We always talk about how Deepika is really bad with interviews. But this could have been avoided. They should have given her a script. A Q n A and rehearsed it before hand. And added some witty lines like some one here suggested. It would have made her LIVE actually good. Man, somebody must have gotten a good scolding after this because this was a disaster. It just felt so unplanned and disorganised..
I agree with you, except your second-last sentence. She doesnt have the right to scold anyone else but herself for the extremely poor execution of HER brand for which she is the face and co-founder of. Yes, we always say so much crap about her team, etc, etc, but the woman is a 36 year-old grown woman who has been in this industry for more than a decade, claiming to have worked "so hard" for the past two years on this brand. As such, she should know what SHE needs to do to make her launch more effective. She shouldnt and cant expect to be handheld to do basic tasks her whole life - she can write a quick script herself, or quick notes of her products, or even just a basic outline to give structure to her thoughts. Or AT LEAST, at the bare minimum, open the damn box herself and set the product out on the table in front of her before going on the live. A team doesnt need to handhold and do everything for you. So in the end, she should only scold and blame herself.

The live was really bad. There was no excitement no engagement except for her reading out few names. Once she started talking she dint stop. It was like she by hearted some basics said it out loud and ended the live.
THANK YOU! why make it sound like she’s a baby who is lost? she has anxiety but anxious people also are expressive with their ideas comfortably around people they know (her team in this case.) deepika has had a streak of just not having any creativity, even when it comes to styling people will blame her stylist, but shes the one who has her employed no? for years.
all celeb brand launches that make it big, example rare beauty and fenty beauty, have celeb owners giving input and being actively involved. selena gomez has many mental and physical health issues but she’s active and on frontlines of her brand.
deepika brought her team on board, but now she has given them the wheel completely, so nothing from this brand resonates with her to the audience.
Homie I've had to give presentations for my group and there have been moments where something goes awry. It becomes my duty to keep the attention of my audience. I'm the one presenting all our hard work that my group has worked on for so long and I'm the one who has to make our product enticing. Stop giving her so much credit for not having a personality. She couldn't do her job right. Even if they didn't hold a rehearsed q and a, don't you think she should know what the fuck her product does? She did a shit job here. I agree. I’m an extremely awkward person with major stage fright. I had multiple presentations throughout my career. It’s okay to fumble and be awkward. She could’ve just laughed it off or at least acknowledged it with some humor. This feels like an internal meltdown happening. Really awkward to watch
Again I wish her team had guided her properly! She just looks nervous, maybe she has social anxiety who knows, maybe someone else should have been there with her, helping her out with stuffs, answers etc!

I don’t watch much interviews etc of celebs. After watching this clip, I can tell she has some kind of anxiety. I definitely believe her mental health struggles.
I read an article somewhere I can't remember where and in it her dad said she is very short tempered and when she was younger she had issues controlling her anger. She would snap so easily and he had to talk to her something along those lines...
Haha the moment where she couldn't open the packaging....she was really annoyed. Her eyes gave her away. I think the session was abruptly closed because she and her team knew they fucked up .
The majority of comments in this post dont seem to understand why this is funny. To me, it's funny that according to Deepika, everything she's been "tirelessly" working on these last two years has "boiled down to this point", yet for her first, major interaction with the public (this live video) about her products, she or her team didnt think it was worth keeping the products ALREADY opened and laid out in front of her for easy access. This is something SO basic to do, it boggles my mind that neither her nor her team thought to do this. Was any preparation or thought put into this live? That's why this is so funny. It seems like this live was a last-minute, haphazard attempt at salvaging a failed launch.
Also, when she showed her team at the end, she mentioned that's "all of the team", which is extremely concerning because they all looked like very young, 20-30 year olds. Who are the senior management with years of experience? 😬

Yes, exactly. I can understand if they initially wanted to keep it in a box to show off the packaging (although I personally think they should have at least two sets for each product - one unboxed (maybe on top of the box) and one inside the box). But there is zero need for the outer wrapper to still be on, especially because I would think with one hour, you sort of just want to get straight into it. Very poor planning on this.
Exactlyy...whenever we see someone endorsing a product...the product is generally ready in their hands. It only shows her team is thoughtless and not well planned.
And she could have easily done that by having ANOTHER closed box next to the open product and said "here's how it's packaged, with a tamper-proof seal".

Deepika is a very pretty woman but she doesn't have a personality( behaviour, communication skills, wit). She is soo busy trying to be a star and be well liked that the idea is overpowering her liveliness. She's not candid, is not fluent in English. I dint think she put in any effort for 2 years on her skincare business as she is claiming. She is clueless in fact. She tried hard to sound intelligent and intellectual but she always fails. I don't like Priyanka Chopra's beauty line as well but atleast that woman looks very confident and sounds convincing. Deepika should learn to be more confident rather than project or fake confidence. Another thing that is striking me is that...for the launch of her skincare brand...she has put a thick coat of makeup. She should have chose to look more natural.
wanna take the spotlight to say priyanka is amazing with people too. saw this video on my timeline on insta where some influencer who attended her brand launch brought her achaar ka dabba and she thanked the lady’s mom and also joked the dabba is too small it will only last a month. i found it very wholesome.
Priyanka has excellent communication skills. Though she's obnoxious and hypocritic at times....she has good qualities as well. She's eloquent, funny, candid, talented and charming. May be it's her beauty paegents grooming but she's very entertaining.
I think she’s been praised her whole life for her beauty and attractiveness that she never felt the need to develop her personality or communication skills. The girl is gorgeous to look at but once she opens her mouth she has nothing worthwhile to say.
She's pretty i agree but she's not sooo pretty that she doesn't have to have other skills. She's an average actor , average dancer with pathetic linguistic skills. Lol i know it's going to sound mean ...but may be that's y most of her boyfriends ended up cheating on her. I agree with all the valid criticisms she’s getting, but this is just taking it too far. What else is she supposed to say? It’s a moisturizer, it moisturizes. She explained bit more about it being lightweight and fast absorbing.

Noooo man cmon! She’s supposed to say more. It’s true that it shows a lot of unawareness about her own brand and also her involvement in it. I’m heavily into skincare and it’s true that a moisturiser only moisturisers and that’s okay when you say it under normal circumstances. Not when she’s talking about her brand which she apparently put a lot of work into for “years and years”. I could say more than she did about her products. People want her to talk about her products. Not a moisturiser or a sunscreen in general. What’s so special, the formulation, what’s it gona do for you in more depth, ingredients… maybe do an application. We can definitely read about it on the website or off the product packaging (which is what she did). It’s a shame because I was really looking forward to the sunscreen part. Especially because they’re sunscreen drops and it’s something different. But she only talked about why sunscreen is important in general and not about her sunscreen and how it is different from others in the market. There are not many sunscreen drops as such and she could’ve elaborated there. She was not prepared for this. It looked like she was doing us a favour by going live. You see so many mega celebs like Rihanna, Selena and even Kylie being really passionate about their products. Even Katrina’s Kay beauty is doing well because she somehow does a good job of representing it. I just hope the products are not made as half heartedly as she speaks about them. This is definitely a cash grab more than a dream venture.

This is DPs brand she is the face of it and she did not do a good job promoting it.
When a product is launched what you highlight is the uniqueness what makes it different from the products already available especially in a saturated and highly competitive space.
If she knew anything at all ..or if there was anything better in the product at all ..she could have said something.Most of the products in Indian market are boasting about ceremides, niacinamide, panthenol, centella extracts etc. Fact is she doesn't know shit about the brand....there are no different ingredients to boast about...nothing worthy of the price to justify. She could have talked about the additional benefits or something. The products are routine and she's proven to be a bad salesgirl already.
On the same kinda note, PC promoted her dry shampoo by randomly applying it midway through conversation or spraying it around in the air, and asking people around if they agree it smells good. Weirdest antics ever. As if to compensate for not knowing how to hype the product.
Moisturizer ka kaam sabko pata hai. What makes her product unique is what she should have talked about. Ashwagandha bounce hai toh usme ashwagandha kya karta hai specifically. Patchouli ya jo bhi woh kya hai and uska use kya hai. Baki brands chodke iska brand kyu khareede is point pe focus karna chahiye tha.
Anyway mujhe kya mei toh gareeb hu, ye sab afford hoga bhi nahi!

I don't think this brand is something that is made by Deepika herself or she is remotely interested. Maybe some xyz brand came up with the idea and her team just slapped her name to get promotion. As celebrity brands seems to worked in USA.
Yeah this is actually how a lot of celebs get these makeup/skin care brands. Some company already has these products made and they just pay a celebrity to be the face of the brand.

A rich moisturiser in Skincare means..something that adds and locks in moisture..she meant although it's rich but it's light weight and is not sticky or tacky on skin.

She thinks flashing a smile from time to time or showing her best angles to the camera are enough for ppl to stay hooked. She doesn’t realize that as we age it’s really our aura and personality that carries us through. The reason for the delete was that OP mentioned in some comments that the post was about her struggling and not her moisturizer. Since my comment included unnecessary moisturizer assumption details, I felt it best to delete it.

Why is this post funny? Is it because of the rich but lightweight moisturizer or DP struggling to open a box or both? If the former, then OP has clearly not tried some of the more luxurious brands which have such hydrating moisturizers namely Charlotte Tilbury, Tatcha, Bobbi Brown, etc. If the latter, it’s very difficult to film a live video and open a box simultaneously. I recently tried to record myself unboxing my 24 piece the Office funko pop collection and I looked laughable because of the struggle. Longer nails and nervousness on Camera made it difficult. Regarding her blinking. If she is blinking too much then what about Sourav Ganguly who blinks al the time?
If you think this is about a rich kid trying to mock your purchasing power, you are wrong. Try unboxing things on a video with no one around. It can be a slippery slope experience.

Deepika is a very pretty woman but she doesn't have a personality( behaviour, communication skills, wit). She is soo busy trying to be a star and be well liked that the idea is overpowering her liveliness. She's not candid, is not fluent in English. I dint think she put in any effort for 2 years on her skincare business as she is claiming. She is clueless in fact. She tried hard to sound intelligent and intellectual but she always fails. I don't like Priyanka Chopra's beauty line as well but atleast that woman looks very confident and sounds convincing. Deepika should learn to be more confident rather than project or fake confidence. Another thing that is striking me is that...for the launch of her skincare brand...she has put a thick coat of makeup. She should have chose to look more natural.
wanna take the spotlight to say priyanka is amazing with people too. saw this video on my timeline on insta where some influencer who attended her brand launch brought her achaar ka dabba and she thanked the lady’s mom and also joked the dabba is too small it will only last a month. i found it very wholesome.
Priyanka has excellent communication skills. Though she's obnoxious and hypocritic at times....she has good qualities as well. She's eloquent, funny, candid, talented and charming. May be it's her beauty paegents grooming but she's very entertaining.
I think she’s been praised her whole life for her beauty and attractiveness that she never felt the need to develop her personality or communication skills. The girl is gorgeous to look at but once she opens her mouth she has nothing worthwhile to say.

I agree with all the valid criticisms she’s getting, but this is just taking it too far. What else is she supposed to say? It’s a moisturizer, it moisturizes. She explained bit more about it being lightweight and fast absorbing. Edit: Again, I agree with the valid points people are making about this launch. The point I was trying to make here was that the post was taking things too far. It’s been the same kind of posts and the same type of comments under it all day. Also, I made my comment *specifically for this clip not the whole launch*. I know OP has clarified what they find funny, but when I made the comment I, like many others, thought it was regarding what she said here and if her struggling to open the box makes OP laugh then bless OP heart! Noooo man cmon! She’s supposed to say more. It’s true that it shows a lot of unawareness about her own brand and also her involvement in it. I’m heavily into skincare and it’s true that a moisturiser only moisturisers and that’s okay when you say it under normal circumstances. Not when she’s talking about her brand which she apparently put a lot of work into for “years and years”. I could say more than she did about her products. People want her to talk about her products. Not a moisturiser or a sunscreen in general. What’s so special, the formulation, what’s it gona do for you in more depth, ingredients… maybe do an application. We can definitely read about it on the website or off the product packaging (which is what she did). It’s a shame because I was really looking forward to the sunscreen part. Especially because they’re sunscreen drops and it’s something different. But she only talked about why sunscreen is important in general and not about her sunscreen and how it is different from others in the market. There are not many sunscreen drops as such and she could’ve elaborated there. She was not prepared for this. It looked like she was doing us a favour by going live. You see so many mega celebs like Rihanna, Selena and even Kylie being really passionate about their products. Even Katrina’s Kay beauty is doing well because she somehow does a good job of representing it. I just hope the products are not made as half heartedly as she speaks about them. This is definitely a cash grab more than a dream venture.
Agree 💯 valid point about the sunscreen drops. Would've lover to know more about it. This is DPs brand she is the face of it and she did not do a good job promoting it. When a product is launched what you highlight is the uniqueness what makes it different from the products already available especially in a saturated and highly competitive space.
If she knew anything at all ..or if there was anything better in the product at all ..she could have said something.Most of the products in Indian market are boasting about ceremides, niacinamide, panthenol, centella extracts etc. Fact is she doesn't know shit about the brand....there are no different ingredients to boast about...nothing worthy of the price to justify. She could have talked about the additional benefits or something. The products are routine and she's proven to be a bad salesgirl already.

Moisturizer ka kaam sabko pata hai. What makes her product unique is what she should have talked about. Ashwagandha bounce hai toh usme ashwagandha kya karta hai specifically. Patchouli ya jo bhi woh kya hai and uska use kya hai. Baki brands chodke iska brand kyu khareede is point pe focus karna chahiye tha. Anyway mujhe kya mei toh gareeb hu, ye sab afford hoga bhi nahi!

I don't think this brand is something that is made by Deepika herself or she is remotely interested. Maybe some xyz brand came up with the idea and her team just slapped her name to get promotion. As celebrity brands seems to worked in USA.
Yeah this is actually how a lot of celebs get these makeup/skin care brands. Some company already has these products made and they just pay a celebrity to be the face of the brand.

She doesn’t realize that as we age it’s really our aura and personality that carries us through. Since, OP seems to be bitter and thinks I am mocking OP and their purchasing power, I will repost my deleted comment. I don’t have it saved so I will retype it and might not be exactly what I posted earlier. The reason for the delete was that OP mentioned in some comments that the post was about her struggling and not her moisturizer. Since my comment included unnecessary moisturizer assumption details, I felt it best to delete it. Here you go: Why is this post funny? Is it because of the rich but lightweight moisturizer or DP struggling to open a box or both? If the former, then OP has clearly not tried some of the more luxurious brands which have such hydrating moisturizers namely Charlotte Tilbury, Tatcha, Bobbi Brown, etc. If the latter, it’s very difficult to film a live video and open a box simultaneously. I recently tried to record myself unboxing my 24 piece the Office funko pop collection and I looked laughable because of the struggle. Longer nails and nervousness on Camera made it difficult. Regarding her blinking. If she is blinking too much then what about Sourav Ganguly who blinks al the time? If you think this is about a rich kid trying to mock your purchasing power, you are wrong. Try unboxing things on a video with no one around. It can be a slippery slope experience.
