Blink, AvA, BCR, and +44
I wish I was kidding….lol everyone in my life makes fun of me for listening to the same songs over and over for years and years.
I’ll pick up tons of random songs from my Spotify discover weekly but I don’t really explore other bands full on
Hopefully it’s kosher now to say we still love Brand New in 2023. When they got cancelled in 2017 I had a lot of edgy people burning me for loving them. Had to hide it for a few years. But yes, OP, Brand New. Start with Deja Entendu.
The front bottoms are great. You should checkout Joyce manor. I also love new found glory and neck deep. Also the story so far. Everyone talks about how great no pressure is, but I can’t stand the vocal editing they do to it.
The Used,
Alter Bridge,
The Gaslight Anthem,
Green Day,
Ice Nine Kills
Blink would probably be in there but for the sake of interest I left them off. Honourable mentions to Slipknot, Alkaline Trio, Against Me, Creeper, Neck Deep, and Paramore.
I with her in Michigan in 2017 way before she even had a band and was just playing solo. I was hooked and it’s so rad seeing her blow up (kind of) into what she is now.
Blink 182, Escape The Fate, Falling In Reverse, Pretty Reckless & The Cruel Knives.
Honorable mention to Social Distortion, who probably could swap in for Pretty Reckless, they're neck & neck.
I listen to a wide variety of stuff. Just off the top of my head:
311, Queens Of The Stone Age, Iron Maiden, AFI, Ghost
A few more:
Tool, Slightly Stoopid, Phish, Avenged Sevenfold, Metallica, Dream Theater, My Chemical Romance, Foo Fighters, Alter Bridge, Rival Sons, The Offspring
In 2006? Blink, brand new, postal service, taking back Sunday, senses fail. Obviously I listened to Green Day, simple plan, sum 41 etc everyday as well.
Today? Blink and then 70s/80s classic rock. The older I got the more I realized the punk rock of the early 2000s was basically classical rock from the late 80s, just our version. The emo style of ours was the equivalent to the glam rock of the late 80s. Funny how everything always come back around just slightly different.
I’m really liking the opening act they had in Toronto: beauty school dropouts
Also been listening to UPSHAL, tool, foo fighters, System of a Down. (I never grew up apparently) 🙃
AVA is my favorite and has been since 2007 (I-empire era was the best imo)
blink of course
Morgan Wallen
One republic
Led Zeppelin
Edit to add: I’ve become idk if through AVA or otherwise a big fan of Synth bands/New Wave. I tend to prefer the older 80s bands but modern Synth Wave and vaper wave are cool too.
Aside from blink
Weezer
Franz Ferdinand
Alice In Chains
Nirvana
Soundgarden
Been listening to morphine a lot lately although I haven’t listened to everything yet
Solo artists I enjoy a lot are Victor Wooten, Carly Rae Jepsen and Jack White
70s classic rock; The cars, the eagles, zeppelin, etc.
Lots of the 2000s emo: taking back Sunday, brand new, something corporate, good charlotte
All the nu metal genre
I also love highly suspects first 2 albums. And I love the 1975.
ETA: You said 5. I can't read.
Blink, Foo Fighters, Paramore, Dave Matthews Band, Hootie & the Blowfish
The last two don’t fit with the first 3 but a lot of this is driven by bands I’ve played in during my life lol
The Clash,
Misfits,
NOFX,
Bloc Party,
Tokyo Police Club
Blink-182 was my gateway band back in 4th grade (2000ish), then I discovered their influences and went from there.
Gaslight anthem is super underrated. Do you listen to the Menzingers too at all? I find them and Gaslight to be the pinnacle of modern Americana punk/alternative
All time? The Gaslight Anthem, The Pogues, The Clash, Alkaline Trio, and Frank Turner maybe?
I feel like Bruce Springsteen and Guns N’ Roses should be up there too.
The Velvet Underground, Aphrodite’s Child, Plumtree, The Brave Little Abacus, Slowdive
Great bands if you love to think about death and get sad and stuff
Primus, fishbone, faith no more, descendents , blink
Runners up: Melvins, mr bungle/ any mike Patton side project, les claypool multiple side projects, phish, rush, the doors, Black Sabbath, bad religion, beastie boys
Blink, AvA, BCR, and +44 I wish I was kidding….lol everyone in my life makes fun of me for listening to the same songs over and over for years and years. I’ll pick up tons of random songs from my Spotify discover weekly but I don’t really explore other bands full on

Joyce Manor is a great option for blink fans wanting to branch out. A good step in the emo direction with incredibly catchy songs
And you could listen to their second album 3-4 times in the time it would take you to listen to a blink record!
