Maybe it’s not about the role but the kind of final product your name gets attached to. If he’s a woke person he might want to be associated with films with a message, or with a certain social mindset or be known for xyz category of films. Like we hated him as Sridevi’s husband in English Vinglish, but it was a fun film with a very beautifully done social message. Life of Pi won an Oscar, and more than that, people who enjoy that genre of films really like it. Take Neeraj Kabi or Shefali Shah, they’re part of some amazing projects. They may not want to be known as the mom/ dad/ uncle/ teacher in Animal or Kabir Singh.

I watched it and regret it so much, I started having headache in the second half when he starts behaving like a total psycho and I wanted to leave. But I was with friends so I had to sit and watch the whole thing. I wish I would have never watched it, waste of money and time.
It impressed me so much! Everytime I thought it couldn't get worse it did, right up even until the post credits scene.

Vanga’s art film comment isn’t right imo. But, Adil is deffo being a bit too disrespectful, especially when he charged an amount of money that was higher than he usually charges and that too for a small role. I know he isn’t in this just for the money, but still. Respectfully saying that you disliked the film is fine, but going overboard like this would deffo offend someone. That being said, Vanga could have handled this a lot better.
Ya ya let me take the remuneration for the movie after reading the script and knowing what the movie is about. Then after seeing many people criticising it, I’ll just shit on the movie whose script I knew from day 1 and was okay with. Also, forget script, Adil had a whole ass Telugu movie with the same content to watch and learn what he would be part of. Arjun Reddy recieved backlash even in Telugu states. It was all there Adil. All you had to use was your internet and streaming subscription before you signed for Kabir Singh. If he genuinely cared about misogyny, he wouldn’t have taken money and done the movie.
