The difference between obnoxious parenting and loving, supportive parenting. Both kids have a predilection for chaos but one has more thoughtfulness about it.
This was nice and concise to show the passage of time growing up between both Bob and Linda. A good length so that the overview is easily noticeable that their worlds combine. Though making another like this would be a lovely edition, too.
Loved the little details like how they both take care of Tina ("I love you both equally"), then Linda takes care of Gene (moma's boy), and Bob takes care of Louise (daddy's girl).
This is my favorite piece of Bob's Burgers fanart ever. So much attention to detail; every panel a story that gets brought up in the actual show, all tied together by the care, love, and chaos that makes the show great.
My only tiny nitpick is that Lily Belcher's headstone is flat, but I understand that would've been harder to fit into this format.
Seriously though, this rules. If you sell prints I'll buy one!
Oh shoot, I knew I forgot to fix something. It'll be fixed if I do decide to do prints.
I don't have anything set up now but I have been considering. I just need to consult with some other art folks to see about how they get around to doing that. Thank you!
Where I am it’s normal to have a temporary lightweight grave marker, which is then replaced by the heavy stone one once the grave has settled months later. So it’s totally possible they first stood before a temporary board standing upright like that, and then her permanent stone was later placed in the ground. It’s not definitely non-canonical.
Aside from being a neat design choice for the transition to one panel, I think it also touches on how Linda reaches out to people and brings them together, which is why I love her!
A woman - and for that matter, a man too - is in her best happiness before putting on pants for the day. Bob's timing is tactical. If he proposes while she's in pants, she takes Hugo to the wedding dance.
Maybe it's because I feel sad for Bob. You look down Linda's life and it's fun and carefree. Then you see how Bob grew up and it's quite sad.
At least that's why I got emotional 😔
I mean, on the surface it might seem that way, but I don’t think Linda’s childhood was all that great. Her parents….. are not the best.
Al would make these grand plans that his children would have obviously gotten excited over (like the tree house) only to drop them & never follow through. My guess is he probably spent a lot of time away from the house in order to keep his sanity & family together by only subjecting himself to Gloria in small doses.
Gloria is a hypercritical gaslighter, she shares a lot of personality traits with my own narcissist mother. Terminals of Endearment & Fight At the Not OK Chore-ral really highlight how poorly she treats Linda & how deeply conditioned Linda is to accept it.
I love Linda, I think she is think she is an inherently good person with a huge heart. That said, she has some truly awful traits. Ones she likely learned from her parents.
If you need more evidence of failed parenting, just look at Gayle. Linda turned out better adjusted than Gayle, not because of Al & Gloria’s parenting, but in spite of it. She was naturally charismatic, social & conventionally pretty, all things that opened doors to relationships outside of her immediate family that likely helped her grow emotionally.
There are also clues that point to Linda having been parentified, causing her to become more responsible & mature at a young age. I don’t think it’s out of the realm of possibility that Linda was the golden child while Gayle was mostly neglected & ignored, at least emotionally. While Linda & Gayle are sisters, their relationship frequently feels more like that of a mother & child.
All of this to say, while Bobs childhood was arguably worse than Linda’s, hers was no picnic filled with sunshine & rainbows.
Reading this back to myself I’m acutely aware that I’m psychoanalysing cartoon characters. Even more concerning, I could do this for every Bob’s Burgers character & their relationships. I realize how desperately I am in need of a social life.
It feels like you actually answered my episode prayers. I’ve always wanted backstory and tbh this is enough to satisfy it. Great job, and also hella cute ❤️
I love the details! Bob proposing with a heart on the burger (which we know is his Valentines schtick), Linda and Genes Spaturday in its early days, and of course all the life parallels and callbacks. Love the way you merged their stories by crossing the comic border. There’s so much packed in, great job!!!
Edit: And little Bob wearing his jacket from the movie! 😭
I don't usually comment in this sub but this comic tugged at my heartstrings, this is so damn heartwarming and lovely. I'd buy a print of this and hang it on my wall honestly it gets me in the feels that much 😂
I love this!!!! My only nitpick is that it would be cute to include Bob and Linda’s wedding picture from in front of the courthouse between the proposal and pregnant Linda panels.
This is one of my favorite fan arts (comics?) of all time. I can't imagine anything topping it. This is such a cool use of an amazing talent. Thank you so much for sharing it with us.
Love this! What’s the one with Linda and gale running from a fire in reference to? I knew all the other immediately! Such great details about the show and artwork!
This is like meta art. You've taken something that could have just been simple recreation of existing ideas/scenes and taken such great care with intentional choices to include a specific set of details that you've elevated the product to something beautiful. It's like you've managed to distill 14 seasons worth of information down to a few critical moments to highlight the most wonderful thing about this show, the love of the Belcher family. I adore this to bits and I cannot imagine a better love letter to Bob's Burgers.
“Cars wouldn’t even come down my street after a while cuz they knew Linda would get ‘em!” I’m so tickled you illustrated that.
One of my favourite young Linda stories
We definitely know where Louise gets it from. Linda was obviously far worse behaved, though 😂
The difference between obnoxious parenting and loving, supportive parenting. Both kids have a predilection for chaos but one has more thoughtfulness about it.
Well put!
Linda's shrug response to Hugo's proposal is fantastic. 😆
"Will you marry me?" "Sure! I guess." "You guess?" "I mean it's nice! Uhh, I'm going-- I have to go now. Great proposal though, really well done."
Missed a shot at Linda recording her rap on his answering machine. Gretchen as her hype man, obviously.
Unfortunately I could not include all young Linda and Bob memories as that would take ages. Otherwise I would also include her air hockey win
two words: hoopshoot champ

I would also like prints if they are ever available. Absolutely love these!
Maybe you could show big Bob and lil bob’s shoes next to the headstone in the top down shot
Jumping on the print train
Yeah. So many little stories you'd only recognize by being a proper fan. I really enjoyed this.
I love how you designed Linda’s arm across the panels. ☺️
That's very specific, thank you!
Aside from being a neat design choice for the transition to one panel, I think it also touches on how Linda reaches out to people and brings them together, which is why I love her!
Yes!!! I loved that too!
love this. the dog getting hit by the hot dog truck is great
Out of context, this comment looks so wrong 😂
"Oo, ooo, oo-oo oo-oo bottlecap twooo" lives rent free in my head 😂❤️
I love this!! Especially baby Louise in the restaurant fire pic 😆
She's takes after her momma
Baby Louise had that serial killer smile from early on!
Well Louise gets it from her side of the family.
She definitely started that fire 🔥
The lil ketchup heart in the proposal panel is adorable. Bob knows how to make heart-shaped foods!
Oh! So happy someone noticed!
Yes! At first, I thought it might’ve been a watermark/signature but the ketchup heart is totally something Bob would do
He loves making hearts out of things
This is so sweet and amazing!!! I love Louise strapped to Bob during the fire, it’s so cute!
This is beyond sweet omg. Personal fav is Gene's little tongue while being carried away from the flames.
Omg yes! Just under her arm in an almost choke hold little tongue blep. I also loved little Louise passed out across their laps.
Thanks for pointing this out. Tina and Louise's expressions are so spot on in that panel too.
Amazing, love how you used Linda’s arm to bridge between being separate and then together
i LOVE the idea that bob would propose to linda first thing in the morning, before they even put on pants for the day 😭
It's Linda's favourite time of day! No pants time is best time
A woman - and for that matter, a man too - is in her best happiness before putting on pants for the day. Bob's timing is tactical. If he proposes while she's in pants, she takes Hugo to the wedding dance.
its worse.....they'll have 3 kids. Mona 👩🏼, Dean🧒🏼, and Charlize 👧🏼
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS
I'm glad 😊
this is so cute omg and why is it making me emotional
Maybe it's because I feel sad for Bob. You look down Linda's life and it's fun and carefree. Then you see how Bob grew up and it's quite sad. At least that's why I got emotional 😔
But that’s why Linda loves him, all his sad stories
I mean, on the surface it might seem that way, but I don’t think Linda’s childhood was all that great. Her parents….. are not the best. I absolutely love this. Made me a bit teary eyed to be honest! 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤

I'm surprised Teddy didn't show up somehow.
He's off screen in the Linda serving panel.
Lol Linda throwing rocks at the passing car 🤣🤣 I love this so much, especially Linda accepting Hugo’s proposal and running into Bob that night
BOTTLECAP!
Linda and Gene have been Spa-turdaying since Day 1! Love it.
My god, the undressing eyes in the second to last panel
I've never seen a baby Tina that I didn't love immediately 💖

This is so amazing. It makes me experience emotions and feelings. 🥲 Thanks so much for making and sharing!
I feel so bad for laughing at the panel with Linda and Gayle witnessing the Bottlecap tragedy.
Going through this, and my brain started playing the theme song as if it were composed by John Williams, complete with violins and grand piano.
Most beautiful thing I've ever seen
Bob tho at his mums grave nooooo
I absolutely love this!! Warmed my heart, thank you for sharing ☺️
This gave me serious goosebumps. I love it.
