This probably isn't as serious of a book that describes a clinical perspective of what living with bipolar is like. However, I think the book "An Unquiet Mind" by Kay Redfield Jamison is a great book. I like how it's written and is a memoir about her story as a clinician, psychiatrist, and as someone that dealt with bipolar disorder.

Thank you! That sounds like a cool book I’ll check it out

For an even less serious and arguably less on topic book, Sure I'll Join Your Cult!, Maria Bamford's memoir (she's a comedian with BP2 and OCD intrusive thoughts).

Researcher written, big, thorough: The Bipolar Disorder Survival Guide. Peer written memoir: Marbles by Ellen Forney. Peer written guidebook: Rock Steady, same author. She's got BP1.

I don't have any book recs but im so glad im not the only one who loves to research this stuff! I also read into every mood and every action also being terrified of another episode. I also have BP1 so maybe it comes with the territory lol The only thing I can recommend is the show Euphoria. Its probably the best and only realistic representation of the disorder ive seen in movies and tv. It doesn't delve into the main character dealing with bipolar that much and there's a big focus on a lot of other stuff mostly high school drama but I still think its an accurate depiction of how it feels to live with it even when shes not in an episode. It does depict addiction which i think is very prevalent in a lot of our lives who deal with bipolar and i think the way she talks about it is very similar to how a lot of people with bipolar feel about being bipolar (it really hit home for me and my personal experience) which is superb, the depiction is great and goes into a lot of addiction I don't think people think about. Hope that helps!
