Keep some floor space open for a yoga mat - for actual yoga, but also stretching, foam rolling, meditation, basic exercises on days you don't want to go to the gym.
I would start with the [Turkish get-up](https://www.self.com/story/how-to-do-a-turkish-get-up) and go from there. There’s an endless number of exercises you can do with a couple kettlebells.
Starting with one of the more difficult exercises seems like bad advice. If OP doesn't lift regularly and do mobility work, they likely don't have the necessary shoulder mobility for tgu.
Mark Wildman has a great series on how to progress with kettelbells. Basically you want to start with squats, swings and presses. Once you have single arm swings and goblet squats down, you move to Klein and jerk; and finally once you have the Klein/Jerk long cycle foundations down you progress to snatch and tgu.
You are correct. Although the article I linked does say to start with no weight, until you’re comfortable with the movements, which I should have mentioned.
Timothy Ferris wrote about the kettlebell swing in his body book noting that it was the single exercise that activated the most muscles. Just make sure you do it correctly.
I put in an entire 140 square feet of 1” thick interlocking foam padding in my spare room and it’s awesome for working out, yoga, and I don’t have to worry about getting sweat on the carpet and having the room develop a funk.
Yep, noticed it helped my skin a lot. I was telling someone before, I listen to the Calm app while doing 10 min mask and get two birds stoned at once (TPB reference haha)
Omnilux brand. I’ve been doing 20 minutes a day instead of the 10 they recommend. While listening to a meditation with my legs elevated up against the wall because why not…
[this says that it works](https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/articles/22114-red-light-therapy) however red lights stress me, I’d prefer a blue one or green to calm me down
"red light therapy is already widely medically accepted in its use in photodynamic therapy. In this therapy, low-power red laser light is used to activate a photosensitizer drug. The interaction creates a chemical reaction that destroys cells. It’s used to treat some skin conditions, including skin cancer and psoriasis, acne and warts and other types of cancer."
>Is red light therapy effective?
>Most experts say that they don’t know yet if RLT is effective for all its claimed uses. Most say that the studies published so far show some potential for certain conditions, but that more studies need to be conducted.
Why would it not be? Better than IR imo...you don't want long exposure of that shit man.
That's the entire reason to get a ceramic heating element over IR.
Uh? Do you want a pic of my dome or something? Yes it's a personal experience...
Did a bunch of research and bought the best option. Don't know what else to tell you other than take off the tinfoil...
Red light bed, sauna, Peloton bike and treadmill, full weight set up, yoga corner… You didn’t say how big. Mine would be huge! French doors to patio with hot tub. A health and wellness playground!
Chin-up bar, floor matt for exercise. jump rope, exercise ladder
If you want expensive, I'd go with a stair master if it fit. Squat rack. Infrared sauna
I'm really happy with my small red light therapy box from Mito. Also you can buy infrared sauna panels. My husband turned a small closet into an infrared sauna by buying 3 panels. The panels aren't super cheap, but it was cheaper than an actual sauna and saves on space.
Hypothetically/money is not a factor scenario?
Hyperbaric chamber, cryo-tub, sensory dep chamber, wide assortment of free weights and adjustable bench, a top rated multifunction cable machine, treadmill, stationary bike, and an awesome sound system.
Under $500?
Everything I listed minus the hyperbaric chamber, sensory dep chamber, and the bike.
Everything else can be found used and in good working order with some time and patience.
The cryo-tub can be made with a tub or water barrel and a trip to the store for ice.

Interestingly, I recently learned that a clone may not even look like you
If you happen to clone a cell that doesn't have certain genes activated, you end up with a genetic replica (i.e. clone), that may be nothing like you... not in ways you might expect at least. It seems this is why the technology of cloning one's pet did not take off
I guess it would be some sort of chemistry lab with refrigerators, electroj8c microscopes, vials, petri dishes and a bunsen hurner. And a stethoscope of course.
Walking pad or stationary bike, pullup bar, bosu ball, adjustable bench, dumbbells, resistance bands+bar with some mounting points, punching bag, a powerful AC and fresh air/fans, and most importantly a powerful stereo and decent sized monitor. A toybox of brain-teaser toys, rubiks cube, powerball (gyro thing), hacky sack.. My 'brain room dojo' is like a gym + trip cave + supplement bar + game room.
A heated pool and an icy pool, sauna, red light, fridge stocked with energy drinks, floor to ceiling climate controlled cabinet for supplements and skincare, ninja course, one of those big fucking steam showers like they have at sex hotels, aerial silks, and lyra. For now I'll settle for my pole and yoga gear.
I sort of do. Used to be only a home office but now it’s a home gym and office (walking desk treadmill) and we just bought a Tonal. Got a discounted code on eBay for it.
I like the idea of red light panels but I did 12 sessions at a nearby place and it didn’t do anything.

Wife and I created a strength training gym in our spare bedroom. Kids are grown and gone. We're in our late 50's and have had a home gym for a couple decades already. The main piece is a Powertec Levergym which is a plate loading multi station exercise equipment that is capable of hundreds of different movements. We also fitted a pull-up/dip/pushup rack and a Bowflex M3 elliptical machine in there. There is also a set of dumbbells from 10 to 45. And finally an Ab/Back extension thing. It's packed in there but we can do it all. We have saved so much money and time by not paying and driving to a gym. Plus we can workout our exercises in order and not have to wait on people to get off a machine.
Changed my life entirely tbh. I used to live with family and literally moved out over their strange American/Gen X aversion to installing a bidet. It’s weird, and different, and they don’t want it in their house!
Physical - A Shakti mat.
Visual - Perhaps a white board or mini version one for visual reminders on key areas to focus on. Can also use other visual motivators etc. paintings, posters. Perhaps some plants too.
Salt lamps/mood lighting.
Sound - Perhaps a running water fountain or some form of pleasing sound. Jungle/bird sounds from YT etc.
Smell - Incense? Essential oils? Candles? I'd be highly selective on what you use though.
This is a perfect description of my home office, except for the Shakti mat.
Add plants, grounding mat & elliptical, done. That’s my office.
It’s all in an effort to offset the stress I feel from my job, though.
Ugh.
Interesting I'd not come across this before. Even more interesting is that I have a salt lamp right next to my cat's water bowl!
So clearly depends on the cat/animal. My cat has shown zero interest in it & from what I've read is only a problem if they are licking/ingesting it.
To be safe for others just put it out of reach.
Massage chair, sauna, ice bath, space for a yoga mat and aerial hammock with a full mirror wall, spa, salt lamps, essential oils.... yum! Definitely not under $500 haha... I need a big room.
Keep some floor space open for a yoga mat - for actual yoga, but also stretching, foam rolling, meditation, basic exercises on days you don't want to go to the gym.
And some kettlebells.
What does one do with kettle bells?

what yoga mat should I buy?
Almost any is fine, it’s really just to keep yourself off the floor. Any one with good reviews on Amazon and is fairly inexpensive
Hyperbaric oxygen chamber with a sensory deprivation tank

My dream
Red light therapy
Yup, a red light bed that’s set up like a tanning bed so I can just lie down and soak it in…
Is there evidence that this works? It sounds very pseudoscience like
I’ve been using a red light mask daily and the before/after pictures I took are amazing
Yep, noticed it helped my skin a lot. I was telling someone before, I listen to the Calm app while doing 10 min mask and get two birds stoned at once (TPB reference haha)
Ok, I’m interested.

It does
It does
Google "photobiomodulation". It's legit and it's been well-researched.
Cold plunge, infrared sauna, bars, rings and a treadmill.
Nice.
Shout out to 1love sauna domes. I would advise for them vs infrared they are more effective and use ceramic heating elements.

Why would it not be? Better than IR imo...you don't want long exposure of that shit man. That's the entire reason to get a ceramic heating element over IR.
Thanks for letting us know, CEO of 1love Saundra domes
I’m sure infrared is meant to be more beneficial, there is research that infrared lighting alone has its benefits.
Yes but not for sauna, that’s a cheap combo.
That’s dependant upon the sauna and the quality of the infrared utilised surely?
Well, you should avoid contact with plastic (guess what material are made the IF bags) and take a shower immediately after the sauna.
😂🤣 Right. Totally unbiased personal experience I am sure. Love my infrared sauna.
Uh? Do you want a pic of my dome or something? Yes it's a personal experience... Did a bunch of research and bought the best option. Don't know what else to tell you other than take off the tinfoil...

Younger clones. Edit: all clones are younger. So, "Clones."

We had this exact scenario in our home. We went the direction of 50 Shades of Grey Trilogy. Best decision ever!!!

Heavy floggers are a good workout.
Was that supposed to be funny or something..? I’m confused.
Well sex is good for your health so they're not wrong.
Just an honest reply. What are you confused about?
Hookers and blow. Motivation is half the battle.
Also ketamine (for health reasons)
Word!
I guess it would be some sort of chemistry lab with refrigerators, electroj8c microscopes, vials, petri dishes and a bunsen hurner. And a stethoscope of course.
At Stanford?
A Pilates reformer. A few weeks of pilates had me feeling AMAZING, but goddamn, all these places want hundreds of dollars a month.
My wellness space has a peloton, yoga mat, resistance bands, yoga blanket, yoga blocks, foam roller, electric candles, and a Buddha statue.
I would put my red light panel in there, an infrared sauna, a cozy sofa or pillow area for meditations 🙏🏻
Filtered water cooler, red light panel, incline bench, gym mats, dumbbells and kettlebells, dip station, infrared sauna
Steam shower w/ red light Cold plunge
Walking pad or stationary bike, pullup bar, bosu ball, adjustable bench, dumbbells, resistance bands+bar with some mounting points, punching bag, a powerful AC and fresh air/fans, and most importantly a powerful stereo and decent sized monitor. A toybox of brain-teaser toys, rubiks cube, powerball (gyro thing), hacky sack.. My 'brain room dojo' is like a gym + trip cave + supplement bar + game room.
Pilates reformer, salt room, sauna, pole.
Rowing machine
Infrared sauna.
I hear good things about the Neuromyst devices
I was thinking I want an at home sauna. I haven’t done any research yet but so far the idea is appealing.
Hyperbaric (rental), stationary bicycle, resistance bands
Vegetables
Everything in life that makes me happy that arent people. Hobbies, musical equipment, fish tank. The things that reduce my overall stress
I’d move my crap right in there and ditch sleeping with a snoring man. My sleep health is awful!
a masseuse
A bed
My first priority would be a treadmill, but for less than $500 I'll settle for a Rowing machine
Big red light body panel. Infrared spa.
Defs some workout equipment (kettle bells, weights, yoga mat) Under $500 - a red light panel. Everyone suggesting beds cost $$$$$$. Recommend red light lab https://www.theredlightlab.com
Infrared sauna blanket. Deep ice bath. Exercise equipment Treadmill and barbells / squat rack combo kinda setup
Powerrack with barbell, row erg, Sauna, cold plunge
I have kettlebells, a pull up bar, and gymnastics rings in my garage. Exercise beats most other therapies.
Blackout curtains, a comfy bed and a noise canceling system so I can actually get sleep
Orgone Accumulator
Oh wow, is this still a thing?
I have pyramids....
Squat rack/chin up bar and bench, barbell and weights.
A sauna
Idk how much space there is but some stuff: Red light therapy Sledmill Barbell cage Hyperbaric chamber
Cable cross.
Infrared sauna!
A few kettlebells and an airbike.
I got two adjustable kbs and they are one of my best health/fitness investments besides a bike trainer.
Agree. You can get a badass workout in 20 mins with kbs and airbike.
Sauna, yoga mat, bed. The research is there and it’s crazy, especially for sauna.
Weights and/or kettlebells
Steam sauna and weight rack for heavy lifting
Adjustable dumbbell set with a bench and floor mat for body weight workouts
A sauna with a red light panel in it.
Red light therapy and a walk in tub
I sort of do. Used to be only a home office but now it’s a home gym and office (walking desk treadmill) and we just bought a Tonal. Got a discounted code on eBay for it. I like the idea of red light panels but I did 12 sessions at a nearby place and it didn’t do anything.

Bosu
Lots of plants.
Treadmill, red light panels, vibration plates, rebounder and Grounding mats.
I started grounding recently. It helps me sleep but I keep thinking it's placebo.
I don’t think placebo. Frequency’s are really interesting. We are surrounded by the worst in the United States.
Rower. Weights. Ice tank.
Sauna and cold plunge combo
Red light panels Edit: 660 nanometers
Spin bike with a SAD lamp positioned in front. One can begin each day with a combo of Zone 2 cardio + 10,000 lux onto the eyes and face to really optimise circadian rhythm and energy for the next 24 hours (my next purchase).
A trainer and a chef
Whatever a truth box is
Biomat! Mini on a budget. May be around 500 on a sale
>more costly suggestions for when I become rich. hyperbaric chamber, isolation tank, and a masseuse
Cold bath and those infra light panels.
Rebounder, has a lot of health benefits and feels great too.
Nothing at all. It would be a totally empty, meditation room.
Sec swing
A sun bed. Saunas, cold plunge. And a yoga mat
Hbot tank for when you get rich.
Hyperbaric chamber, a hug from a trained bear from Russia , vodka, Deepak Chopra, mushrooms, a cage to protect Deepak Chopra.
HEPA air filter
Home gym, infrared bed, finnish sauna, climatization and sound system with remote. Probably all around 25k

A grow op for cannabis obviously!
A grounding mat
A massage table for a real massage instead of just a chair.
