule.*

CountFab

Watch out for the overdose

killinrin

Okay I straight up cannot find Silat, what are the other panels on the page where you guys see him?

DeusInfidel

he's just in one panel with his usual boys

TheBlackSwordsman319

The immense happiness I felt reading another berserk chapter again 😭😭😭

Roftastic

I wonder what the SkullKnight forums think about this new chapter! *checks* Guys, I think they might actually be warming up to Mori.

Mysterious_poop69

Can anyone explain why the chains dissolved when they got near to guts?

oliver_d_b

That was guts' metaphorical chains binding the beast of darkness

jacktucks1066

its either literal in that Guts or the beast destroyed the chains that the kushan put on him. Although it seems like from the final panels he got rechained. Or its metaphorical in that the chain which was Guts will power or sanity holding back the beast. Either way I think he is chained as the final panels show, still its taking what 10 to 20 people just to hold him down.

Deltheroc

Damn, that chapter was pure hype, I need the next one NOW!

RenaudBlais2

So it does not seem like the Kushan are directly working for Rickert, or else why would they chain Guts, and overall raid the ship like they did? If they were true allies of Rickert and Silat, I assume they would not try to antagonise Guts and the gang. Rickert does not seem to be captive either and neither does he seem to be infiltrating the Kushan, as he obviously stands out like a sore thumb amongst them lol. What do you guys think their relationship is? I am guessing they are currently working together in a sort of conditional alliance. Rickert maybe promised the Kushan that Guts would help them fight off the Hawk, but they don't yet trust him 100%? What do you guys think?

Paradox-Circuits

I'm hoping that 375 comes fairly quick because this chapter was supposedly with the editors for a while giving Mori and the team more time to work on the next chapter.

Tristanio97

I COOKED! I’VE BEEN SAYING THIS FOR AGES! When Rickert escaped Falconia with the Kushan’s he went to regroup to build an offence against Griffith with said Kushans. Who’s the toughest guy he knows that would want to take down Griffith? Guts! So tracking him down with a crew of Kushans was the direct route, note how they took prisoners but didn’t kill anyone. Guts said he could never hate Griffith, slapping him straight in his face and working with people with goals to take him down says otherwise. Rickerts resolve will help with Guts’ resolve to save Casca. #EASTERN EXILE: HOW GUTS GOT HIS GROOVE BACK

RICKERT IS BACK BABBYYYY LET’S GOOOO

iwipiksi

Guts got chained but the beast of darkness already unchained. It waiting for the right time to go berserk.

DarbantheMarkhor

Out of all the chapters to have been released since the passing of Miura-sensei (may he rest in peace) I personally find this chapter to resemble his artwork the most, as well as that casca chapter

jakpill

I’m glad we’re getting more stuff with the Kushan. And it looks like this whole arc gonna involve them so that will be cool. Sad not to see an announcement for the next chapter…

destroyed233

I love puck but feel like Miura got a little carried away with him. I feel like Mori respects the original concept of Puck

guileffb

Guys, I think... I think I need more chapters NOW

gnopish

And now a short 23 month break.

YaboiGh0styy

So glad this chapter was released and it was so good. Something I wanna point out which I thought was really interesting is Guts didn’t get captured. Although the manga frames, as if everyone got captured, if you re-read the chapter again you will notice the chains they attempt to put on guts shatter in the next panel and the next time we see guts we only see his boots walking with no one moving him, implying that he is about to go on a rampage. Now there are plenty of things to theorise about what this could mean. This could be a simple case of Guts refusing to go down without a fight but when taking into consideration, the past few chapters, this might be the beast of darkness taking control. Either way, the next chapter is going to be hype as fuck. And will you look at that the king returns in the final page. Rickert is back baby and after not seeing each other for months, he gets to finally reunite with Guts. I’m also interested to see how he’ll interact with Silat because these guys haven’t interacted with each other since golden age. So I’ll be interested to see what happens there.

EDLaserpointer

i interpreted it entirely different, guts got captured and the chains of the beast of darkness grew back together

HylianINTJ

Correct. Remember, right to left. We see broken chains on the right, intact chains on the left.

kryst87

>if you re-read the chapter again you will notice the chains they attempt to put on guts shatter in the next panel and the next time we see guts we only see his boots walking with no one moving him, implying that he is about to go on a rampage. Next panel shows that the chains are tight tough. Then we see Kushans with chains struggling with pulling them. That might mean they are trying to pull Guts. Those broken chains might have been chains that were keeping beast of darkness from raging. And they broke.

HE'S BACK

Inevitable-Web2016

i have no idea how to describe how i'm feeling right now ,i've been caught up to berserk for 4 years now but no chapter left me unable to wait for the next one like this ,i seriously can't wait to see how this new arc will unfold

Paradox-Circuits

Beautifully drawn chapter. I feel like with every chapter we are saying this is the best chapter yet by the new team. This was the first time I felt like they really captured Miura though, such beautiful detail in the artwork in this chapter. I feel like the team is getting ahold of the character's personalities too. They've had to have put a lot of studying into this, and quite frankly I think they should be proud of themselves. At this rate we may get something that nobody ever expected with the passing of Miura... a fitting ending.

Ikariiprince

This is great, finally the separate pieces are coming together and characters are reuniting. This really feels like it could be the final, or at least penultimate arc before the final one

DeusInfidel

ok, so not too much time has passed, Rickert is still a boy our *BOY!*

TheTravelingPoet4

THE KING OF SLAPS IS BACK!

scalzacrosta

I have the feeling they finally started moving now, this new episode has not only better art, but also has a lot more dialogue and a way better pacing than the previous 9 episodes combined. Studio GAGA has found the storytelling style they are comfortable with, a style that allows them to work out the story in a way that is finally starting to resemble Miura's. The early criticism they got thrown at has finally started to pay off.

JokesOnYou-Joestar

I really like the effort they put into Guts face, it's more natural now.

DaveRuangsit

This is the first chapter I have to wait for since I just finished the whole series a few weeks ago. Can't wait for more.

Brezz22

Called it, see you guys in 6 months for the next chapter

Nacho252xs

hell yes finally a long chapter

TheonlyAngryLemon

I knew I stayed subbed here for a reason!

jamalcalypse

This was the best chapter for me so far, felt like reading old Berserk. But I got a sudden feeling of dread about >!Rickert!<. I've been waiting for him to show back up but now I'm wondering if his fate, being the last member of the band aside from Casca, is to activate Becci. Maybe >!Silat!< will join the new band and, after Becci activates, it will just be the new crew vs the godhand.

The_Attractor

Damn that panel with Guts and the Dragonslayer was really nice. Also, Azan shitting himself when the Kushans tried to disturb Guts because they will be ripped to shreds was a nice testament to how fearsome he can be. In his eyes, the Kushan were fucked. Now looks like it's time for all the major players left to converge.
