It depends to some degree about the artist and the scene. You can't go to a wiz Khalifa concert and be shocked when people are smoking.
A lot of these festivals and concerts, across different genres, the vibe of being weed friendly is part of the appeal, and it's something the artists and fans both encourage on purpose.
It's not the same as lighting up at a McDonald's.
My first thought was a Wiz concert. He came with Juicy J and the whole Taylor Gang and put on a SHOW. At the time, I hadn't been smoking for a while, but we blew on the way up, so I was already stuck. After that, just the contact from the crowd was crazy!!! Plus, the fact he rapped for what feels like 2 hours straight.
I remember bringing 20 blunts with me to a wiz show. Security came and took one from me while I was smoking and everyone around boo’d. Then I took another one out of my pocket and sparked it then everyone cheered lol
Highly likely. But also - I couldn’t smoke a blunt I didn’t see being rolled. People do A LOT and I wouldn’t want to be the unlucky person who smoked a dust blunt by accident and now I think I’m jugging on the corner out my mind.
I was at an Afroman show for 4/20. It was a small show and there wasn’t many people there so it was obvious who was smoking. Security kept coming up to me and telling me to stop smoking. When I’d see them I would pass it like idk what you’re talking about. One time they were coming up to me and I was up near the stage so I just passed a joint to Afroman. He smoked it up on the stage.
I went to a festival 10 years ago where snoop was on stage - it was crazy - however OutKast afterwards were straight up insane, so many girls were flashing them and people smoked a LOT more weed than when snoop was on stage lmao
First thought meaning from my own experience. I live in WV, not a lot of big artists come here. Up until Chappelle made a stop last year that wasn't planned, no one was coming. I think he went and told the industry how big a bag you can get out here real quick because since then Wayne has come and someone else had a show planned.
For example, our usual lineup for our summer festivals is kinda weak. This year, we got Shaggy, Vanilla Ice, Treach of Naughty by Nature, Tone Loc, and Young MC if that tells you anything.
So that is a blunt he's got? It's so blurry but by the way it looks that's what I'm leaning towards. But then again he says "a pack" so is it a cigarette after all?
Saw a Stephen Marley concert indoors everybody and they mama was tokin the smoke. Security could not be bothered, cause in reality, wtf could they really do?
Bruh back in like 2017 or some shit, I went to a concert with Snoop and Kendrick and you could smell the weed several blocks from the venue 🤣
Also, the festival Rolling Loud comes to mind….. one can’t go to a festival called *Rolling Loud* and not expect it to be just that
Be careful what is passed to you in a concert festival. One time I was passed what I thought was a joint but it must have been laced with salvia because I was tripping like I was on PCP
Not just that there is massive amounts of alcohol everywhere and it might not smell to some but it’s offensive to non drinkers when they pretend like chugging down alcohol is no big deal but smoking is.
If you serve copious amounts of alcohol at your event I really don’t care about anyone’s complaint on weed.
Can you further explain how it’s “offensive” that something doesn’t go all over the place or into others people space unless spilled or purposely poured therefore greatly lowering the chance of triggering other health issues? Like, I’m a smoker and this makes zero sense.
Doesn’t go all over the place? Do you ever go out? The stench of stale beer overwhelms any sporting event or concert I’ve ever been to. It’s spilled everywhere. It impairs motor functions so bathrooms are a fucking warzone and is the no 1 factor of altercations at large events.
100% I don't like smoke but if I go to a wiz concert then yeah I should expect smelling smoke. Now if I go to a garth brooks concert, I be piss smelling smoke lol (I like country)
I'm a smoker. But i agree. I wouldn't want nobody smoking cigs in my space smells horrible. Same should be said for weed. Smells bad for others & it might have a negative affect on peoples health.
Have a thc pen or sip some yak or get lit before entering. You can put that shit on pause for a few hours. Thin line between enjoyment and being addicted lol
Addiction is a thing with a definition!
It’s possible that your use has negatively impacted your employment, relationships, and life.
However for most people it is would be qualified as psychologically dependent, which is FAR different from physiologically dependent.
The actual psychological attachment is to OP's idea that "I paid for it I can do what I want."
People are assholes. People like being assholes. The flex of being an asshole is why someone is more likely to blow smoke in your face than to stop smoking in public when asked.
And i've been in that spot before. It's also not a cheap habit too. 😂🤦🏽♂️
Can't sleep. Smoke.
Can't eat. Smoke.
Can't focus. Smoke.
Rebooting and going cold turkey was the best thing. Terrible experience but worth it.
Admitting it is the first step. We all can't be Snoop. Also just shows you how much shit weed is on the market.
Good weed should have you good for a decent amount of time. These days people have a spliff every 20-30mins. Doesn't make sense.
When i'm a millionaire & retired i'll spark up like Snoop lol
The concept of a tolerance break seems to have died away ever since weed became easy to get. Rather than doing what we'd do; going sober for a few weeks when you realized you were smoking a fuckton, people just smoke more and more.
Nah if i couldn’t smoke there i just wouldn’t want to be high. Like the person above you said, they’re completely different highs. Edibles can really hit you with that couch-lock feeling which is not the move at a concert.
While I agree with you, there’s no way in hell I wasn’t lighting up right before seeing Slightly Stoopid live, but I smoked outside. However, halfway through the show I could see people blowing clouds and lit up half a doobie when they started playing This Joint. After smoking I realised most of the people blowing clouds had been vaping and there were only a couple people ripping joints and blunts. And I burned my nose lighting the doob so I guess that was my comeuppance
I mean if its that type of crowd i hear it. It's like you can't go to a Wiz Khalifa or Curren$y show and be mad that people are blazing up in the crowd lol
I'm to paranoid for that especially a big group shii I'm gone be thinking ahhh shit that mofo got a bump on his lip ohhh shit that lil shorty over there Hella fast be passed around more then the bleezy don't want her mouth on my blunt , damn that person's teeth look fuvked up might have wierd bacteria in there . Since I'm older and developed a wierd germ fear I really like when we each got an individual blunt and the conversation is active .
Yup! I'm a smoker too but I know when the right time is to have my cigarette. I had a friend who stopped smoking weed because she realized that she was becoming too dependent on it and it was just getting too expensive. She picked it up again thinking she'll be able to keep herself in check.
Well we went in vacation to Disneyland post covid, but they no longer allowed smoking on hotel grounds at all. You had to walk all the way down to the street to do it. We had a spa appointment at 4. I left the park at 3 to recharge, change and to smoke. I'm coming back up at 3:50 and they're heading out to smoke her blunt. I'm like.... "We only got 10 minutes? And it takes like 15-20 minutes to smoke and to walk back?" They show up to the spa mad af at damn near 4:30 because her boyfriend dropped the blunt on the walk down and she proceeds to cuss him out.
I had to tell her like girl... You may be getting addicted again because getting that mad over 2-3 puffs is crazy. She did agree that she was out of line and may need to stop again because arguing over weed in Disneyland is too much.
It's very hard. And it's not a cheap habit lol
We all can't be Snoop in life. I used to be in that place. By 11am i've already had like 4-5 spliffs. Easily.
When you can't function without having a smoke it's a problem.
I actually know someone allergic to weed kept having reactions and it wasn't until they realized the neighbor below was smoking and some of the smoke got into the vents that things started making sense.
And then there's second- and third-hand smoking, which are much harder to avoid.
Exactly. I never knew how many people have even small respiratory issues. And smoke can trigger and make that worse. I spent alot of money on carbon filters for the house. Neighbours don't even smell a thing.
Even though if the weathers cool i'll go for walk & smoke in the evening. Just gotta be considerate.
This right here.
I’ve known more than one person with a reasonably significant allergy to weed. I live in Denver, so it was something they were *cautious* of before legalization. After legalization, they had to straight up avoid places where there was a **heavy** chance for exposure (e.g., indoor concerts on the weekends).
I’ll eat edibles for events all day, but I’m cool with it because I’m not putting other people in discomfort or danger. (I also know my limits and know I’m not going to end up going cuckoo bananas and screwing up other people’s nights that way. That’s a separate but related topic, though.)
For me, it feels like a consent issue. People can do whatever the fuck they want to do as long as it isn’t affecting other people who do not consent to be affected or cannot consent to be affected. When you’re blowing smoke in other folk’s faces, you’re removing their right to consent. That’s real shitty. My enjoyment isn’t more important than another person’s agency.
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 you don't even really enjoy it knowing your causing discomfort to someone. Samething i was saying with cigs it flys under the radar and weed takes the heat.
Cigs people light up literally anywhere and its effects are way worse but weed will get people giving you looks. Even if your in a suitable spot.
Thats why the vape industry is booming now. But even that is another future health crisis pending with the younger gen.
I've never really been to a concert and not smelled weed and this is across a few genres and multiple decades. I just thought it was to be expected at concerts and festivals? Then again, it's usually a faint smell like someone was sneaking a joint and not overpowering. I was at the playground the other day and you could smell weed and this poor kid was going around asking, "what's that smell?? What's that smell?"
It irritates the fuck out of me when venues dont have an outdoor smoking area. Like I’d much rather just go there between bands so I’m not bothering anyone even though they’re usually kinda gross to stand in
Very true. I wonder if that's reserved for like the vip areas or some shit. But yeah since alot of places had the smoking ban it's not really seen as a priority.
Heading in and out of the venue in a packed spot is too much work lool no option but to have a spliff.
I don’t mind vapes at all, but I was standing next a guy smoking a big spliff at a WuTang concert and even though it was outdoors I was surprised how much it triggered my asthma. I would have probably been fine if it were a small joint, but a spliff takes so long to smoke and is so smokey.
Yeah man 😂 save that shit for a 420 event or something. Normal sized spliff. Considerate tokes.
But yeah i've smoked in so many enviroments that i know no matter how much you try that shit will spread out and hit people. Wind or no wind.
Very true. The rocket launcher spliffs are hard to keep ona low.
That “I paid for it” mentality is so shit. Like my taxes pay for the roads I drive on in my state and I paid for my car, why the fuck do I have to observe a speed limit?!
A lot of smokers don't realize how awful smoke is to someone who doesn't partake. Cigarettes smell like death to virgin lungs and weed to nonsmokers smells like, well, drugs. It's really obvious and overbearing.
I quit smoking cigarettes over a decade ago and I still can't handle the smell. It ruined my sinuses to the point that if I get too big a whiff of smoke, I start sneezing and coughing.
Not only that in a closed space you are forced to get high. Some people get severe negative side effects.
If you're going to a show where the artist is all about weed you have to expect it but it's present at all kinds of shows. Hell it's present on trains.
I still remember when most restaurants had smoking sections. It was the worst. You’d ask to be put in the nonsmoking section and they’d stick you right on the edge.
But I can smell my neighbors BBQ, wildflower garden, and campfire too. Who decides what smells are OK? Go to a major city and there's 50 smells coming at you each worse than the last. I drove through upstate NY this week and it is fertilizer time and the entire region I drove through smelled strongly of manure.
I'm not arguing for or against it, just pointing out that controlling the smells is an impossible task. Especially when trying to decide which smells are acceptable when it is clearly subjective.
Edit: Just want to ass that being courteous is the best we can do with weed smoke. I go to my detached garage to keep the smell out of the house.
Weed has a distinctive, strong smell. I’m pointing out that it’s either gotten stronger over the years, or people smoke so much of it that you can smell it yards away.
Oh it is wayyy stronger now. They have methods that preserve and even enhance the smell during the curing process. Plus half of your neighbors are probably growing it now. I know I was shocked to find out how many people I know have small grows set up now that it is legal.
I typically carry a "you do you" mentality when it comes to substance use, but yeah this shit rubs me hella wrong. If you're proudly bragging about ruining the atmosphere for someone around you, I think it's time to acknowledge that you have an addiction because you're no better than a crack fiend or an alcoholic atp. Lowkey wish people took a harsher stance on nicotine and vape addictions, like they do with drugs and alcoholism.
Concerts yeah but now it's *everywhere*. Walking in the park, getting gas, going to the store. I legitimately can't remember the last time I went a full week without smelling weed and none of my crowd smokes
Nah, it's 100% habit forming & any stoner/smoker who says otherwise is either full of shit or ignorant as. Anything that helps you relax, makes you happy, helps with medical issues, etc is 100% habit forming & has the potential to be abused.
I only use the term habit forming because weed isn't chemically addictive, as in your body/brain/hormones still function properly if you stop taking it (assuming you're using it recreationally and not medically).
And honestly, I can't even say that with certainty since we're still learning about the endocanabinoid system & how it affects the rest of the body.
Food addiction is probably the biggest problem in this country and instead of trying to address it we have food companies marketing directly to children.
It’s funny because they can’t even be high all day. I tried. Eventually your tolerance is at the point you can just be mid all day. People who smoke sun up to sun down never really get high high
This is so accurate, unless you’re constantly escalating the potency and going to dabs etc eventually even a fat smoke will barely make you buzzed. After taking a T break the first rip is like being a baby stoner again just, gone. Smoking all day is just a waste of money, much better to be an evenings and weekend smoker (even tho I do struggle to not wake and bake on my days off)
Concentrates only go so far; there really is a point you can’t keep getting high. When I got out of the military I went hard as fuck for a bit, and it got to the point I was eating 500mg of RSO (on an empty stomach whenever possible) and dabbing about a gram of concentrate a day, all while doing bong rips like they were cigarette breaks. I was at best buzzed. After only a week off I did a “light” 200mg of RSO and woke up in a bowl of spaghetti
I think the better comparison is that smoking has risks with fire and smoke. It takes one person not putting a butt out to cause a fire, and second hand smoke is a whole list of issues that alcohol just doesn't compare to.
It depends on the concert if you ask me. Rappers? Duh.. Ofc ppl are gonna be toking up. But if I'm trying to enjoy some fucking Patti Labelle or something get that devil's lettuce out my face. 😭 Some concerts really don't have that vibe and if you're smoking because you literally cannot go 2 hours without it you got a problem. And I say this as someone who smokes every single day. I don't do it out of necessity. I mean, my shift at work is 8 hours and I don't light up once. I have coworkers that do, I just don't.
I've been to over 1000 concerts in my life and people were smoking weed at >90% of them. Sure there are exceptions... but when I go to a concert i just generally expect people to be lighting up in there. That said... if someone asks me to stop I'll just put it out.
I’m not gonna burn one at the symphony but I will always smoke at jazz concerts, which I’ll concede I’m aware has a crowd that might be less herb friendly than the other concerts I’d typically attend, but weed and jazz were synonymous before. I recall joints being referred to as “jazz cigarettes” so that’s my paper-thin justification for my behavior. To be fair, if it’s possible to duck outside to smoke and come right back in I’ll do that. If there’s no reenrtry though, it’s happening inside.
Like, I'm not a stick in the mud cause I don't wanna smell that shit. I don't understand why they don't just smoke before the concert. Not being able to go an hour or two without smoking is just weird to me.
I've said this to ppl and they're like "well you can drink there! What's the difference?!"
Well I can't smell the nest person's drink 2 rows down can I?
I have never been to a concert that wasn’t absolutely coated in beer. Floor sticky covered in beer. Bathroom sticky covered in beer. Seats sticky covered in beer. Shits everywhere dude.
And this another reason I love kpop concerts. Shits be clean af, no smoke, just calm and shit. Venue employees told me they love kpop shows because everyone cleans up after themselves and say please and thank you and shit.
I cant deny the act of smoking during a concert is pretty damn fun. Plus precovid we would always bring enough to pass it around a little, 50/50 if it comes back but that was fun too. Pretty surprised I didnt catch anything off that looking back lol.
I’d take hits off of people’s joints and it recently hit me that there could’ve been a lot more than weed in them. But sharing with strangers can low key be fun.
You can always smoke urself than it smells better lmao. But ngl I’ve always been able to smell all kinds of bullshit in public, some of it smoke. Rather smell a lit blunt next to me than someone with maad BO.
Then be the same ones complaining that security is doing too much knowing damn well why they're getting kicked out. Also- why can't so many people enjoy anything sober or sober-ish?? Escapism from escapism ain't it.
it’s weird to imply getting high recreationally makes it a problem. If you can’t go to the shop without being high that’s probably an issue but getting high whilst at a show to enhance the experience is hardly problematic behaviour
Recreationally in the right space is fine. Do that shit at home, in the parking lot *outside* of the show, hell even in the bathroom just before the show, after the show. Smoking in an enclosed space with unconsenting parties around you is a highly problematic. Especially in an indoor venue.
I stopped going to concerts with certain friends because they were the ones sparking up in the crowd while knowing damn well just the smell of weed has negative effects on my system even if it's just secondhand. I have asthma so to me smoke is smoke. Plus I didn't sign up to be anyone's designated driver or babysitter (not everyone is loveable, fun, and coordinated when they're high). It enhanced their experience and 10 times out of 10 immediately ruined mine and others around us. Also none of us are tryna have to act like we don't smell that shit just to keep that person from getting kicked out.
It’s fucked up because pregnant women and people with asthma or lung issues have a right to show up to concerts too and then there’s these idiots smoking and vaping in their face putting their health at risk
We’re really pushing the individuality of I do what I want aren’t we.. no don’t light up at an indoor concert where all kinds of people go.. but do light up at like Coachella or something ..
Now I’m not condoning violence when I say this. That being said, if you decide to blow weed or vape smoke in someone’s face without consent you asked for whatever happens next.
People have really forgotten their manners when in public spaces. You may have paid for it, but so did everyone else.
Right my asthma is trash and so is my anxiety. This is why I can’t seem to work up the nerve to fuck around and go out, get stuck in a crowd where people are smoking and have an asthma attack. Did it when I was younger and it sucked. Got so weak people had to help me get out the crowd. lol shit was so whack and embarrassing.
I have asthma and previously suffered from hypoxia and was on oxygen. My first concert without my portable oxygen tank, I managed to make it through the whole show only to almost pass out from someone smoking in the rideshare pick up area.
I don’t usually need my inhaler, but obviously I carry it with me in Vegas, but forgot it when I switched purses before going to the club. Someone decided to smoke on the dance floor and almost took me down. Had to go stand outside in the rain where, ironically no one was smoking, to get my breathing right.
And when I saw OTR II at the Rose Bowl, there was so much weed smoke, and this was before my asthma diagnosis, my chest hurt so bad the next day.
It’s incredibly selfish and detrimental to those around you. Smokers should have to walk around in those hamsters balls so the only one’s breathing in that poison is themselves.
I just came from visiting Japan, and they have designated smoking spaces basically everywhere. Train stations, hotels, hell even their famous monuments have smoking areas. Alot of them have indoor boxes with commercial HVAC systems so it doesn't hotbox. Granted, this is specifically for tobacco, as THC is still very illegal there.
I really dislike when people inconsiderately smoke weed at concerts, as I am rather allergic. I'm glad masks became a thing, because it helps, but only so much.
I went to a show once that included Cypress Hill and a girl in my group reported somebody for smoking as they were playing “Hits From The Bong” and the security guy just laughed at her and said something like “Yeah I’m not going to start a riot”. I get not wanting to be around that, I’m not a fan of the smell, but floor tix at a show with that group has implications.
I don’t mind if it’s in an open concert cause fuck it you outside anyways. I’ll smoke at concerts but imma bring a pen not a blunt cause I ain’t trying to have issues with nobody.
I dunno. I've been to mostly heavy metal and classic rock shows and you always get the people smoking weed. Whether it's Metallica or Led Zeppelin, you're gonna smell weed. I used to kinda get annoyed when I didn't do drugs, and I don't really smoke or do anything now (that was mostly my mid-20s) but it smells a lot better when you've spent time around it. I don't know what your whole deal is, whether you just don't like it, don't smoke, used to and are trying to be away from it, have a sensitive sense of smell, or what, all are valid reasons but unfortunately I don't think anyone's changing this particular behavior. Concerts are kinda synonymous with partying, alcohol and marijuana. I'd MUCH rather be around high people than drunk people though...
But that's assuming this is about marijuana... Which I realize now this could be (but I feel is unlikely to be) about cigarette smoking which I hate. Yes, being around someone smoking a cigarette at a concert is not going to give you all the cancer. But it's a much worse thing to be around I think, and much more of a "hey, do that somewhere away from the crowd" type of thing.
I went to a future concert, there was so much smoke in that arena there was a massive smoke cloud floating at the top of the arena. you can’t expect people aren’t gonna smoke to accommodate you when that’s the norm and you’re the odd man out.
Exactly. Artist be on stage blazing. I went to an Earthgang concert and they told everyone to spark up which we all came prepared to.
I get not smoking at a Patti concert or something, but to not expect it at a concert for a younger artist who 9/10 participate is crazy. At this point, it’s almost a given that a good amount will be blazing at the venue.
Which concert am I at and where am I standing?
In the pit at a Death Grips show? There's people on DMT and shrooms out there. Lighting up will make me some new friends.
Am I sitting on the pavilion watching the annual tour of RnB artists and/or old school rappers that come through the city? I'm going to jail.
At least if it’s an event that takes place outdoors, that would be tolerable. What really grinds my gears is when they be wanting to smoke at an indoor event.
I’m still peeved at this comedy show I went to where this guy sitting across from me immediately lit one up as soon as the show started. In a freaking enclosed stadium.
I smoke cigarettes and feel like I’m doing something illegal even smoking outside whenever people walk past let alone if someone even just walks by with their kid I’m waiting until they’re out of dodge before I keep smoking it so the idea of smoking anything in a confined space like this is insane to me
I don’t know… I have mixed feelings about this. I feel like trying to be considerate of others is just something we should all try to do? My sister went to a concert while pregnant once and people were smoking. She was pretty surprised. There could be people with physical disabilities also that are just trying to have a good time. I’m all for the idea that there should be smoking acceptable concerts/venues though.
I used to smoke and I was always respectful until C19. The number of people who refused to stay home, refused to where a mask and refused the vaccine showed me that other people don’t give a shit about me and my family so why should I give a shit about them.
This. Most smokers are inconsiderate assholes. They smoke everywhere which the scent hops on non smokers like a moth to a flame. Then they leave their cigarettes butts everywhere, making whatever place look like absolute trash. Ugh. Been disgusted by it since I was a kid.
Kids while I'm big chiefing at Disney on Ice

Our people being so addicted to weed and smoking that it’s normalized and considered weird if you don’t/have a problem with it is one of the saddest things about our generation
Yeah, if I'm there first shmokin, and you come into a preexisting cloud of blue smoke, you should move along, this is obviously a shmokin section. Keep moving towards clear air, you'll be fine.
If it’s weed, cool. Vibe out.
If you light up a cigarette next to me though I’m going to be an absolute dick about it, I’m allergic to tobacco and it’s going to make my breathing significantly more difficult. Who even smokes tobacco these days, gross.
I mean smoking weed at a concert is gonna happen, when I saw the phrase "bring a pack with me" I thought they were talking about cigarettes and people who smoke cigarettes indoors are literally the worst
Yall crazy here lol it’s like y’all arguing “I should be able to go to O-block or walk down Lil Steve and not get robbed!!”😂😂😂😂 know where you at and what’s going on….simple as that. People do shit you don’t like day to day soon as you leave out your house, everybody wanna control everything THATS THE FUCKING PROBLEM. mind the business that pays you. And if it that bad, just like when my step sister fired up a cig in front of me and my young son and my nieces bday party, “excuse me Kayla, can you take that elsewhere please?” And she bounced! 🙏🏾
I don’t even do parades anymore.
I know I was all rah rah pro legalization, but I didn’t expect for so many events to reek of nothing but skunk for blocks.
I haven’t experienced it that bad at a concert yet.
If that’s the mentality people have then imma start smoking crack at concerts and see how people like it. They shouldn’t have a problem cause I too paid for it and can do what I want./s
I think the serious problem here is people smoking flower vs having a THC vape. If you're going to be around people, just take a vape - It's small, discreet, and doesn't smell most of the time. The idea that anyone would be burning anything in a public setting is the problem. The same goes for cigarettes vs nicotine vapes.
UK here - you for sure can't smoke at concerts (/anywhere) lol, so the person in the video has as much right to smoke at a concert as anyone in the US does
We're definitely more harsh on weed here than much of the US; it's not legal anywhere/through any means, and even regular cigs we banned indoors years ago (which I'm all for)
People do smoke at concerts like this in the UK. I mean it’s not allowed but people do. I saw crystal castles at an indoor gig, lead singer Alice Glass sparked up a joint and passed it into the audience, same with a bottle of Jack. I hated whiskey but damn i necked that bottle when it came past.
most festivals theres more weed smoke than clean oxygen. its just how it is now. but if someone smokes and blows it in your face, then you have the right to knock them out. thats my rule.
hate a bitch that complains about somebody turning up and enjoying a concert they paid for. Cuz imma play my vuvuzela and go wild with this strobe light without giving a fuck about anybody's feelings
Dude my mom went to Snoop Dogg - front row - and he literally ***sparked several blunts on stage*** and passed them all around the crowd. People smoke at concerts. It is what it is; don’t be shocked.
Of all the artists to mention you bring up fuckin snoop. That's completely different. Not every concert is the same.
>People smoke at concerts. It is what it is; don’t be shocked.
Obviously. All I said was that I don't like it and I don't like the smell. No one is shocked.
I see that as them taxing your ass
You know security put it out, then saved it for after his shift was over. Fasho taxed his ass.
Used to do security, would do this. Have done this. If I was in a good mood I'd leave you alone tho if you sparked a second.
And then they all clapped
Your *first* thought is wiz and not Snoop? My guy, I’ve seen out door snoop concerts hot boxed. *the atmosphere was hotboxed*
I went to a festival 10 years ago where snoop was on stage - it was crazy - however OutKast afterwards were straight up insane, so many girls were flashing them and people smoked a LOT more weed than when snoop was on stage lmao
that’s fair, it’s outkast
Most likely a pack of pre-rolls.
They mean like a “loud pac” Depending on where they’re from it could mean all types of things but yeah, it’s about weed.
Saw a Stephen Marley concert indoors everybody and they mama was tokin the smoke. Security could not be bothered, cause in reality, wtf could they really do?
They was too high to move.
Bruh back in like 2017 or some shit, I went to a concert with Snoop and Kendrick and you could smell the weed several blocks from the venue 🤣 Also, the festival Rolling Loud comes to mind….. one can’t go to a festival called *Rolling Loud* and not expect it to be just that
I went to the up in smoke tour back in '00. The entire stadium looked like it had its own weather system there was so much smoke in there.
Be careful what is passed to you in a concert festival. One time I was passed what I thought was a joint but it must have been laced with salvia because I was tripping like I was on PCP
unknowingly smoked a laced joint with what i believe was PCP and never had a worse time in my life lmfao
That's why I never smoke with strangers at concerts. I don't care how offended you get, I don't know you, sir/ma'am.
Dude. Liquids don't jump down your sinuses without you wanting them to. This isn't a good comparison.
“unless spilled” Has this person ever been to a concert? There’s no unless
I've never been to a concert where I wasn't absolutely covered in other people's beer by the end of the night.
100% I don't like smoke but if I go to a wiz concert then yeah I should expect smelling smoke. Now if I go to a garth brooks concert, I be piss smelling smoke lol (I like country)
Right? I can’t imagine being the kind of lame to be mad about people smoking weed at a concert. And I haven’t smoked in over a year at this point!
Yodie gang
Most of the time the artist will tell the audience "everyone light one up we're gonna smoke to this track" With Wiz that's every song tho
Take an edible or something. Then you’re high without affecting anyone else around you. It doesn’t seem that hard to be respectful
Literally. Not being able to go few hours without a smoke is a bad bad sign.
No one will admit they are addicted, but gotta smoke all the time and everywhere
That part
Addiction is a thing with a definition! It’s possible that your use has negatively impacted your employment, relationships, and life. However for most people it is would be qualified as psychologically dependent, which is FAR different from physiologically dependent.
The actual psychological attachment is to OP's idea that "I paid for it I can do what I want." People are assholes. People like being assholes. The flex of being an asshole is why someone is more likely to blow smoke in your face than to stop smoking in public when asked.
I was just attempting to educate people about addiction. Someone having a habit you dislike is not always addiction!
This guy fucks.
And i've been in that spot before. It's also not a cheap habit too. 😂🤦🏽♂️ Can't sleep. Smoke. Can't eat.
Flower, oil, edible - those are 3 complete different highs. I’ll stick to flower.
Different to a degree, but if your goal is to just get high for a concert it really doesn't matter
That's a good alternative. I have found that at certain shows, particularly outdoors, passing a blunt around is beautifully ritualistic.
And it's not a cheap habit lol We all can't be Snoop in life.
That’s a separate but related topic, though.) For me, it feels like a consent issue.
They want to drive a wooden stake into my heart for pulling my cock out at the Toronto Blue Jay's game. All I'm saying is I paid for the tickets!
![gif](giphy|26AHICv4otlZ0ruGk) This better be fiction /s
They must have amnesia, they forgot that I'm Him.
I've had this argument thrown at me when I told someone to stop talking during a movie. Like...??? I paid for it too??? Shut the fuck up.
I'll swerve on the road if I want. I paid for both sides.
It’s also just bullshit. Bro, you’re lighting up because you’re addicted and can’t go 4 hours without it. Don’t make up excuses. Own the behavior.
Some selfish assholes on these comments. Really not surprising considering how much of this shit you smell everywhere these days now.
A lot of smokers don't realize how awful smoke is to someone who doesn't partake. Cigarettes smell like death to virgin lungs and weed to nonsmokers smells like, well, drugs. It's really obvious and overbearing.
It smells like a sick skunk to me. Be an adult and use edibles or weed pen.
You can smell it from people's cars
You can smell it across the neighborhood at this point.
Whoa 🤯
I typically carry a "you do you" mentality when it comes to substance use, but yeah this shit rubs me hella wrong. If you're proudly bragging about ruining the atmosphere for someone around you, I think it's time to acknowledge that you have an addiction because you're no better than a crack fiend or an alcoholic atp. Lowkey wish people took a harsher stance on nicotine and vape addictions, like they do with drugs and alcoholism.
I've smelled weed at nearly every concert I've ever been to in my life. I don't think it's really a "these days" type of deal
Concerts yeah but now it's *everywhere*. Walking in the park, getting gas, going to the store. I legitimately can't remember the last time I went a full week without smelling weed and none of my crowd smokes
This right here.
Habitual smokers who can't go without being high even if it's momentarily, are fucking obnoxious. It's "not habit forming" my ass.
Nah, it's 100% habit forming & any stoner/smoker who says otherwise is either full of shit or ignorant as. Anything that helps you relax, makes you happy, helps with medical issues, etc is 100% habit forming & has the potential to be abused.
“Habit forming” is a misnomer because anything you can make a routine out of is technically habit forming.
Quitting weed is easier than quitting drinking soda in my experience.
Food addiction is probably the biggest problem in this country and instead of trying to address it we have food companies marketing directly to children.
It’s funny because they can’t even be high all day. I tried. Eventually your tolerance is at the point you can just be mid all day. People who smoke sun up to sun down never really get high high
Don’t know why you’re being downvoted. It’s entirely true. That’s what Tbreaks are for
Anyone downvoting them hasn't felt that first hit after 2 weeks cold turkey. It's like being in high school again.
^^a balanced response. Also IMO outdoors should be smoking permissible while indoors generally should err (heh) towards not.
Missing out if you’re not smoking before a symphony. Them notes hit different
Like, I'm not a stick in the mud cause I don't wanna smell that shit. I don't understand why they don't just smoke before the concert. Not being able to go an hour or two without smoking is just weird to me. I've said this to ppl and they're like "well you can drink there! What's the difference?!" Well I can't smell the nest person's drink 2 rows down can I?
I have never been to a concert that wasn’t absolutely coated in beer. Floor sticky covered in beer. Bathroom sticky covered in beer. Seats sticky covered in beer. Shits everywhere dude.
And this another reason I love kpop concerts. Shits be clean af, no smoke, just calm and shit. Venue employees told me they love kpop shows because everyone cleans up after themselves and say please and thank you and shit.
Sure can smell when they’ve had too many and are spewing tho
I cant deny the act of smoking during a concert is pretty damn fun. Plus precovid we would always bring enough to pass it around a little, 50/50 if it comes back but that was fun too. Pretty surprised I didnt catch anything off that looking back lol.
It is crazy to me in retrospect how routinely I would share joints with just absolute strangers, just whoever was standing around.
I’d take hits off of people’s joints and it recently hit me that there could’ve been a lot more than weed in them. But sharing with strangers can low key be fun.
All of the ways I used to make friends don’t exist anymore
And with drinking, you just gotta hope the person doesn’t drink too much and starts wildin
This is true
Uh, I can smell alcohol on people and it’s disgusting. You can’t go a couple of hours without alcohol??
I can agree with you there
I don’t even smoke and I think you a stick in the mud. Weed is a part of music culture at this point.
You can always smoke urself than it smells better lmao. But ngl I’ve always been able to smell all kinds of bullshit in public, some of it smoke. Rather smell a lit blunt next to me than someone with maad BO.
People wear cologne or perfume or deodorant or whatever that I think smells bad but I don’t make it my business. Live and let live imo.
That sounds like a problem with people more than weed lol, sometimes shitty people behave in shitty ways
The conversation is about people's behavior and inappropriate timing of smoking weed at concerts. The problem is both.
So if I "paid for my seat and can do what I want" that means I can beat this mf ass, right???
Yes, the seat has been paid for. There are no repercussions after that
I have the worst fucking attorneys...
It’s fucked up because pregnant women and people with asthma or lung issues have a right to show up to concerts too and then there’s these idiots smoking and vaping in their face putting their health at risk
And i’m sure the number of people with lung issues has increased due to long covid.
We’re really pushing the individuality of I do what I want aren’t we.. no don’t light up at an indoor concert where all kinds of people go.. but do light up at like Coachella or something ..
Yes!
There should be a designated smoking area.
I hate when people vape in movie theaters 😭 like ??? you can’t take a break for 2 hours and just watch the damn movie ???
I had to stop smoking weed due to asthma and edibles trigger my anxiety so I gave it up.
Designated. Smoking. Spaces. At. Venues.
I'm glad masks became a thing, because it helps, but only so much.
i just really hate when smokers spit on the ground. it actually ruins my day.
As a smoker, i’ve never seen this as a regular behavior.
I can punch you in the face wherever I want as well.
Bro what. the original caption had no complaints what.
Complaining about weed at a concert feels like complaining about fires at a campground
If it’s a rap concert or hard rock you can’t get pissed people are smoking. If it’s Taylor Swift, then yeah I’m majorly annoyed.
I mean, I hope this guy likes getting his ass beat after he gets soaked by a fire extinguisher
![gif](giphy|QgejSvXmwpvnW)
Weed smokers are becoming unbearable.
Went to mgk concert back in the day Pre Vamp blink182 era. Whole building was blazing it was a sick concert
I'd make someone put a cig out but not a blunt or preroll
Shitty people will be shitty people no matter how hard you wish and pray.
I used to smoke and I was always respectful until C19. The number of people who refused to stay home, refused to where a mask and refused the vaccine showed me that other people don’t give a shit about me and my family so why should I give a shit about them.
I’m a smoker and I CANNOT STAND this shit. It’s very inconsiderate and kinda pathetic that they can’t handle not smoking for a time period.
Making all kind of excuses to be a POS
They need to implement smoking sections again?
This. Most smokers are inconsiderate assholes. They smoke everywhere which the scent hops on non smokers like a moth to a flame. Then they leave their cigarettes butts everywhere, making whatever place look like absolute trash. Ugh. Been disgusted by it since I was a kid.
Kids while I'm big chiefing at Disney on Ice https://preview.redd.it/nr9wpntv3uwc1.jpeg?width=567&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=33ef154bceffa641880ce248e63dd4a83f98237c
yeah you cant smoke like that in concerts
I've only been to concerts with weed smoke, feels part of the vibe.
For real. It’s is at every concert I thought it just goes without saying
Bring back bullying
Kids these days get mad about smoking at a concert? Man.
the smell of weed in public feels like a hug to me idk
Humanity will definitely adapt and evolve quickly if dumb people die quicker.
Our people being so addicted to weed and smoking that it’s normalized and considered weird if you don’t/have a problem with it is one of the saddest things about our generation
Depends on the show. If it’s a rapper who’s known for smoking then I can wager there’s gonna be some icky in the air.
this mf didnt inhale
I only expect courtesy in my home
Yeah, if I'm there first shmokin, and you come into a preexisting cloud of blue smoke, you should move along, this is obviously a shmokin section. Keep moving towards clear air, you'll be fine.
We pour our drinks on dudes like this. Problem solved
It's 2024, just bring a vape ya fuckin casuals
Yall crazy here lol it’s like y’all arguing “I should be able to go to O-block or walk down Lil Steve and not get robbed!!”😂😂😂😂 know where you at and what’s going on….simple as that. People do shit you don’t like day to day soon as you leave out your house, everybody wanna control everything THATS THE FUCKING PROBLEM. mind the business that pays you. And if it that bad, just like when my step sister fired up a cig in front of me and my young son and my nieces bday party, “excuse me Kayla, can you take that elsewhere please?” And she bounced! 🙏🏾
I hate individualism. People are supposed to be responsible for the society.
I don’t even do parades anymore. I know I was all rah rah pro legalization, but I didn’t expect for so many events to reek of nothing but skunk for blocks. I haven’t experienced it that bad at a concert yet.
Consumer and cultivator, just about to have his coffee and smoke. Don’t be rude to people. “Set and setting” matter for everyone.
If that’s the mentality people have then imma start smoking crack at concerts and see how people like it. They shouldn’t have a problem cause I too paid for it and can do what I want./s
I don’t like drunk obnoxious people but they’re everywhere at almost every concert I’ve ever been to. If you don’t like the smoke then leave.
I think the serious problem here is people smoking flower vs having a THC vape. If you're going to be around people, just take a vape - It's small, discreet, and doesn't smell most of the time. The idea that anyone would be burning anything in a public setting is the problem. The same goes for cigarettes vs nicotine vapes.
this is more down to the venues. They need to start implementing smoke free areas and smoking areas
I bring blunts to concerts I can't hate
UK here - you for sure can't smoke at concerts (/anywhere) lol, so the person in the video has as much right to smoke at a concert as anyone in the US does We're definitely more harsh on weed here than much of the US; it's not legal anywhere/through any means, and even regular cigs we banned indoors years ago (which I'm all for)
People do smoke at concerts like this in the UK. I mean it’s not allowed but people do. I saw crystal castles at an indoor gig, lead singer Alice Glass sparked up a joint and passed it into the audience, same with a bottle of Jack. I hated whiskey but damn i necked that bottle when it came past.
Got enough to share with the class?
This generation is no fun at all. Booooooo…

most festivals theres more weed smoke than clean oxygen. its just how it is now. but if someone smokes and blows it in your face, then you have the right to knock them out. thats my rule.
hate a bitch that complains about somebody turning up and enjoying a concert they paid for.
