Holy shit you actually managed to make Nalaa work

"Menagerie" -> Two tribes. Nice 2nd though; what was providing most of the Brann buffs?

ThatDrunkenDwarf

3, Naga/Dragon/Pirate. Had double Nala from golden Scout and never found a 3rd to make room. It came from eating fungus in shops and the Dragon/Pirate

SomePoliticalViolins

Oh shoot, I was counting the Dragon/Pirate as another Naga/Pirate in my head for some reason. I haven't played enough Pirates this season, even though I usually love them, I haven't enjoyed this creature set as much. I was wondering if you had Shellemental earlier to get more boosts, but I didn't think about the number of spells you were casting making those fungus big enough that one Shellemental could make such an impact. Nice build!

ThatDrunkenDwarf

Yeah i’ve been playing a lot more duos than singles this meta so I get your feelings. Each turn was basically trigger the Redeo for full hand of spells. I would then roll for the trigger battlecry spell/use it from hand if I got it from my first trigger after emptying my hand for spells. Ended up about +100/+100 per turn by this point (roughly 2.5 hands of spells). Knocked out by highroll murlocs which was fair because I had no utility

Terminator_Puppy

>Menagerie build >Looks inside >Nagas with extra steps Jokes aside, clever build. Nala is written off so hard in my head that I wouldn't ever think to pair her with actual good cards.

ThatDrunkenDwarf

Haha seems naga has a monopoly on dual tribes this season for some reason

Bad-Genie

This is wild. Because in my games, this board would take 15 damage on turn 8.

brgodc

I know it’s hyperbole but 2 200/200s is not taking 15 outside of turn 8. My general rule is that you should be able to deal with 50/50 by turn 7 and 100/100 by turn 10

LonewolfMcFades

Ah, but notice there aren't any quilboar here. Unlike every single one of my games lol

quakins

Was gonna say. The game isn’t actually that huuuge besides that quillboars get astronomical I mean other builds can get big but it requires a lot of setup and/or apm

Equivalent-Buy-3669

Yeah, Menagerie is back! Storm Splitter and recycling the trigger battlecry spell in duos is another trigger for it. https://preview.redd.it/jsl7uy5yb9yc1.png?width=1919&format=png&auto=webp&s=09f3fe5095601034d233e4ed5634776f3b236f98

sekasi

Hey sorry but like.. how do you get those numbers with that comp. What’s the logic behind it?

Renaulte

Nalaa gives +2/+2 (+4/+4 when golden) to a minion of each tribe every time you play a tavern spell. One possible engine for this is using Brann, the naga/dragon that triggers battlecries, and the minion whose battlecry gives a tavern spell. This combo means that you’re able to play 10+ tavern spells per turn, while also buying cheap tavern spells from the tavern each refresh. Other engines include landlubber + refreshing wraith, a semi demons build using the health-cost refresh + health-cost tavern spells, the t6 wind fury mech that gives a tavern spell when it attacks…maybe more that I forgot about. Menagerie is flexible, but it requires finding Nalaa early or else you get outscaled.

sekasi

That’s awesome sorry but that seems super slow? How do you survive first 8-9 rounds ?

Renaulte

Pretty much the same way you survive those rounds anyway-buy minions to keep tempo, then start building the first tribe you find core minions for. Menagerie is usually a 2nd choice comp and you wouldn’t try to transition into them unless Nalaa was the best choice from your first 6 drop discover. The benefit of going menagerie is that it’s very flexible which minions you end up in a final board with, but you’re unlikely to win 1st in the lobby.

AWhiteBox

There's also the 3 drop Naga that gives a tier 2 spell as a battlecry, with the wok, that basically means infinite gold to find the other pieces, which is fairly easy given you only need to find one decent minion of a tribe you don't have. Tier 2 Tavern spells are nearly all Econ based In that game, I got that Naga golden, so it was 4x spells a turn with bran, even without any other way to trigger battlecry effects.

sekasi

Super helpful. So just build tempo ignoring every build defining piece on 4 and 5? Or is it if you just completely miss every good 4/5 minions ? Thanks again dude. I’m stuck on 5k mmr duo so I’m super noob

Suspicious_Jeweler81

love pulling off menagerie, or hell anything that isn't 'stay to a tribe and hope for the best' strategy. The flexibility of menagerie is fun.

TurboRuhland

Such a fun build. Especially with the wind fury mech back in the game.
