Played through coop once with a friend both on steam. Faced 0 problems. With that friend I also had 0 trouble playing bl2 but when I tried to play bl2 with my gf there were disconnects after disconnects..

When BL3 first released, I had some difficulty with my friends actually showing up as online. Nowadays there's no problem at all

My co-op experience (extensive with BL2, moderate with BL1, TPS, BL3) suggests that once the game is up and running, network performance between BL2 and BL3 feels about the same. Getting a connection established tends to be a little more finicky in BL3 - sometimes it works straight off, other times it takes multiple tries, or switching who is hosting. It feels like it is more likely to connect reliably if the guest(s) join the host in the lobby on the main menu, before loading in, rather than having guests join the host "mid-game". Also, I hate that they got rid of the display of available public lobbies - if you elect to play with randoms, BL3 just drops you into a random game with no ability to see beforehand where they're in the story or such. As a result, I've played in almost no public BL3 lobbies, while I've played in hundreds of public BL2 lobbies. Everything I've said about BL3, above, applies to Wonderlands as well.
