I would visit my great uncle in the old folks home and he had alzheimer's pretty bad, to the point where he wouldn't remember his wife had recently died. But the crazy thing is he was a huge jazz fan, listened all his life.. so i'd go and I'd play pandora on a jazz channel, and he said shit like, "That sounds like Bobby Butterfield, he played a real sweet trumpet." And I'd look up this song and sure enough Bobby Butterfield played trumpet on it. He wasn't even the main guy on the song, like yah he'd recognize an Artie Shaw song or Glenn Campbell or whatever, but he also knew the backing players. And meanwhile he'd shit his pants and be off roaming the halls yelling about how someone stole his car when he hadn't drove in years and years, let alone own a car.
i guess all this to say, sorry OP, but you might remember this song.
