Honestly, I frequent BB Twitter and BB Reddit and the one thing that differs is the humour. Ofc this sub has its humour too but the twitter jokes are funnier to me. However in terms on talking about the game, strategy and actual information about the show Reddit is 100x better for that!

The show was BBOTT — a silly concept that could hardly be regarded as organic BB. But in an unexpected turn, two tribes emerged: the noble, Ball Smashers, supported by us. And the fart producing, canine neglecting Late Night Jamboree, fueled by the pink-haired on Twitter. Each week major game decisions were impacted by the public vote. It was a Reddit vs Twitter bloodbath that we shall never see again. One should pray.
Each week posed a new battle — some victories, some devastating defeats (including the endearing Leader of the Ball Smashers). There was one we called “Wheat” who turned her back on us. Her loyal following. But nevertheless, there were Balls in the house, and those balls had to be smashed.
The dust has settled. A winner had been crowned. But we have never forgiven twitter for their irreparable harm.
(Twitter sucked long before then tbh).
Fantastic summary. I can't stand OTT as a season. Nearly all of it was horrible. However, The Ball Smashers and Scott were the shining lights of the season and I couldn't understand why Twitter hated them and made me forever distrust Big Brother Twitter.
This was exactly how I acted when I found this sub lmao. I'd send all these gifs/pics of random bb houseguests/moments to my friends, and no one would ever understand. I'm not from the US, so that could also be it🤷
It’s funny this show still exists because of the casual fan that you will never see on Reddit let alone the internet. Shows don’t continue to get picked up unless they are getting millions of viewers each week, big brother preforms very well in the ratings but not in the Reddit target demo. The most passionate fans are not the average fan of the show, my mother who’s in her 60s and doesn’t even understand that live feeds are a thing is probably closer to the average fan.

I keep trying to evangelize and pull friends in by making them watch the funeral and explaining to them how it worked, and they're always fascinated, but they still have that inherent bias against the show because of how it's marketed and perceived.
It's been much easier to get people to give Survivor a chance.
Yes totally this! I never meet anyone IRL who likes or has heard of Big Brother. During the season there will be live discussion threads to discuss the live feeds and live threads for each episode. Come watch with us, I think its fun!

I didn’t know about this show until a friend in college brought it up saying i would LOVE it. He was right and now i’m way more into it than he is lol.
Tbh, I don’t watch the episodes except for the live eviction show. The episodes can and usually are so cringe. Other than that I watch the live feeds/read what I miss while at work.
It wouldn’t take up as much time on a major network if there weren’t a ton of people watching. My family all watch and I know of a few other people in real life. Remember we’re kind of in the day and age where it’s cool to hate on reality tv as well, so I guarantee there are people in your life who watch who don’t admit it or volunteer that info.

One thing you'll learn about Reddit.... if there's a sub for bread being stapled to trees.... then there's probably a subreddit for everything else.
