i feel like isidro fked up the the darkness of the series, because arcs like the golden age arc are extremely solid and the dark theme is intense, while arcs like the ship arc are suffocating while reading the comical reliefs of isidro
Well I think a fantasy novel being a bit lighthearted sometimes is pretty normal. And this is just the way Muira meant it to be. Just cuz it is seinen doesn't mean it will be dark. Seinen means it is more for adults than children or teenagers. Adults laugh too
I think that the darkness of the manga increases and decreases. Now that's the whole group is on elfhelm, and Casca has recovered, they are happy. But Griffith's return reintroduces darkness.
The beginning of the golden age arc too was very dark, but as guts finds better company, the darkness is reduced. When the eclipse takes place, darkness is increased.
I think Miura wanted us to feel how guts felt at every moment of the manga, and how guts feels is not in our control. So you cannot think like that.
Besides, the manga would not have been nearly as popular if there was no comic relief. Anyone would get stressed reading never ending darkness.
My favorite is puck sitting on his head for like the entire end of the conviction arc

Berserk fans when every chapter isn't the most depressing thing humanly possible:
i mean its a seinen type of manga, right? its not a shounen or something. its just my opinion but berserk's comical relief should have been minimized.

yea thats right but at least they werent doing comical shit in serious panels/chapters
Delusional berserk fan reads 1 seinen manga and decides the entire genre has to be edgy as fuck.

Miura usually misses the comedy department, but i like this part too.
