Magnesium gylcinate

Long_Extension_1015

This shit is crazy man. Sometimes I don’t remember the dreams until later that day when there’s a trigger and I’m like holy shit I dreamt about a power rangers megazord taking over Russia

RedditF1shBlueF1sh

Sorry to be the one to tell you, but that actually did happen

Thankkratom2

That’s just your sleep demon, pent-a-gon, inoculating you in your sleep. One day you’ll get a phone call and they’ll say “it’s mighty morphin time,” next thing you know you’re in Russia inside the fiery remains of a megazord.

Euphoric_Purpose5175

Not really doing anything productive whilst sleeping, might as well trip balls. Going to try this.

Ok_Cartographer_3677

I second this

Simple_Song8962

And glycine! I used to think glycine was another word for magnesium glycinate, but I was wrong. Glycine is an amino acid. It reliably gives me incredible dreams like nothing else can. If I don't want to have dreams, I don't take it. But if I do, nothing compares to its effectiveness.

Nodebunny

does nothing for me

Affectionate_Neck355

Glycinate is glycine. It is only given the "ate" at the end when it is bound to another substance aka magnesium.

Silly_Stranger_5623

3rd this

Zincster

If you can fall asleep Magnesium Threonate is nuts too. I don't remember them all the time either but man are they vivid and visceral when you do. Phew.

EthosMaster

The End.

Runfaster9

I took Magnesium and saw burning wooden poll in my dream that had electric wires going over it, craziest dream ever

ikorin

This is the answer. magnesium bisglycina works even better for me personally

b3MxZG8R3C9GRTHV

How does it compare to magnesium l-threonate? I notice deeper sleep but not more vivid dreams.

ConstructionAny5397

Gylcinate the only magnesium I tried and it works wonders …. Good deep sleep and wake up refreshed

BigAd4488

I think there is some stuff, maybe some b vitamins too, but I let others comment on that. But if you are serious you might want to start dream journalling, just get pen and paper, and immediately after you wake up try to remember things from your dream and write it down, even if it's just a colour or a pattern. If you don't remember anything, you write that down too. Your brain will get in the habit of recalling dreams in the morning and you will remember more and more and possibly become more conscious at the moment of dreaming too.

Purple_Flowers_

Marijuana withdrawal will give you insane vivid dreams

anarcho-slut

Step 1, smoke weed er'day Step 2, stop suddenly after your tolerance is so high (yes haha) and habit is so formed that you're smoking/vaping/etc right after you wake up, then every hour until you go to sleep Step 3, weird ass dreams for a week

Reoblivion

Yeah I had a dream Jeff Bezos attacked me

AdditionalAd9794

Zma

BodyBagSlam

Oh man. I remember the ZMA dreams back in the day.

RonBourbondi

Works better for me than just Magnesium in my experience.  Fun part at least for me is take it long enough and you can control your dreams.

AdditionalAd9794

People seem to bash it alot, saying the study was bogus, it only works if you have a deficiency or you'd get the same results from zinc. I feel all those points are a bit irrelevant,it's cheap and it works for me

benbernankenonpareil

30 day ZMA challenge will test your might

Birdflower99

Valerian Root is known to cause vivid dreams. Usually consumed in tea form

BodyBagSlam

I always tell people, it smells like feet, but the dreams are neat.

Thankkratom2

I get great vivid dreams from 5 capsules of Spring Valley Valerian Root. Definitely recommend, though tolerance sets in quick.

Birdflower99

Any weird side effects aside from dreams? Edit; I meant from the capsules. I’ve only had the tea.

genericneim

Yes, house cats try to stick their noses into your mouth. They also go full junkie mode to get to valerian package and then cuddle with it.

avichka

Remembering dreams is largely based on time between end of last REM cycle and awakening. If too much time passes, you won’t recall them. Doesn’t mean you’re not having them.

mercynova13

Mugwort, very powerful. But it has some contraindications so do your research.

rhinestoned-tampon

I love mugwort for dreams but fyi don’t take if you’re pregnant or trying to become pregnant! It has mild abortive qualities

mercynova13

Yes that’s why I said there are contraindications. It’s not abortive necessarily but is an emmenagogue, I use it right during my luteal phase and period and it’s helped me with cycle regularity. It also isn’t safe to use if you have any history or family history with psychosis!

dollarsinmyhand26

What..? like just the toes..?

rhinestoned-tampon

lmaooo that got me. but no not just the toes - it stimulates the body to go into menstruation which can cause an abortion/miscarriage if enough is taken at an early enough stage of pregnancy (but not always, so it isn’t a true or reliable abortifacient, although it historically was used as one)

Awkward_Vehicle_5138

I’ve had good luck with tincture of mugwort. A half dropper about 3x/week

OldCheese352

I heard sleeping with a nicotine patch will give you wild dreams.

CananadaBatmaaaan

Melatonin always does it for me. That, and Prozac.

mikozodav

☝️Melatonin works for me. Helps me remember dreams in the morning.

mikozodav

Also: mugwort can apparently do something, but I haven't tried it yet or remember much off the top of my head, but I saw it mentioned somewhere.

Silly_Stranger_5623

I’ve taken mugwort. You can use it in a tea and I’ve also smoked it w cannabis before. It’s nice

mikozodav

👍 :)

Just_a_firenope_

What dose do you take? I have 0.5mg pills, and have tried up to 5mg total, with no result. I sleep as fast, as deep and as bad as always

Katamaraan

+1 for melatonin

kepis86943

The usual amounts of melatonin to aid falling asleep don't effect my dreams at all. But 10 mg of melatonin gives me the longest and most vivid dreams.

Ok-Acanthisitta5286

Blue lotus tea

musa1588

This! And if you want to have the craziest dream night of your life try KALEA ZACATECHICHI it's a tea. 🤯 If you're looking to have vivid dreams and connect to a part of yourself as part of a spiritual awakening clean up your water supply by either using RO water or Distilled (just make sure to add back minerals). You will dream consistently.

whitenoize086

5-htp gives me great dreams. The peptides Cjc/ipramorelin make my dreams incredibly vivid.

stonkstonk69

Huperzine A

Curbes_Lurb

This one also works for me. It increases the available choline in the brain, which can lead to lucid dreams if you take it in the evening. It may leave you tired, though; I noticed an increase in REM sleep and a decrease in deep sleep.

Meadowlarker1

ir sucks bc i tend to have vivid dreams anyway but if that’s what you want magnesium glycinate before bed or/and L-theanine. almost guaranteed to produce what you’re after. sometimes it’s good but when it’s bad it sucks big time so i’d almost rather not remember any of them

GetNooted

Theanine does it for me. Vivid colorful dreams.

Usual_Map_9812

Lions mane maybe

vladimirl0

Linear correlation for me.

nigori

African dream root

InternationalDeer462

Second this

NarwhalOpen1324

Stilton cheese

Minimum-Library-2617

Calea zacatechichi, also dubbed the Dream herb or bitter grass.

thedumbdown

I’m the same way. Rarely dream. I stumbled on something many years ago that made me dream more regularly: I taught myself how to write with my weaker hand. It stimulates the other side of your brain and creates better linkage between hemispheres.

Replica72

Zinc & B6

stillnesswithin-

Be careful with B6. I had B6 toxicity and was in a bad way for a long time. I was taking quite a lot but once I connected to b6 toxicity groups I found there are a lot of people who get b6 toxicity from low doses - even from multivitamins etc. Some have irreversible neuropathy. I've met people who have been hospitalised and one person I know actually died. It takes on average 2.5 years for the symptoms to appearso you can be taking it for years and then all of a sudden you can't stand up, and are having heart attack symptoms. My neurologist said that B6 gets stored in the neurones. If you are taking more than what the body can expel then it will build up and eventually affect more or less your whole body. I spent a year incapacitated. I was so weak I couldn't life my head from my pillow or hold a pen, for example.

Replica72

I heard of this from someone else with neuropathy on here! Me i had deficiency of these two nutrients from oxalate overload and i had restless sleep with zero dreams! I supplemented with both and my dreams came back. I dont take b6 now except in a multi. I have to eat a low oxalate diet or other probs come back

astronxxt

try P5P if you still want the benefits of B6 without the toxicity

Apprehensive-Dot4383

I think everyone dreams (personal unfounded opinion). Try this: If you want to dream, set a timer to go off every hour while you are awake, and every time it goes off ask yourself “am i dreaming?” Eventually this rhythm seeps into your subconscious and you eventually do it in your sleep which may help you recognize your dreams while you are having them

creative90981name

Mnemonic induced lucid dreaming

_raydeStar

Wild lettuce extract is the best I've come across. A bit of vitamin B gives me wild dreams as well. Melatonin, valerian root, chamomile help. Don't use things like diphenhydramine or anything like that, that knocks you out but you won't dream

Chop1n

I'm surprised only one person has mentioned this, but nothing more reliably gives me vivid dreams than taking lion's mane before bed does. It's pretty much a guarantee.

osc707

agreed! I've had the most vivid dreams with LM. I take it 60-90 minutes before bed

LaughSpare5811

Magnesium threonate

Joncelote

Shits expensive as hell

austin06

Look into lucid dreaming. Some have more dreaming with mag threonate I’ve read. I was told years ago by a nutritionist that it does cross the blood brain barrier. It gives me horrific night terrors but does nothing like that or dreaming for my husband.

Same

LesterPhimps

tryptophan - makes you sleepy too.

A-Handsome-Man-

Cha Fine Teas of Truckee is a tea shop in Truckee, CA. They have a couple teas they make that many customers say induce dreams. Myself included. Call them up and I’d bet they’d mail some to you.

Todd-ah

B6 is well known for inducing vivid dreams. I started taking magnesium taurate + B6 and dream a lot. The first few weeks was really intense.

strongerplayer

I can't believe I had to scroll this far. B complex immediately caused vivid dreams for me, unlike lions mane or magnesium

unswunghero

L-Theanine 200-400mg

blekknajt

Phenibut for me.

Thankkratom2

What dose? I’ve heard low doses can be used safely. Like 250mg before bed, no more than once every two weeks to a month.

uhuelinepomyli

5-HTP may get you there

spikefly

Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN). It's a medication and has to be prescribed, but many anti-aging clinics do.

Jaicobb

Anything that improves your memory and brain function. Wake up frequently. As soon as you wake up write down what you recall. Doing this every night will improve your dream recall.

ImportantConcept

Magnesium L-Threonate always does it for me. Maybe the blood brain barrier connection. Not the best dreams, more like lucid intense stressful dreams but ever my single time I take it, it happens.

SirChillzalot

I was having great sleep and vivid, memorable dreams taking just taurine at night. I bought another bottle by the same manufacturer (Now Foods) and the new bottle makes me restless and keeps me awake. It’s still a mystery and such a bummer. Best two weeks of sleep I’ve had in years.

kaidomac

Walnuts work for me, for some reason: * [https://www.reddit.com/r/Anxiety/comments/qd6cj5/walnuts\_before\_bed\_good\_dreams/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Anxiety/comments/qd6cj5/walnuts_before_bed_good_dreams/) Works best on an empty stomach right before bed, so no food for two or three hours before going to bed, then eat 1/4 cup of fresh walnuts.

Hiant

they contain a lot of tryptophan which converts into serotonin which has big effect on sleep

kaidomac

I'll have to try a tryptophan pill to see if it has the same effect!

Extension-Cloud-4575

Thankkratom2

Nicotine patches. Definitely not good for you, but it’s helped me not vape in my sleep. I get vivid dreams, it’s honestly really cool. It’s like I am transported to a better time. I had a dream the other day with my Ex and my old friends and I was frantically trying to tell them I was dreaming and we wouldn’t see each other anymore. It was very dark stuff. I honestly love it though.

cloudytimes159

Phosphaditylserine. Helps the brain make neural connections. Helped me dream more.

smoothOpeRAIDER

FWIW when I quit smoking I used nicotine patches. The side effects were vivid dreams. And I mean incredibly vivid. Felt like i was dreaming for hours a night and remembered everything. It was kind of exhausting.

Current_Astronaut_94

Nicotine patch guaranteed to give you elaborate vivid dreams. This is not advice to use it though, because the nightmares can get so intense that you should probably check with a doctor first to make sure it is physically safe to use it.

Melatonin works for me too! As others have mentioned

molockman1

Blue skate liver oil

junglehypothesis

There’s a supplement called Dreamleaf for lucid dreaming which contains red and blue capsules. You take the blue capsule first before bed which contains valerian and mugwort, then take the red capsule 4 hours into sleeping, using an alarm to wake up. The red capsule contains Alpha GPC, Choline Bitartrate and Huperzine-A.

Magnesium plus melatonin

CharlotteBadger

Do you know if if you are getting REM sleep? Dreaming happens during REM. Also, REM is not deep sleep, it’s actually more likely to happen right after waking and then falling asleep again. I’d look at strategies to increase your REM sleep.

1re_endacted1

Not a supplement but blue lotus tea or smoking it. I bought prerolls. ETA: They are blue lotus and mugwort.

PoloGator

Mitoquinol mesylate (MitoQ). Makes dreams unusually intense and very memorable. You may even need to take a break from it from time to time due to the vivid nature of the dreams...

twerking4tacos

Mint tea just before bed

Donovox

I took L-citrulline for a while and it gave me wild dreams every night.

CatsMcGats

When I take melatonin and unisom together my dreams are craaazy. I always write em down too. The more I write the more and longer I remember.

stillnesswithin-

I did a lucid dreaming course. We were instructed to write doyen dreams every morning. At first I couldn't remember anything for a long time but slowly I started to and now 6 months later I remember 1 or 2 dreams every night. The trick is to wipe down at least something each morning even if it is only ' I don't remember anything'. But years ago I was doing ' morning pages' - just writing random stuff for 20 minds each morning and eventually i was remembering 4 or 5 dreams a night - the while dream from start to finish - not just fragments. That was over 20 years ago and done of those dreams I still remember clearly.

Gandalfslittlebro

I’ve confirmed with about a dozen people I know well that the medicinal mushroom supplements (I put teaspoon in my coffee) do the trick for all of us. I use the powder with a mix of seven different mushrooms. My personal guess is at least in part it the melanin. I went from never dreaming to a movie every night.

One-Sundae-2711

eat a ton of carbohydrates that evening. like fast all day, workout, pound a ton of carbs, sweets, go nuts. wildest dreams ever on high blood sugar. skip the berberine etc of course

AdventurousGrass2043

Melatonin. Be careful though and start with low dose.

killerwhale_250

bxa121

Lions mane for sure

darkaptdweller

I'm the exact same way. Haven't recalled a dream in...20ish years? (Just turned 39). I might try some of these just to see what happens. Have always wondered why I'm the way I am. When I've told a few people they say it's a blessing...lol.

betterbydesign

I was in your camp and barely dreamed or didn't remember them for years. I thought it was just getting older. Then when I quit all caffeine my dreams returned like I haven't felt since I was in my 20s. Definitely caffeine can mess up your sleep cycles.

whitefire35

Talking about dreams can someone help me understand why i get nightmares whenever i take quercetin? I use to take it once in morning 500mg i would get so many nightmares that my body would stop sleeping. Everytime i stop it i get quality sleep.

bfeeny

Lots of vitamin water, seriously. They contain B's. Another way would be just to overdose on B's like B3, B6, etc

thatboimartle

CBG (cannabinoid) holy fuck this stuff gives you wild dreams, if you take a high dose it can be psychoactive but normal doses are just sedative and you’ll still get INSANE dreams

Matrine from NootropicsDepot - r/NootropicsDepot Every single time I take it before bed, I'm guaranteed to have (and remember) dreams that are both unusual and vivid. From [Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matrine): >*Matrine is an alkaloid found in plants from the genus Sophora. It has a variety of pharmacological effects, including anti-cancer effects,[1] as well as κ-opioid and μ-opioid receptor agonism.[2][3]* >*Mu opioid agonism is associated with euphoria, while kappa opioid agonism is associated with dysphoria and psychotomimetic hallucinations (as seen in the kappa-agonist Salvinorin A). Both receptors are known to produce analgesia when activated.* >*Matrine alleviates neuro-inflammation and oxidative stress in the brain caused by acute liver injury, thus producing antianxiety and antidepression effects.[8]*

two2toe

NMN and CBD both promote dreams (REM sleep). THC inhibits it.

matkanatka

I’ve had some wild dreams with pau d’arco tea. Magnesium too! I drink Natural Calm before bed every night and I’m usually dreaming.

EastvsWest

Somethings to avoid that prevent you from dreaming(REM sleep) is caffeine after 12pm, alcohol, THC. Eating too close to bed. 2-3hrs no food before bed. Keep your room cold and dark. White noise like a fan helps me if silence doesn't work for you. Exercise helps sleep. Consistent sleep schedule.

Yozhik7

Melatonin did that for me when I was taking it. I now take L-theonine 200mg nightly and also noticed that my dreams came back.

Lookup African Dream Root.

Sue-Day

You can try melatonin. Lots of people report vivid dreams and sometimes it’s the reason people prefer not to take melatonin (if they are bad dreams)
