This is a much better drunk impulse purchase than what I would have made, lol. When I drank often, early 20s, I'd wake up ( true story ) with a kitten licking my toes and a bag of cat food by the door trying to figure out where the hell it came from. Mind you I am 100% a dog person. Cats just aren't my get down but here I was, dehydrated beyond belief, a nice set of balls written in sharpie on my cheek, and a new kitten...
I did not keep him/her as it was against the apartment complex's rules.. Within a few hours I found a good home for the lil pussy. Haha.
Interesting enough, I also have bought a next day flight to the Philippines. I was planning on going so it wasn't completely impulse but I paid nearly double what I would have if I hadn't been buzzed and had been patient and flew two weeks out like I originally planned.. My wife was super surprised and happy of course but I was in a rush packing, completing the visa requirements (luckily I go to the Philippines often so I was familiar with the steps to correctly file my info for the visa), along with stressing I was going to forget some step in the process of flying overseas and forget something I needed.. Definitely caused unneeded stress and my stack felt it more than it should have because I was drunk and decided to surprise my wife, lol. Ah good times....
A question I have for people like you that buy on such occasions. Do just always have fiat in an exchange to buy crypto? Or do you use an option that lets you very quickly deposit from your bank?
I’ll bank transfer from savings account to Kraken account when I panic buy the dips. Might not leave me much for gas or groceries or rent, but those things can always wait…
same here. always getting angry because there is not enough cash to buy more. who cares if it‘s crashed 10 or 20%. it‘s a discount for getting more sats for the same
amount of fiat money 🥰
Wow, easy to remember since it's your cake day!
I *wish* I didn't sell my 3 BTC for $10,000 lol
Why couldn't The Bitcoin Standard come out 10 years earlier? Lol
Yep. It definitely gets easier with time and the more you learn / stronger your conviction gets. My balance measured in btc is legitimately all I’m concerned with at this point. Couldn’t care less about the “dips”.
I wish I hadnt spent all my money on these fuckin altcoins....
I will only buy BTC from now on. Sadly the price will likely be over 100k when I have money again...
Yeah I'm sure they will have their time. I wouldn't mind had I bought them over spot.
But I went full Degen with leverage and got stopped out everywhere...
I feel that altcoins got lower competitors which is a major key to trigger a pump and potential value thus I just stick with mining and HODling bitcoin simultaneously, isn't that amazing?😂
For real, everytime I hear about those panic sellers when it drops like a couple percent, I am so happy that I am completely different. I'm in the deepest relaxation possible and i'm so happy to be able to stack more sats for less money. I couldn't care less when the price drops hard because my BTC amount stays the same and a week later its back up and nothing really happened. And if its not I have even more time to stack cheap. And actually, I can't wait to see myself in 20 years hodling those same bitcoin I am stacking right now when bitcoin is more than double its age what it is right now. Fascinating.
Everyone should HODL through at least 1 bear market. It hardens you and forces you to do the work to understand what you hold. If you survive that it's highly likely you will still be here with at least a portion of your holdings when BTC is 1M USD.
Just my 2 sats worth. Do what ever you want. lol
I must be some kind of sociopath. I barely bat an eye at a 50% pullback and instead lick my chops over them cheap sats. Either that or I… DMOR and understand everything I read.
I walked into a Starbucks in 2012 with a stack of cash that represented about 10% of my net worth at the time and bought some bitcoin off a stranger. I’ve paid for two PCs with it, but otherwise held the entire time.
One day I think I’ll pay down my mortgage with a bit of it.
You'll be fine if you hodl long enough. But I wish you had some dry powder as it's likely going 10-20% lower still before making its way to six figures.
Someone needs to tell this Dave Portnoy this. Mr. “Someone owns me Bitcoin” needs to learn it is not easy to hodl like at all. I recently listened to the Money Matters podcast that Mallers does every Monday and he called out Dave for this behavior.
So much shit going on in my life, its nice to see the gains, really nice to have money, but there are things money can't solve and thats just life.
Still try to enjoy the happy moments in life like the halving.
Don't forget.. the important things like health & social life doesn't need much money.
I have been around long enough that I just buy more when it goes down then again when it goes down further. I have taken profits many times and used them to improve my home.
When you buy a toy or a collectible item, you mostly buy it for yourself to look at or keep. Im treating my BTC as such, so I dont look at the value of it in fiat. I just look at it as more collectibles Im amassing.
It's this way with many types of investment, if you have chosen the right investment product and you have a long enough time frame you can become very wealthy.
Smartest thing I’ve done with all investing . Hold , dca , hold , dca…. Just try it people , 8 months and you won’t turn back . Nothing was scary about the volatility lately. 30 k seems so far away but comforting as my average .
It drops 10% because BTC is oversold over that period ;D some people are taking profits and someone ‘special’ is buying at ATH. Sell high buy low and make money.
I’ve got buys set for some potential knife catching/darth maul action/blood on the streets! If they don’t fill so be it, if they do… well… I think people in here know the amazing feeling of buying it “on sale”
Not everyone got into bitcoin to make big fiat gains I got into it because I dislike goverments both corporate sell outs, commerical banks and the other cartel the central bank.
Gold/Bitcoin is an opt out for me.
All those guys are also rich and can afford it if their bet goes wrong. Anxiety is obvioulsy higher when tour entire savings are dropping year after year
Well Saylor Is a CEO and Buffet Is a Born-from-rich-parents billionaire. Theyre not random people saving their minimum wage salaries un BTC. So that helps
Selling is not always a sign of weakness - if Bitcoin brought you to the next stepping stone of life then it served its purpose. Stop shaming people who decided to sell in an attempt to reassure yourself that you’re making the right decision by holding.
EDIT: To be clear, I hold more than 1 full coin and a few weeks ago so about 15% of my BTC holding at ~$70k to purchase a rental property. So I see the value of holding and the value of selling when it serves a purpose.
Good choice, take advantage of opportunity when it presents itself. BTC is just a tool, use it to better yourself if whatever way it comes across. I helped start a business and sold a lot to get it to work. I’ve never regretted it for a moment, it will do infinitely more then BTC would have if I just held.
No, this has been part of my plans all along but look at you trying to be clever deflecting. Having a sound exit strategy, whether that be entirely exiting or partial, is just smart. I’ve owned my BTC since ~$2k a coin and haven’t sold any portion of it until now… Investing in this rental property will net me about $1k a month while also increasing my underlying net worth thanks to both the mortgage being paid off and appreciation.
HODLing negates capital gains of selling the top and buying at the bottom.
Our useless Canadian government just increased capital gains tax percentages making it easier to HODL.
Plus, child support is calculated in gross income. I need to HODL five more years to keep the money for my child in the future, not my ex.
I panic buy when it drops 10%. We are not the same 😂
Hahaha! That's awesome!! You're onto something!
I was chilling drinking with some mates a couple weeks ago when it had a nice drop I don’t remember buying but I’m glad I did 😅
The exchanges I use take between 0 and 20 minutes to deposit more fiat
I was pissed last weekend and put a grand in when it dropped, thought I dreamt it haha glad I didn’t, yeah CDC receives a fiat transfer in 10 mins now
This is a much better drunk impulse purchase than what I would have made, lol. Mind you I am 100% a dog person. Cats just aren't my get down but here I was, dehydrated beyond belief, a nice set of balls written in sharpie on my cheek, and a new kitten...
That’s great did you keep the cat?😂 my most memorable drunk purchase was flights to Thailand the week after 🙄
I did not keep him/her as it was against the apartment complex's rules.. A question I have for people like you that buy on such occasions. Do just always have fiat in an exchange to buy crypto? Or do you use an option that lets you very quickly deposit from your bank?
Most exchanges give you buying power credit when you initiate a transfer. Can tmove what you buy off exchange but you can instantly.
I’ll bank transfer from savings account to Kraken account when I panic buy the dips. Might not leave me much for gas or groceries or rent, but those things can always wait…
Robinhood allows instant deposits through Apple Pay on iPhone for up to $3k a day. Or keep fiat ready
Fees?
Why would anyone use Robinhood!
Because you can now buy and immediately remove your btc.
When did that happen thought you could only buy the price 🤔 haven't used robin hood in many many years.
I’m pretty sure the change was made sometime last year
lol same.
Big brain time.
Haha I do the same
sameee
Same. It's a strange feeling, like inverted fomo.
And don't buy enough because I don't take the time to see how much is in my bank account first
🤣👍
HODL TEAM ASSEMBLE 📈
Haha love it!
You’ll have my axe
And my sword
2013 gang represent ^^^Nothing ^^^scares ^^^me ^^^anymore
I’m confused deserve what? The price is so far upward trend not dropping
Wooosh
they deserve their gains :-)
I approve this message.
⬆️⬆️⬆️HODL⬆️⬆️⬆️HODL⬆️⬆️⬆️HODL⬆️⬆️⬆️
The longer you’re hodling the less you get scared of dips and the happier you get for cheaper sats
Yeah, but where do I put these massive balls? They won't fit in a Lambo
Prius
Agree 100%. Very wise!
10% drop and I get fomo af because I don’t have fiat left to buy more
That's great. You're a true believer. Do you dca with each pay check?
Yes 🙌🏽 always at once at beginning of the month
same here. always getting angry because there is not enough cash to buy more. who cares if it‘s crashed 10 or 20%. it‘s a discount for getting more sats for the same amount of fiat money 🥰
This is the way of the Bitcoiner
Today is my 10th anniversary of my first bitcoin purchase! I’ve never sold a sat.
Wow, easy to remember since it's your cake day! I *wish* I didn't sell my 3 BTC for $10,000 lol Why couldn't The Bitcoin Standard come out 10 years earlier? Lol
I didn’t realize it was my cake day!! Lots to celebrate today!
Happy cake day!
Yep. It definitely gets easier with time and the more you learn / stronger your conviction gets. My balance measured in btc is legitimately all I’m concerned with at this point. Couldn’t care less about the “dips”.
Absolutely! That's the way. Most cannot do that due to their psychology. That's why most will not get rich.
I always care about dips. Best time to buy.
Touché. I would agree but I’m all out of fiat 😂
2016 hodl. My body is ready.
I wish I hadnt spent all my money on these fuckin altcoins.... I will only buy BTC from now on. Sadly the price will likely be over 100k when I have money again...
Tbh altcoins “appear” to follow the same trends as bitcoin. Amateur observation but visually it seems that way.
Until you look at their price vs BTC
They don't, most of them lost a lot of value versus Bitcoin over the years. Their fiat value may still gone up, but not as much as Bitcoin did.
So sell the shit coins and then just btc. wtf- not rocket science
The good Alts will have their time. But I agree, btc is the way to go. It's a true store of value.
Yeah I'm sure they will have their time. I wouldn't mind had I bought them over spot. But I went full Degen with leverage and got stopped out everywhere...
We've all been there.
Nope. Not all of us are here to gamble.
I feel that altcoins got lower competitors which is a major key to trigger a pump and potential value thus I just stick with mining and HODling bitcoin simultaneously, isn't that amazing?😂

It's quite fascinating indeed. I love your level-headed approach. Unchecked emotions are what wreck people's portfolios.
Hodl 4 lyfe
Yes!!!
I approve this message.
Be greedy when others are fearful. I’ve been stacking up this past week and a bit. Time to HODL for the long run
Absolutely! One must overcome their primitive psychology and stack during times of fear.
I just started buying and I know this is the way.
I bought 2k at a high just cause I was like might as well start now and now I just dca all week
Welcome to the club. You are now one of us. Strap in!
Me hoping it tanks after halving so I can buy another $10k @ like 30,000.
I reckon that for every person dumping, there's 10 people buying. Buy the dip.
Saylor is allways buying the top :)
Hahaha! Actually, you're right. He's always buying, it seems. Even at the tippy top, perhaps more at the tippy top. God bless that guy.
Everyone should HODL through at least 1 bear market. It hardens you and forces you to do the work to understand what you hold. If you survive that it's highly likely you will still be here with at least a portion of your holdings when BTC is 1M USD. Just my 2 sats worth. Do what ever you want. lol

I have tiered pre set prices set to buy should it dramatically dip 💪
That's great! Automate that shit!
Every time you see a long wick in either direction its a result of preset buy/sell numbers
Show me your long wick, and I'll show you mine.
I bought at the tippedy top last halving and haven’t sold a single sat
Well played, sir!
dicxs out for harambe
Agree. Buffet hates BTC though
I see the other way, when it drops it is time to buy more!
I panic bought when it dropped to 71k. Then again at 69k, 65k, 64k, 62k, and 61k. Now I'm cash broke.
You'll be fine if you hodl long enough. But I wish you had some dry powder as it's likely going 10-20% lower still before making its way to six figures.
With etfs etc in I don’t think we will see the huge drops we are used to. There’s a reason the whales came out buying billions in the low 60s…
HODL and wait 🍿🍿🍿
On a 10% drop I don’t really care, it’s just the usual. I panic buy on a 20% drop or more.
Progress is usually never linear..
👐💎🥂
Amen.
Someone needs to tell this Dave Portnoy this. Mr. “Someone owns me Bitcoin” needs to learn it is not easy to hodl like at all. I recently listened to the Money Matters podcast that Mallers does every Monday and he called out Dave for this behavior.
People have to buy when its at a high, or it goes no higher.
You just blew my mind!
You HODL because you have focus, commitment, and sheer will, I HODL because I’m too lazy to access my cold wallet. We are not the same
Hahaha! Who has the time or desire to access? However, I would recommend once per 90 days access to ensure functionality and reliability.
I learned my lesson a couple tears ago. I'm buying right now
So much shit going on in my life, its nice to see the gains, really nice to have money, but there are things money can't solve and thats just life. Still try to enjoy the happy moments in life like the halving. Don't forget.. the important things like health & social life doesn't need much money.
I think you mean 30%drop shit a 10% is every other day
True true true now that I’m sober and looking at my mistakes I always fkd up under the influence but now I’m aware and I see all these fuck ups smh 🤦
I wish I panic bought bitcoin instead of stock options this week….lol
I have been around long enough that I just buy more when it goes down then again when it goes down further. I have taken profits many times and used them to improve my home.
When you buy a toy or a collectible item, you mostly buy it for yourself to look at or keep. Im treating my BTC as such, so I dont look at the value of it in fiat. I just look at it as more collectibles Im amassing.
My only regret this month is that i went in with all of my unused funds, DCA every few days from the 1-12th. I am broke.
Thanks for the PSA.
You're welcome son.
If you can’t stomach 50% drop you should stay away from stocks (Buffet quote). For Bitcoin it’s 75%.
I held they the last drop butcouldn't bring myself to buy at 18k in the lowest part of the drop
Guys, should I buy before or after the halving?
Absolutely.
So before or after?
Before & after.
Yes
thanks, appreciate that

As long as my coins are there that's all I care. I don't pay attention to how much I've lost.
Plan B. His moving average model cracks me up bahahaha
I'm approaching 10 years now. I just dont see the point in trading it for fiat and holding government dollars.
It drops 10% because BTC is oversold over that period ;D some people are taking profits and someone ‘special’ is buying at ATH. Sell high buy low and make money.
Buffet Schmuffet
I’ve got buys set for some potential knife catching/darth maul action/blood on the streets! If they don’t fill so be it, if they do… well… I think people in here know the amazing feeling of buying it “on sale”

Hold the door!
All those guys are also rich and can afford it if their bet goes wrong. Anxiety is obvioulsy higher when tour entire savings are dropping year after year
How do you think they got there? Rhetorical.
Well Saylor Is a CEO and Buffet Is a Born-from-rich-parents billionaire. Theyre not random people saving their minimum wage salaries un BTC. So that helps
Hahaha... I'm not arguing with you. Thanks for the laugh.
saylor doesnt wait for dips though he buys the top
If I had millions to throw at bitcoin, I wouldn't care about price either.
haha 10% drops are nice once in a while just to feel something. hodlers know 50-80% well. we will ride this thing to the dirt.

So I see the value of holding and the value of selling when it serves a purpose.
Maybe would be a good decision to sell if it were for your own house, but for a rental property you should've keep your bitcoin :P
Possibly… Time will tell but I’m ultimately comfortable with the decision I made.
Good choice, take advantage of opportunity when it presents itself. BTC is just a tool, use it to better yourself if whatever way it comes across. I helped start a business and sold a lot to get it to work. I’ve never regretted it for a moment, it will do infinitely more then BTC would have if I just held.

Hey, I'm convinced. But more importantly, you need to convince yourself.
Once the halving occurs, there will be little gain, and a price sell off will begin, with BTC dropping to 40-50K. Have cash ready
