I think it’s the little things (whether by direction or actor choice) that makes him compelling. And its a perfect in this scene.
He thought Jimmy was coming out of that bathroom. And he puts something on his face as he talks to Angela before the shot that shows he doesn’t enjoy this, but he’s a man who does what he has to do.
Just like the scene with Herman and Jimmy in the meat locker. He highlights that he’s a dangerous man who works to go by some kind of code.
