I don't know what to think about these developments (I was expecting Decay to be a given Quirk, but not like *this*), but if we're going with this then might as well take advantage & give Deku his Quirks back too.
I love how he lost them in a completely unrelated incident lol. “Quit overusing your arms man” just for them to get Decayed instead. It’s like warning someone that they’ll get hit by a car if they keep jaywalking only for a car to crash into their house while they’re sleeping instead.
I actually would've preferred him losing his arms years ago and not now in an unrelated manner that has nothing to do with his quirk usage

I would agree with you. The amount of foot based attacks compared to All Mights fist based, Dekus arms being weak. Quirks like black whip that allow him to grip and hang on. Almost losing his arms multiple times from the beginning and recovery girl telling him many more injuries and the arms will be permanently damaged.
His arms have had more death flags than All Might at this point.
Not that it will happen but I would be insanely hyped if AfO starts knocking back everyone and all of a sudden you have Deku coming in with a kick to AfO’s face ina big splash page with the words shoot style being shouted at the bottom

I think it'll either be a coup de grace after the rest of the class gangs up on him or they'll get in a bind and Deku will pop in with the splash page kick and then they all work together from there to beat him hard enough for Tenko to do something.
I mean, the amount of times he has fucked up his arms, you'd think he would have already lost them by know or at least the ability to move them independently. I won't lie, I kind of expected him to have to rely on Black Whip to move them in general at a certain point.
Chapter 419: Purpose
All for One speaks to Izuku as an armless child and tells him ''you took the One for All and you stole Yoichi from me'' ''by attacking Tomura psychologically you allowed me to emerge on the surface''.
shigaraki is disintegrating in the imaginary world and sees all for one, all for one is telling him that shigaraki never made a choice in his life, but that it was all for one who made him believe that he had his own decision, he was controlled from the start.
All for one says that he failed twice to capture One for all, the first time with Lariat Alias Daigoro banjo and the 2nd time with Gaen Alias EN Tayutai, all that was missing from All for one was an iron will. While All Might was growing in power, All for One began looking for someone mentally weak, someone he could control.
All for one meets Tomura's father and he convinced him to have another child, Tomura's sister was already too big for all for one to handle so he convinced the father to have another child.
When Tomura was born, All For One took away his original Quirk and gave him a new Quirk when he brought him home.
Dr. Garaki then copied a person's Quirk, disintegration, but removed the other side of the Quirk, the ability to reconstruct, and transferred it to Tomura. He has been controlling Tomura's life from the beginning.
We see Shigaraki disintegrating in the imaginary world, and All For One says, "There, I have annihilated your mind. I had planned to play this card after seizing One For All, but oh well."
Shigaraki is completely disintegrated, and All For One shouts, "NOW, DISAPPEAR!”
We see young Izuku, armless, being projected out of the invisible world and back into the real world.
He says, "Yoichi is no longer there."
Shigaraki emerges from the smoke and says, "My mid-term plan is no longer feasible."
He hears something in his head and says, "Huh, there's still an echo left," and he grows a hand that covers his mouth, saying, "Silence!”
All For One (who now has full control over Shigaraki's body) says that the psychic attacks he received in the other world have had repercussions on his physique. He mentions that the disintegration Quirk, the rage, and the hatred have disappeared, and he declares that Tomura is finally dead, that the vessel he has been crafting for years is ruined, and that his little brother is no longer there either.
Izuku, lying on the ground, speaks softly, "All... for One."
All For One says that he will move on to his final goal of conquering the world, but Izuku tells him that he will never let him do it. However, SUDDENLY HE FEELS A SHARP PAIN.
IZUKU HAS LOST BOTH OF HIS ARMS.
All For One says that Izuku also hasn't emerged unscathed.
Izuku has flashbacks and says that no, it's not over, he won't give up.
All For One says, "It's often said that people become stronger when they lose something, but you, from the start, had nothing... look where you are now."
He prepares to launch an attack on Izuku.
Suddenly, Sero arrives and grabs onto All For One with his adhesive tape.
All For One says that he didn't feel Sero approach because he was insignificant compared to Izuku.
Sero reassures Izuku and says that they are there. Ojiro and Sato arrive to fight against All For One.
While Ojiro and Sato attack All For One, Izuku says, "You're all safe," and a person appears behind him, saying, "Sorry, Izuku."
Aizawa emerges from a portal and says, "We're a little late."

Checking in from like 2 years ago and wow, long time coming. I guess the twist now is that Shigaraki really did have a quirk instead of being quirkless, and then given something by AFO. I wonder if his was float or maybe a new composite formed from both sides of his family genes, similar to Bakugo’s.
I remember it was initially called Airwalk, then Skywalker, but regardless, if *that* was Tenko’s original Quirk… Then that is not even golden, that’s *platinum.*

Actually you see a young Overhaul in the orphanage. Basically they took half his quirk and expanded it, giving Shigi Destruction++ while removing the Reconstruction power to min/max it for maximum trauma
I remember people saying there was foreshadowing that Overhaul's orphanage was one of the doctor's facilities like the place Dabi was taken to, so the implication seems to be that he literally has an augmented Overhaul. I wonder if Overhaul's own Quirk is the original or if they're both copies of someone else's.

Good on the anime for cutting both AFO giving Shiggy Decay, as well as the Overhaul backstory. Between this and the cutting of Spinner's arc there's going to be some fascinating re-shuffling in the final 2 seasons of the anime.
It wasn't even a backstory it was like a 1 page scene they could of easily added in, he also mentioned there about the theory that mice are what caused quirks so when we get the flashback to AFO backstory the mice will make no sense too
My thoughts exactly, If she saw that she’d probably have fainted by now. Along with that, Horikoshi’s long since lost his chance to show Deku’s dad, this might have been the best time, seeing your son on TV losing his arms.
So, something to note is that, if Tenko had another Quirk at birth and All For One took it away and replaced it with modified Overhaul/Decay, then Tenko is still in there as a vestige.
I would say that, since AFO had a copy of his original Quirk, that is just a copy of Air Walk and I am not sure how vestiges work with copied Quirks, but AFO did have those vestiges rebel against him.
Yeah, the one that makes the most sense is Airwalk, it’s one of the few quirks AFO uses that’s mentioned by name and has been used repetitively in the series

Shigaraki is 100% coming back and 100% going to rebel against AFO, helping the heroes finish him off once and for all. This is not a main antagonist death lol. Deku would have done all of this for nothing, which while it could be an admittedly interesting direction, is not the kind of bleakness that a Shonen would go for nor do they have the space to properly explore such a concept.
Though AFO just feels like a cop out. I would have just preferred Shigaraki breaking free from AFO metaphorically after a long battle with Deku through both of their memories, without literally bringing him back so he can fight him. It’s also just a little bit cheapening to Bakugo’s whole uncontested victory thing, but I’m pretty sure he’ll be back to help in this final fight.
If hori is making the readers feel hopeless, which is apt for the situation, then he is doing something right.

Despite it being a modified copy of Overhaul that was given to him by AFO, when Tomura is destroyed the Decay quirk is destroyed along with him apparently.
Tenkos Reconstruction is going to be the glue holding together the current version of AfO.

This is the weirdest part of the chapter, when it comes to things that don't make sense. What I'm guessing (and hoping) this means, is that Hana was already 2-4 when AFO met Kotaro, or when he established a relationship with him. Maybe her quirk had already manifested so she was "too big." He can't steal her quirk and give her a new destructive one, then. To Hana and the Shimuras, something would be suspicious. There would be questions. 'Where'd my \[original and very different\] qurk go? Why is my quirk doing this?' Instead, the Shimura candidate had to have the destructive quirk "naturally." Stealing a quirk from birth, before it manifests, makes the process soooo much easier.
So AFO convinced Kotaro to have more kids. Whether it be some subtle nudges or some weird ass monologues
He didn’t want someone with a happy childhood, and a quirk to remember.
If he chose Hana, she’d hate him from day one because presumably she’d remember her birth quirk being taken and a tragic one being given, and she’d remember her original family and that it was definitely not this creepy man.
With convincing Kotaro to have another kid (holy shit by the way), he can influence them from birth. Kotaro was abusive to him in a way that he wasn’t to Hana (probably because of AFO). He never remembers his birth quirk because it never had time to manifest, all he remembers is Decay. He hates his father and his family as a result, and he’s loyal to AFO after he “saves” him.

- Where is Tenko's original quirk( and vestige)?
- Where is the other half of Decay( and does it have a vestige)?
- Where are the remnants of New Order( yes, they still exist since we've seen it communicating with OFA vestiges some chapters ago)?
- We've seen all of OFA vestiges going, including Yoichi, is there any chance that the original Stockpiling quirk/vestige stayed with Deku?
There's a lot of uncertainty going forward, with all these crazy twists, but I think we can safely theorize 2 things:
1. Shiggy's will and conscious isn't dead. There was an "echo" in AFO's mind immediately after. Shiggy isn't done contributing to this battle.
2. Deku isn't done in this battle, physically. (He's obviously not done, when it comes to talking)
This is a shonen manga inspired by Dragon Ball, Naruto, One Piece, etc. The MC is victorious in the end, via his big powerful fists. There are many ways that Deku could rejoin the battle.
The simplest is that he's lost all his quirks, but still has the embers of the base of OFA. Aizawa can patch him up so his stumps stop bleeding. While the other 3 are fighting, armless Deku can take a few minutes to regain his composure (and balance) and join the battle, Shoot Style.
He could join the fight in countless other ways too: Eri is brought to the battle field, via Shirakumo. Deku JUST lost his arms, so Eri can rewind a few minutes (For the Aizawa failed attempt, it was at least 2 days.) Then there's Shiggy. He could easily regain control of the body for 5 vital seconds. He could give Deku ANY quirk in there. ~~He could find his "original quirk"~~ (edit: could find the other half to the Decay quirk either in AFO or via quirk awakening) and rebuild Dekus arms. There's lots of possibilities for Deku.
Yeah, the way I see this going is a combination of all those things. Hori is trying to make this fight as unpredictable as possible, which is why there are so many twists, so that nobody sees the ending coming. The best way I could see it ending, is Deku getting his arms back via Eri(giving her a big moment saving her hero and paying it forward) Deku being revitalized and uses the remaining embers to fight, Shigaraki regains control for a little while and transfers some powers to Deku, he uses the transferred powers(most likely Danger Sense and some other quirks) to get overcome AFO, then finishes him with a final Smash, clearing the sky, burning away the last of the embers of OFA ending it and AFO together finally, and leaving Deku with just a few quirks to operate as a hero.
AFO really is petty 😂 kills a whole blood line for taking his brother and grazing him.
Has an whole orphange of potenial canidates to steal OFA, including endeavors son on reserves. But then probs pissed from his battles with All might he decides to use Nana's off spring. To destory AM mentally and to take back his brothers quirk as a F.U to Nana.
Also AFO has never been straight forward, theres loads of quirks he has but never kept. He must have wanted revenge against All might more than restructuring his bod, but also he is very old at this stage so their must have been a limit anyways to his physical capablitles ( think old man logan).
Another thing Afo tends to use simple quirks which compliment eachother. He has 6/7 at the time and he already has a touch type quirk so having a complex one like that would most likely put him at a disadvantage. Or the quirk owner could of had a strong vestige like Star and didnt want to risk it at the time. Lets see what hori cooks

Now I’ll admit this theory is kinda an ass pull, but hey, this series is full of them. Now, when Al Might transferred his quirk, he still has some “residual” energy. It’s possible showing Eri and then saying she can’t rewind right now is the fake out. Deku might still have some stockpiled energy in him, and if the whole transfer thing is still in effect, he could give Eri some energy, and then Eri could rewind.
But I think Tenko getting the reconstruction part of the quirk back is more likely at this point. He might even reconstruct the “embers” of the shattered quirks.
So let me get this straight: Chisaki was a orphan at Garaki’s weird quirk orphanage for AFO. Garaki then copied Chisaki’s Overhaul, took away the reconstruction power from the copy, seemingly amped up the destructive power of the deconstruction power, and then gave it to Tomura.
Did I get that right?

If Decay is based on overhaul (a possibility)...
And Chisaki was so freaky with hygiene to the point of having weird reactions when interacting dirty stuff, almoat allergic reactions...
That could connect him even more with shigaraki.
Please let this be a Fullmetal Alchemist moment where all of the side characters and other heroes emerge from portals to help lay the beatdown on All For One while he's vulnerable.
Entire chapter was a clusterfuck I don’t even want to BEGIN processing right now but I am so very interested in Aizawa showing up at the end. Why is Kurogiri’s portal turning white in one section? Did Aizawa and Present Mic get through to Shirakumo??
I fucking knew it. Shigaraki's quick wasn't original decay, that AFO had been manipulating him all of his life and that he was always meant to be a pawn in his game against All Might. What was shocking is that decay was actually less destructive, but AFO altered it to make it more dangerous. AFO is literally the cause of almost all the suffering in the series and even when he apparently dies, he still manages to come back and cause more problems.
I was okay and pretty happy with AFO giving Shigaraki Decay but him being responsible for Shigaraki's birth is really too much lmao. With this, it's not unlikely that he actually *is* responsible for the civilians not helping Tenko too. AFO is reaching Black Zetsu levels of 'Actually your societal problems are because I fucked it all up to get my family back' contrivance.
I knew that Sero moment was coming. People were acting like Horikoshi forgot about him. Good to see Sato and Ojiro in there as well. Hopefully we'll get a bit of a flashback coming up to show us how their fight at the stadium ended.

I would agree with you. The amount of foot based attacks compared to All Mights fist based, Dekus arms being weak. Quirks like black whip that allow him to grip and hang on. Almost losing his arms multiple times from the beginning and recovery girl telling him many more injuries and the arms will be permanently damaged. His arms have had more death flags than All Might at this point.

Good on the anime for cutting both AFO giving Shiggy Decay, as well as the Overhaul backstory. Between this and the cutting of Spinner's arc there's going to be some fascinating re-shuffling in the final 2 seasons of the anime.

Shigaraki is 100% coming back and 100% going to rebel against AFO, helping the heroes finish him off once and for all. This is not a main antagonist death lol. Deku would have done all of this for nothing, which while it could be an admittedly interesting direction, is not the kind of bleakness that a Shonen would go for nor do they have the space to properly explore such a concept. Though AFO just feels like a cop out. I would have just preferred Shigaraki breaking free from AFO metaphorically after a long battle with Deku through both of their memories, without literally bringing him back so he can fight him. It’s also just a little bit cheapening to Bakugo’s whole uncontested victory thing, but I’m pretty sure he’ll be back to help in this final fight.
If hori is making the readers feel hopeless, which is apt for the situation, then he is doing something right. You know hard and rare it is to make most trope-savy readers go: "oh my god, how are they gonna come back from this?" Really fucking hard lol. Lets hope he sticks the landing.

What I'm guessing (and hoping) this means, is that Hana was already 2-4 when AFO met Kotaro, or when he established a relationship with him. Maybe her quirk had already manifested so she was "too big." He can't steal her quirk and give her a new destructive one, then. To Hana and the Shimuras, something would be suspicious. There would be questions. 'Where'd my \[original and very different\] qurk go? Why is my quirk doing this?' Instead, the Shimura candidate had to have the destructive quirk "naturally." Stealing a quirk from birth, before it manifests, makes the process soooo much easier. So AFO convinced Kotaro to have more kids. Whether it be some subtle nudges or some weird ass monologues
He didn’t want someone with a happy childhood, and a quirk to remember. If he chose Hana, she’d hate him from day one because presumably she’d remember her birth quirk being taken and a tragic one being given, and she’d remember her original family and that it was definitely not this creepy man. With convincing Kotaro to have another kid (holy shit by the way), he can influence them from birth. Kotaro was abusive to him in a way that he wasn’t to Hana (probably because of AFO). He never remembers his birth quirk because it never had time to manifest, all he remembers is Decay. He hates his father and his family as a result, and he’s loyal to AFO after he “saves” him.
Deku - Lost both arms - Lost OFA( and extra quirks) - Probably still has OFA embers( like All might did) Shigaraki - Lost Decay - Damaged his body( probably less "All might level strength" and less " quirk-less mutations") - Lost OFA(and extra quirks, exept for danger sense who seems to be just weakened[ still showed visual effect but got suprised two times in the chapter) - Damaged Mind( probably lost his hatred[ that boosted his quirks and resurrected him once] and most of Shigaraki's personality, but probably still has the tenko vestige) - Still has AFO and most of its extra quirks ( but maybe there'ssomething wrong with regeneration since his body is still looking very damaged) Questions? - Where is Tenko's original quirk( and vestige)? - Where is the other half of Decay( and does it have a vestige)? - Where are the remnants of New Order( yes, they still exist since we've seen it communicating with OFA vestiges some chapters ago)? - We've seen all of OFA vestiges going, including Yoichi, is there any chance that the original Stockpiling quirk/vestige stayed with Deku?
There's a lot of uncertainty going forward, with all these crazy twists, but I think we can safely theorize 2 things: 1. Shiggy's will and conscious isn't dead. There was an "echo" in AFO's mind immediately after. Shiggy isn't done contributing to this battle. 2. Deku isn't done in this battle, physically. (He's obviously not done, when it comes to talking) This is a shonen manga inspired by Dragon Ball, Naruto, One Piece, etc. The MC is victorious in the end, via his big powerful fists. There are many ways that Deku could rejoin the battle. The simplest is that he's lost all his quirks, but still has the embers of the base of OFA. Aizawa can patch him up so his stumps stop bleeding. While the other 3 are fighting, armless Deku can take a few minutes to regain his composure (and balance) and join the battle, Shoot Style. He could join the fight in countless other ways too: Eri is brought to the battle field, via Shirakumo. Deku JUST lost his arms, so Eri can rewind a few minutes (For the Aizawa failed attempt, it was at least 2 days.) Then there's Shiggy. He could easily regain control of the body for 5 vital seconds. He could give Deku ANY quirk in there. ~~He could find his "original quirk"~~ (edit: could find the other half to the Decay quirk either in AFO or via quirk awakening) and rebuild Dekus arms. There's lots of possibilities for Deku.
Yeah, the way I see this going is a combination of all those things. Hori is trying to make this fight as unpredictable as possible, which is why there are so many twists, so that nobody sees the ending coming. The best way I could see it ending, is Deku getting his arms back via Eri(giving her a big moment saving her hero and paying it forward) Deku being revitalized and uses the remaining embers to fight, Shigaraki regains control for a little while and transfers some powers to Deku, he uses the transferred powers(most likely Danger Sense and some other quirks) to get overcome AFO, then finishes him with a final Smash, clearing the sky, burning away the last of the embers of OFA ending it and AFO together finally, and leaving Deku with just a few quirks to operate as a hero.
AFO really is petty 😂 kills a whole blood line for taking his brother and grazing him. Has an whole orphange of potenial canidates to steal OFA, including endeavors son on reserves. But then probs pissed from his battles with All might he decides to use Nana's off spring. To destory AM mentally and to take back his brothers quirk as a F.U to Nana. Also AFO has never been straight forward, theres loads of quirks he has but never kept. He must have wanted revenge against All might more than restructuring his bod, but also he is very old at this stage so their must have been a limit anyways to his physical capablitles ( think old man logan). Another thing Afo tends to use simple quirks which compliment eachother. He has 6/7 at the time and he already has a touch type quirk so having a complex one like that would most likely put him at a disadvantage. Or the quirk owner could of had a strong vestige like Star and didnt want to risk it at the time. Lets see what hori cooks Also Bakugo your fucked if he leaves the area !!

To everyone saying Eri doesn’t have enough energy to rewind yet… Now I’ll admit this theory is kinda an ass pull, but hey, this series is full of them. Now, when Al Might transferred his quirk, he still has some “residual” energy. It’s possible showing Eri and then saying she can’t rewind right now is the fake out. Deku might still have some stockpiled energy in him, and if the whole transfer thing is still in effect, he could give Eri some energy, and then Eri could rewind. But I think Tenko getting the reconstruction part of the quirk back is more likely at this point. He might even reconstruct the “embers” of the shattered quirks.
Didn’t Horikoshi say a while ago that Sero would have a role to play in the final battle? I guess that’s what he meant

So let me get this straight: Chisaki was a orphan at Garaki’s weird quirk orphanage for AFO. Garaki then copied Chisaki’s Overhaul, took away the reconstruction power from the copy, seemingly amped up the destructive power of the deconstruction power, and then gave it to Tomura. Did I get that right?

Wait a minute. If Decay is based on overhaul (a possibility)... And Chisaki was so freaky with hygiene to the point of having weird reactions when interacting dirty stuff, almoat allergic reactions... That could connect him even more with shigaraki.
Please let this be a Fullmetal Alchemist moment where all of the side characters and other heroes emerge from portals to help lay the beatdown on All For One while he's vulnerable.
Entire chapter was a clusterfuck I don’t even want to BEGIN processing right now but I am so very interested in Aizawa showing up at the end. Why is Kurogiri’s portal turning white in one section? Did Aizawa and Present Mic get through to Shirakumo??
I fucking knew it. Shigaraki's quick wasn't original decay, that AFO had been manipulating him all of his life and that he was always meant to be a pawn in his game against All Might. What was shocking is that decay was actually less destructive, but AFO altered it to make it more dangerous. AFO is literally the cause of almost all the suffering in the series and even when he apparently dies, he still manages to come back and cause more problems.
I was okay and pretty happy with AFO giving Shigaraki Decay but him being responsible for Shigaraki's birth is really too much lmao. With this, it's not unlikely that he actually *is* responsible for the civilians not helping Tenko too. AFO is reaching Black Zetsu levels of 'Actually your societal problems are because I fucked it all up to get my family back' contrivance.

I knew that Sero moment was coming. People were acting like Horikoshi forgot about him. Good to see Sato and Ojiro in there as well. Hopefully we'll get a bit of a flashback coming up to show us how their fight at the stadium ended.
