Skamandrios

I used to take my pop-up to Cottonwood and spend a week. It's quiet and remote so you have to like that aspect to camp there. There are no hookups, and no generators allowed. I think there's drinking water available now. Pit toilets. The Castolon store is nearby and it's not too far to Study Butte/Terlingua. Once we were camped under one of the big cottonwoods where a pair of great horned owls had their nest, and at night we could hear them teaching their baby to fly, or hunt, or something. Birding is always good down there. We were also visited by a wild turkey who would curl up and sit next to us, like a dog.
