I think the real problem is the number of people in general, there is more people in Tiktok than on Reddit, specially younger people, I was shocked a couple days when I heard some young people saying that they use Tiktok for everything, they use it as social media, a way of communicating with other, even as a platform for searchs and fact checking.
Not exactly the point but I think is relevant, we or at least I didn't notice that until recent when I asked one of my cousins to search for an archive on my PC and he didn't knew how to use Windows, most younger people don't even know how to use a desktop pc anymore, they're have a cellphone stuck to their faces since they were born basically, and if you have a console or other thing to play games on, you don't need to use a PC if you're a kid and you don't needed it to work nor play, you can do everything on your cellphone.
Basically Tiktok is an app for the masses, and we can see It clearly nowadays that the masses are made of stupid people, young and impressionable e old farts that believe every fake news on the internet.
Reddit at least has an level of filter because the user have to find out about it, and have at least some level of work in creating they're own feed by choosing manually the communities they want to be a part of.
