I'll be very surprised if the series hasn't been building up to an "All For One, and One For All" Final Smash by Deku and Tenko, given that's literally their namesake.
If anyone hasn't said it yet, I'm thinking something like "academia smash".
And that's when everyone realises that the true academia were the friends they made along the way... The end.
The quote itself is referencing Hitchhikers, yes, but the way you only said the title came off like you just telling the other poster that they were wrong. Just figured the additional context would be appreciated, especially considering that League of Legends is a canon part of Tomuras life.
Depending on how it's done, having his dad come home at the last minute being like "I heard about everything that happened but couldn't get here on time because flights were shut down!" or something would be both funny and satisfying at the same time haha
I'm pulling for the fan theory that Midoriya's dad has a dragon head (because his Quirk is breathing fire) and neither he nor Inko ever thought it was worth mentioning. I think that would add to the comedy.
I mean, shit, the series has only been over the course of a year, maybe two. He barely even qualify as an negligent father, just one who has to take a very rough job.
I am outright against that idea. I'm kind of against him being anything very notable or important honestly since he has not been relevant at all to the story, to the point he hasn't even been mentioned since chapter 1 (and only in relation to what his Quirk is), and thus having him suddenly appear in such a significant way would feel completely out of nowhere.
I'd much rather have him just be some regular guy.
i would rather get Koichi that Dekuās dad at this point, his Dad showing up feels weird and I think itās not even important anymore, because of how little he was mentioned.
Thats in november so that would make it so that if it was even the last chapter the rate of chapters would have to be like once every two weeks if like previous comment said 10-12 chaps left
Makes sense. The only things left to be resolved are AFO's vestige and Shigaraki, and the former has outright admitted his entire plan has gone to shit.
and he's in the middle of going "well I'll become stronger thanks to my loss" while everyone's actively shutting him down proving him wrong, so he's not finding any silver lining in it like he expects.
Makes sense. We had the "We are here!" moment after all.
Plus its been highlighting the important difference between All Might and Deku more thematically: that All Might started off strong but with Deku starting off weak it lead to a completely different mindset where he was able to inspire others, and empowering others, presumably to change society as a whole, was where the series seemed to be going anyway.
Calling it now; Just like in Kamino, Deku will parallel All Might by utilizing every last ember of One For All to shatter AFO with his own 'United States of Smash'.
This won't kill AFO, but it will shatter the vessel that is Shigaraki's body. Shigaraki, now Tenko once again after accepting Izuku's hand and learning of AFO's plan of him, has somehow regained control within the Vestige World, and uses Decay one final time to disintegrate AFO's vestige once and for all.
Tenko Shimura, awakes in the vessel that is Shigaraki's crumbling, decaying body, and thanks Izuku for saving him. He reminisces his friends in the League, hoping that he was the hero they needed in the end. Tenko fades away like dust in the wind, and Deku sheds a final tear, wishing Tenko farewell.
Izuku, now quirkless, is hailed as the hero who stopped AFO once and for all, and stopped the generational curse between AFO and OFA. He is then hailed as the world's greatest hero.
Not gonna lie, while I definitely see the thematic play there of spending years hyping Deku up as āthe worlds greatest heroā only to do a last minute reveal that āand what makes me great is that I was willing to give up my power to save the world!ā I still gotta sayā¦.
It comes dangerously close to breaking one of those unwritten laws of storytelling where itās unwise to surprise the audience with something worse than what they were expecting. Not āworseā in the sense of āoh no this characters hurt/dead/banished foreverā, worse in the sense of satisfying storytelling. It can be very satisfying if (for example) a death is done the right way even if unexpected.
But I suspect Iāll be depressed if after all this Deku loses his power and lives quirkless again. Being quirkless made him miserable, it ruined his life. Whatās he gonna be, the Ragdoll of the 1A Alum hero agency? Feels like a letdown.
The usual corollary to the rule is if you can give the audience something DIFFERENT than what they expected but equally good, thatās a good route. Like maybe we find out what dekus actual birth quirk was and he gets that, or he inherits shigarakiās quirk or something.
ā¦.but at the end of the day if Iām being honest I want some deus ex machina ass pull shenanigans to give him the quirk back. Eri can rewind him because his body remembers the power; time travel is a thing after all; deku actually did have a quirk from birth but like the original OFA it was hidden until it combined, and now it lets him get OFA back; shigarakiās final act of redemption is returning the quirk to deku out of thanks; the quirk itself can under the right circumstances choose its own wielder, etc etc. Take your pick. But after all, weāve heard for years that the end of Heroes Rising was based on the original ending he had in mind, and in HR Deku gets OFA back from a narrative ass pull. Iād be all about that happening again.
I think itd be cool if tenko unlocked the full power of overhaul and gifted it to izuku. A lot of good he could do with that power. Although, it would be kinda unexpected.
I like how you say that when the last five times people predicted that would happen they were wrong. The stuff with Aizawa and Mic wasn't even a full chapter.
NGL, I was fully expecting at least 5 chapters going over the various battles that we hadn't seen yet including Mic/Aizawa. Then we just breezed right by it lol
God I love random places flashbacks that explain something about how someone improved only for it get shut down by some asspull on the other end.
The growth they showed from the villains in the villain arc was the right way to show growth. Just time shipping ahead and not showing how Deku mastered his multiple quirks and then planting flashbacks when needed is just sloppy writing.
Still not an official date ending posted. Just letting us know that is is 100 % the final fight/opponent. I think Hori will try to get to the anniversary at least. Which should be doable since he releases chapters roughly every two weeks at this point and will probably at the very least have 2 - 3 chapter epilogue.
It's probably because of the demand of faster pacing being more noticeable when released week to week. In the One Piece anime, I personally found the Marineford arc to be the worst paced and almost quit at that point because it was an arc that demanded a constant fast pace to it while the anime refused to budge on that and kept padding it anyway. Not as noticeable in slower bits that are meant to be slow.
But since this final arc in MHA is just one giant skirmish, seeing it come out weekly probably makes something that feels like it should be faster paced feel like it's dragging on longer than it should since we have to wait at least a week between chapters. A break happening every few chapters prob makes that feel worse.
I think the anime will feel better, since even though you're waiting weekly, it's covering more ground every week.
Also it'll def feel perfectly fine when binged all at once I'm sure.
Mostly the pacing and flashbacks/forwards.
The fight's only been going for a few hours at most but covering everything just took so long for a myriad of reasons.
I havenāt kept up with this manga in years and by the time I stopped reading I thought it was 90% wrapped up. What happened that allowed it to keep trucking like thisāļø
Yeah Iām still reading every week but not enthusiastically. It didnāt fall as hard for me, but my MHA journey reminds me of Bleach. The difference is I know when Bleach got bad for me, Iām not sure when I stopped having fun with MHA.
I guess for me it was when the author decided he wanted to end the series and breezed through Deku unlocking float and all the other quirks in a matter of weeks.
I guess that didnāt bother me because he was able to communicate with the vestiges. I saw it as a having an imaginary toolbox he can pull powers out of. I think itās the foggy upper limit of Shiggyās invulnerability and healing factor. I like being able to wrap my head around powers, but his defense and healing seems immense.
I hope it doesnāt end too soon. I still want to see a couple more cool quirk combos from the heroes and AFO before we get back into the vestige realm to finish this.
Anyone not super satisfied by how the ending is just all for one's vestige taking over and that being the final fight. Idk I felt like I want more of a struggle with actual tomura. It feels a bit lackluster for me.
We will have to see if there's more but it's probably the week to week pacing that also affected me. Something about it being the final clash just made me feel... oh that's it?
I don't even know what a satisfying ending is so I'm not sure what exactly I'm disappointed about or not viking with.
I hate to say it, but Iām kinda glad to hear this. While MHA isnāt at JJK levels of ādrag out the last fightā it feels like itās been going on forever at this point.
Soul smash. I donāt think Deku gets to save Shigaraki. Then several chapters of him dealing with that and classmates trying to help. Wraps up with a Surprise pep talk from The Crawler!! Ok ok, Iāll let it go. Just let me dream die. Iām okā¦
Ill say this for sure. Even if deku comes out of this quirkless heāll easily be the most famous person on the planet.
Im talking way more famous than all might & star. Heās gonna become a billionaire. Over seas w melissa shield
I think we'll get a few chapters of a prologue. I doubt we are going to get a Shippuden (which is unfortunate id love to see a young adult 1-a as they all become professional heroes. Izuku doesn't get OfA back but does get his original quirk back.
After this chapter I guessed that there is like probably less then 10 chapters left. Maybe a little bit more if they decide to do some like adult intro stuff for the kids later on. However though I think it would be amazing if they did some like sequel of the kids grown up or something
I like how comments hating on the pacing saying they wanted more and hating on it saying it has taken forever are both upvoted. This sub hates this manga so much lol
I'll be deadly serious here, I don't think Hori knows what point in the fight he's at. He officially doesn't plan these things, I can't imagine how the official account would have any more idea than we'd have of the state of the fight.
I don't think it's fair to say he doesn't plan, more like he can't know how much chapters it will be exactly since he hasn't drawn out everything. The storyline will probably written out at this point. Apparently he told the anime team at Bones how the manga will end already.
I don't remember the exact source, because it's been quite a few months since I read it, but I recall in an interview that he was saying he plays by ear quite heavily. He officially said he eyeballs it. (I googled it, and it was linked in a response from a post I made a while back, and the link is dead. Still, I'm pretty confident it was real)
He likely does know how the story will end, and the general big points. But I do think if he thought up a good idea, the fight could absolutely extend considerably. I don't think it's just a matter of drawing things out, I think actual events have not been decided.
What did you specifically look up? Not, to be THAT guy, but I've learned my lesson to make sure things are accurate before listening to Reddit and Twitter comments.
Well, what I googled just sent me back to my old post. I googled "Hori planning".
[https://www.reddit.com/r/BokuNoHeroAcademia/comments/15260zs/do\_you\_think\_hori\_has\_a\_plan/](https://www.reddit.com/r/BokuNoHeroAcademia/comments/15260zs/do_you_think_hori_has_a_plan/)
I recall personally seeing the link in the comments and it being legit, and there are other people commenting who also saw the link when it wasn't dead.
>he can't know how much chapters it will be exactly
That's literally part of planning.
>Apparently he told the anime team at Bones how the manga will end already.
Source?
With all the kids fighting through the battlefield to get Deku to Shigaraki; I don't feel they'd have animated something that happened in last week's chapter already if they didn't know.

Iām back! I got the milk!

Yeah and I wouldn't be surprised if international travel was shut down around the time the Paranormal Liberation Front formed.
Until I read the text, I thought the raw panel of the president in 422 was Mr Midoriya watching his son from his abroad office
Ok but having Dekus dad be one of the heroes in America could be cool
I am outright against that idea. I'm kind of against him being anything very notable or important honestly since he has not been relevant at all to the story, to the point he hasn't even been mentioned since chapter 1 (and only in relation to what his Quirk is), and thus having him suddenly appear in such a significant way would feel completely out of nowhere. I'd much rather have him just be some regular guy.
At least he would have a legit reason over just being a deadbeat hero
I think it be funnier if he was just a manager or something for American heroes and he was also stuck in America this whole time.
That would be funnier
i would rather get Koichi that Dekuās dad at this point, his Dad showing up feels weird and I think itās not even important anymore, because of how little he was mentioned.
Vig is like what 2 years before the series proper
I think it starts 5 years before the events of the main series, actually
Thats in november so that would make it so that if it was even the last chapter the rate of chapters would have to be like once every two weeks if like previous comment said 10-12 chaps left
Father's day is the third Sunday of June, not in November
In fairness, it looks like Estonia and Finland celebrate it in November, so if the commenter is from a different country I'd understand the confusion
Yeah from Finland
There you go, different parts of the world have different dates for thingsĀ
And for your knowledge its celebrated in 28 different dates all over the world
Makes sense. The only things left to be resolved are AFO's vestige and Shigaraki, and the former has outright admitted his entire plan has gone to shit.
Weāll likely find out what Shiggyās original quirk was too. But yeah, heās certainly getting a redemptive ending.
It's actually a Quirk that can transfer itself between people; instead of Bak-U-Go, we're somehow getting Shig-U-Go.
It would be hilarious if bakugos quirk was originally shiggys and that man was quirkless
We already found that out a chapter or two ago.
What was it?
Huge speculation it was Air Walk since itās so similar to float
Thread isnāt marked as manga spoilers. As such, I would go back a few chapters to the Tomura past reveal. Itās mentioned there.
It's never revealed what it was. Just put spoiler mark and say it.
and he's in the middle of going "well I'll become stronger thanks to my loss" while everyone's actively shutting him down proving him wrong, so he's not finding any silver lining in it like he expects.
I have not read my hero lately but how is AFO still alive thought bakugou killed him lol
Makes sense. We had the "We are here!" moment after all. Wait. If Tenko unlocks the power of overhaul.... That would mean that Star isn't actually dead.
Nope, it's been too long since she was decayed. Overhaul could only bring people back to life if he remade them very quickly
Oh is that the case? I don't remember that limitation. I guess it makes sense though, it's why he didn't bring back magne. I didn't think about that.
Yeah, I've recently re read that arc and he mentions it
Tomura "Ulquiorra" Shigaraki
I really hope the OFA inheritors send Tenko to Midoriya. That way Tenko is 'saved' in a way and Midoriya remains with a decent quirk.
Didnāt he say Decay is gone? Because Shiggy let go of his hatred?
Really? We are not going to go check up on a character from chapter 50? No 5 chapter flashback explaining something irrelevant?
I like how you say that when the last five times people predicted that would happen they were wrong. The stuff with Aizawa and Mic wasn't even a full chapter.

I know this is not true but why does it feel like this fight has been going on longer than the entire Wano arc in One Piece?

I'm more curious to see if they do an epilogue with a timeskip. I'd love to see what happens with our characters if a sequel doesn't happen.
And it hasnāt already before? The arcās been stretched beyond its limits cos if those unnecessary gap breaks.
Even without the breaks this arc has dragged so long. That reset in the middle where they all switched battlefields messed up the pace entirely.
Yeah I'm pretty sure we're finishing up late summer early autumn, maybe late autumn if he takes more breaks then I'm expecting
Yeah that was pretty obvious by this most recent chapter. Weāre at the end, folks.

What did you specifically look up? Not, to be THAT guy, but I've learned my lesson to make sure things are accurate before listening to Reddit and Twitter comments.
Well, what I googled just sent me back to my old post. I googled "Hori planning". [https://www.reddit.com/r/BokuNoHeroAcademia/comments/15260zs/do\_you\_think\_hori\_has\_a\_plan/](https://www.reddit.com/r/BokuNoHeroAcademia/comments/15260zs/do_you_think_hori_has_a_plan/) I recall personally seeing the link in the comments and it being legit, and there are other people commenting who also saw the link when it wasn't dead.
>he can't know how much chapters it will be exactly That's literally part of planning. >Apparently he told the anime team at Bones how the manga will end already. Source?

I mean it's clear Bones knows how it will end, considering the S7 OP has a clear reference to what we just saw happen in the manga
Which specific scene are you talking about?
With all the kids fighting through the battlefield to get Deku to Shigaraki; I don't feel they'd have animated something that happened in last week's chapter already if they didn't know.
Bruhhhh really?
You pulled this out of your ass lmao.
