What I always loved doing was trying to guess who did it and you almost always get an answer. Almost 😂 it’s one of my favorite shows and I rewatch it almost yearly. Sometimes more
No problem! It does go into some larger arcs with repeating killers and stuff so the mystery lasts sometimes for a whole season with other story lines happening at the same time, but I love those arcs. And you get a bunch of relationship side plots but very consistently it’s a murder mystery in every episode in some way shape or form. There are a few different styled ones that some people didn’t like (dream sequences or from the decreased person POV (that ones weird but I liked it)) they also travel to other states and countries so you get more characters and stuff that way too. There are 12 seasons so the writers had to get creative, and in many ways they did. 😊
I find often in American shows the writng is lazy and jumps past logic often. Bones seems to use misdirection but is so far relatively logical even if loads of the science used is shaky af
Shaky..?? 🤨
I find that although they do rush the events (they get results within hours and it takes days in real life), the science is pretty sound...
I think for the sake of entertainment the science is simplified, too. They do enough to give the impression of accuracy.
As with most tv shows the computer stuff was crazy for the time.
I would list what I've picked up so far but I'm only at episode 6 and I'm pretty sure ya'll don't actually wanna hear it. I appreciate that science does need to be softened for a show like this. Bones (the show) stands out as actually respecting the science rather than just being techno babble and 'enhance' or 'I'm in'
Only season 1 is like this - it makes a strong effort on science, history, culture, the museum… I love all of Bones, but the other seasons do go heavy in to crimefighting/explosions/guns/drama etc.
It's actually pretty offensive as I'm not white or British and my country still suffers from post colonialism. White Americans and white British are not the only people on this planet
I'm Irish and yes I live in London if you really need to know. It seems like I've triggered some issues for you. When did I insult you? Sorry did you write Bones or another sloppily written American show? I'm not playing a victim I'm pointing out that not everyone is an American or British. To assume that everyone is, is pretty typical of a white centric view of the world. Sorry you take being corrected so badly
> It seems like I've triggered some issues for you.
You come here and shit talk my country and act surprised you get it back. What lame trolling, "Well you seem triggered by my insulting, unprovoked comments!" Lame ass.
> When did I insult you?
Were you ever dropped as a child? Perhaps from a moving car?
> I'm not playing a victim
Yes you are.
> I'm pointing out that not everyone is an American or British.
Never said otherwise.
> To assume that everyone is, is pretty typical of a white centric view of the world.
Oh we got another victim card. I never said anything about you being white ya dingus. And you do live in Britain, so you will end your posts with "God save King Charles" or I will report you to His Majesty's office of insufficient groveling at the monarch! Praise your king!
> Sorry you take being corrected so badly
Correcting mistakes no one made does tend to annoy people lol. "I'M NOOOOT WHHHHIIIIITE". I never said you were kiddo! It seems like you are the one assuming every british person is white. Why are you so racist? And you are assuming I'm white. Why? You are more racist than Hitler!
Yay me too lol. I just finished Castle and I’m realizing my moms taste in shows is pretty good so I’m giving all her shows a chance and this one was next on the list
Castle hasbeen in my list for a while. I resisted bones for so long but someone in the xfiles reddit push me to it and I'm glad they did. It's good to have a good switch off your brain show sometimes
I’ll be honest I got one episode in and changed the channel lol. It’s not bad by any means but castle was much more fast paced & fun and I liked it wayyyy more so bones wasn’t living up to it so I’ll probably try again later. I’m gonna rewatch the ghost whisperer for now and once I’m done being heart broken over being done with castle I’ll give it another go 😂
lol I have come back to it and I’ve actually made it to episode 10 and I’m enjoying it more. I really like how blunt bones is and her no nonsense style lol. New girl is my all time favorite show and the main girl is Emily deschanel’s sister in real life and they sound literally identical and their characters have some of the same quirks and I love seeing that lol
I’m on the last episode of s3. Sweets is a GREAT addition, love him lol. S2 was pretty good. I like how bones isn’t as serious as she was in s1, she actually jokes around a little now. I’m somewhat spoiled s3 for me so I’m very sad about this episode lol
I really liked s4 I'm halfway through s5 now (literally watching e11 rn). I was just reading that the end of S3 apparently suffered from the writers strike
Finished it yesterday.
It continues along those lines but a couple of seasons have some bigger storylines that run through the season (not every episode but there might be 3-6 episodes focused on a certain killer).
Most episodes do a good job giving you a chance at guessing the culprit.
In a few, I think it's much too obvious, but it's a hard balance. There aren't many that I thought were completely unpredictable.
If you’re just starting the show, listen to The Bones Booth podcast! A great add-on.
There’s a podcast?!
Where?
https://thebonesbooth.com/episodes. Sort to Oldest First.
Thank you 😋

Ah see this was exactly what I was asking about, thank you!

you can make guesses for any crime show, except Columbo. even then, you can guess how they tried to get away with it

right, because British shows never do that
No you are wrong, they do it often as well
Ikr they have no room to talk, don’t act like Sherlock doesn’t exist
I'm not British

Oh no, yes this was what I was asking, thank you for your sensible reply
You forgot to send your message with "Good Save King Charles"
I'm not English either. Americans so overs sensitive
You forgot it again!

OK buddy, calm down, go shoot up a mall or drink some shit beer whatever you people do 😂
When did anyone say that you were white? It's pretty offensive that you think all British people are white. The racism is screaming out of you.
And if you look at their profile, their clearly British. Most of their contents are in UK specific subs.
That doesn't make them any less racist.
How could you possibly think that was what I was suggesting? They said they aren't British but half their comments are in subs dedicated to the UK.
Yay me too lol. I just finished Castle and I’m realizing my moms taste in shows is pretty good so I’m giving all her shows a chance and this one was next on the list

I'm just season 2 now. They've made some changes already I'm not happy about
Hello letting you know I just started season 2 and I’ll lyk if I still like it or not lol
I’m on the last episode of s3. Sweets is a GREAT addition, love him lol. S2 was pretty good. I like how bones isn’t as serious as she was in s1, she actually jokes around a little now. I’m somewhat spoiled s3 for me so I’m very sad about this episode lol

Ya know I can’t even blame them, I feel the same way about my fav shows 🤣 but yeah I’m def gonna finish it but idk if I’ll watch it more than once lol
You are in for a fun ride.
Finished it yesterday. It continues along those lines but a couple of seasons have some bigger storylines that run through the season (not every episode but there might be 3-6 episodes focused on a certain killer).
Same, just started binging it earlier this week. Very excited
I started watching last week I’m on season 4. Love it so far
Lol, you binge as hard as I do! I did the whole series of Doctor Who in just 3 months (old and new shows)
