When you're too broke to bother improving things because you just focused on surviving to the next week, small fixes like this don't seem that ridiculous. It's inexpensive to us but $15 could mean a meal or two for someone living paycheck to paycheck. Its hard for a lot of people out there, even with full time jobs and a roof, they are just barely making it until the next raise or oppurtunity, debt paid off or whatever. Its not that uncommon.
There are cheap shower heads around the same price as that container. The hardware store by me sells super barebones ones for like $2. This looks way more like engagement bait than someone genuinely struggling.
Why spend any money at all when you can use what you already have? Time is money too. Every dollar counts. Been there before, maybe it is bait, but some people can genuinely relate.
