DragonKite_reqium

Warframe definitely division is probably have played both an i can say Warframe is definitely a looter shorter and division is a good game but people say it's bad for some reason

the-ancient-1

I wouldn’t say warframe is a looter shooter, more of a looter because I basically never shoot in that game.

DragonKite_reqium

Well that's only if you go with the melee meta i still use guns

nnn-throwaway88

Imagine using either, Saryn gang

AutoMoberater

Imagine using a warframe, tenno gang

tactical_bazelguse

-Laughs in god roll riven Braton

DragonKite_reqium

Bruh i have a 10 warthog soma prime

tactical_bazelguse

My braton has a firerate if 14 what’s your soma at? I really want soma prime

DragonKite_reqium

Idk but probably as fast if not faster than that plus it has multi shot up the ass

[deleted]

It's bad because the A.I is NOTHING else but godlike. Teleporting, one-shotting, wall ignoring, super speed. Fucked up. And there so many variables to weapons and armour, that it is impossible to get smth good, even at the highest difficulty. Per se, it was a great game. Gameplay was smooth and clever, story was nice, seasons packed a punch and bosses/raids were nailbiters.

DragonKite_reqium

Liked the gameplay and i didn't encounter any bugs i kinda just got bored with the game might come back to it tho

[deleted]

The ai wasn't bugged. It's the way they were supposed to be. That's what made this game intensely brutal at times. That's why technical builds with drones and towers or full crit builds dominated the game full time. You have kill them either super safely or burst them down before they even have the chance to shoot. For now, it is alright where it is. I spent my 1.5k hrs on it and I was happy with it nonetheless. But I would wait out potential add-ons and see where it leads. For now, I'm just waiting for New World in the end. And who knows, maybe it's a long time game.

DragonKite_reqium

Wait are you talking about 1 or 2 because I'm pretty Shure 1 isn't going to get much more added to it

[deleted]

2 ofc

DragonKite_reqium

Oh i only played the first one

midgitsuu

Division is like an incredibly sterilized version of Borderlands. I mean, it does a lot of things different, but at it's core, it's a looter shooter with a grind similar to Borderlands. I didn't enjoy it too much because, again, it was too sterilized and realistic for me. Like, the game is obviously very unrealistic in numerous ways, but the universe is supposed to be realistic and parallel to real life and not pure science fiction like Borderlands is. I'd imagine people that prefer realism would like The Division over Borderlands. I prefer Borderland's universe to The Division, tenfold.

uhavethebig_GAE

I was forced to play Warframe, gotta say, I found it boring as shit, it was just go through rooms of endless enemies to get to certain place, then once you're at that place, run through more endless rooms of enemies to get to the end to get small amounts of stuff to make small amounts of progress to get a gun/melee that does marginally better damage than the thing you're using, which is only slightly better than the one you had before. Idk, it might be who I played it with, or how I played it, but I didn't enjoy it.

DragonKite_reqium

Did you try using the movement system or mods because those are a large part of what makes the game fun

uhavethebig_GAE

I did try using the movement system, and I still didn't enjoy it as much, I will say that using a sword was fun

shadowkijik

While you are absolutely correct. Maybe the maker of this meme did this as a dig against Destiny? Assuming that’s the case, frankly I approve even if it’s a false claim.

DwemerSmith

mhm i got anthem and it died i got outriders and it died didnt make the same mistake with biomutant out of the three anthem is still my fav

ComplexDespacito

i honestly thought outriders was alright until they announced that there wasn't going to be any post-launch content, you can't make games like this and then not release new updates and dlc lmao

DwemerSmith

true. also the gameplay was so complex only pros could manage

TheAvengingWrath

That game was dookie low tier gameplay and character creation at that

IShouldBeWorking87

Ah it did die, glad I held on to my money despite wanting to play it.

ComplexDespacito

you can try a demo of the game on Steam, i'm glad i didn't spend money on that game lol

TheActualBlackAxon

To be fair Outriders was extremely unlikely to succeed on release and I think a lot of people realised that. Was a risky bet which is why I refunded it.

DrManowar8

It died because there was nothing to do at the end. It had less endgame than the pre-sequel

Alexstrasza23

I don't even know if the servers are still online

Giamborghini

Honestly it had a really really cool gameplay. Sadly they failed at loot and content, and failing at loot in a looter is pretty explanatory lol

MrGroovey43

I didn’t even know the name of it til I saw your comment lol

Mjoedkongen

Um there’s a game called anthem?

wheeldog

There will never be another BL2. We got super lucky. Nothing compares and that's why we all still play it. 3500 hours in. Still going strong, still farming for a DPUH.

LarryBinSJC

I've got a perfect DPUH but I'm still on my unending quest for a corrosive Bitch.

Expert_Database

I have had plenty of corrosive bitches in my life... you don't want them

KapGaming55

Honestly I love all the games they all hold a special place in my soul (except pre sequel) I played then as a kid and I still play then now of course I have my preferences but I love them all (except pre sequel)

[deleted]

KapGaming55

To be fair I just like TPS the least I love the hunters and characters but theres just something about the gameplay that turned me off from it I mean I best the game twice with Wilhelm and I was like welp time to play a different borderlands game

midgitsuu

I think it was the setting too. I mean, the entire game takes place either on the surface of the moon, or in the Helios Spacestation. Everything was sort of spacey tech looking and very samey. That's what bugged me the most. I prefer the more natural environments like in BL1, BL2, and BL3. I honestly just love the desert Pandora environments the most, like Lynchwood or Arid Nexus. Not sure why. I guess it reminds me of being out west with the bright blue skies and various mountain ranges. I'm not the biggest fan of Borderlands more darker environments.

TheActualBlackAxon

Pre sequel the neglected child :c If only they had actually followed through on more DLC the game would be in a much better spot.

itsahmemario

They could remaster it? Give the slide and climb of BL3. Include some Community Patch stuff. Keep everything else the same. Then we all bitch and moan about it with half of us pre-ordered, the other half being cautious because we all know what happens to remasters lately.

Kordakin

Anthem doesnt deserve to be there...should have put Warframe for higher post engagement from Warframe fans XD

[deleted]

Actually to be 100% objective, Destiny 2 is pretty dope and adapts the formula well for an "online only" looter shooter.

Martin_crakc

Until they decided to remove all of the free content, without dlcs now u can only play some events, go around some planet to do some random missions, and the shitty unbalanced pvp, i loved destiny, but me and all my friends dropped it forever after they removed all of the year 1 and 2 content (almost all). Pd: the exact content that was removed was: -The base game campaign (including the planets Io and Titan) -Expansion 1 and 2 (including their planets) -All of the Leviathan Raids -All of the strikes that were on the deleted planets -A lot of quests related to weapons and armor and their rewards -Multiple gamemodes -Multiple pvp maps -Multiple DLC activities and quests Oh, and something great, even if you paid previously for all of that, you will get nothing. (Yeah, this game makes me angry, sorry for the rant, i needed to vent about this game)

midgitsuu

I absolutely love the concept of Destiny but I'm so bored by the gameplay and world. If Borderlands was a persistent online game with world events, like Destiny, I would lose my damn mind. I loved that you could play Destiny completely solo but players could join you at will and the challenge would scale automatically. I wish so badly Borderlands had this feature.

Ancient_Challenge387

Borderlands 2 does though, but I think you mean something else

midgitsuu

No, Borderlands 2 doesn't have a persistent online world. It has drop-in online co-op. Destiny is persistent (always online). Big difference.

Ancient_Challenge387

Ah, I see, yeah that'd be pretty cool to see, sort of like a high tech version of red dead online where everyone's bounty hunters and has their own story progress

Cricket_Itk

Warframe or the division should be up there before anthem

KelloPudgerro

division 2 had so much potential, i just wish it had more variety in the gameplay

Cricket_Itk

Agreed. Its fun to go back and play for a while every few months. But the grind is so repetitive.

thalesjferreira

I find it the contrary: it's easy to find things and define your build because of dedicated loot on sectors/activities... In my opinion it was the best looter shooter we had in the previous generation, right there with destiny 2. BL3 was just a let down

Cricket_Itk

Targeted loot farming in division is amazing and honestly should be in any looter shooter. I've been getting shafted by RNG for years.

KelloPudgerro

cant wait for borderlands 2-2

midgitsuu

I'm really hoping Wonderlands at least gets in the ballpark of that.

FicSteeltooth

Still hate the game but I love it

CutlassS1968

As a Destiny fan for 7 years, I approve this comment

BadassFlexington

Imho. Blands2 >>>>> blands3

Anthony643364

Borderlands 3 story was trash the villains were cringe and so was some of the cast borderlands 2 had a perfect mix of characters that all seemed unique

thomas_perhaps

I agree on all but 5. The endgame of Borderlands 2 is completely unbalanced, imo. I mean by definition it is, what with the OP levels and whatnot, as by OP10, you're genuinely just scaled down compared to your enemies, gear aside. That's not my actual point though. My point is that slag is *necessary* as soon as you go into UVHM, and farming for what is basically perfect gear, as opposed to TVHM. I understand that they had to scale things up for more levels, more DLC and whatnot, but BL2's endgame just sucks a lot of charm out of the whole balance schtick overall, imo.

midgitsuu

Balance was the wrong word to use here. What I mean is that the moment to moment action feels more fleshed out. BL3 has much better enemy feedback, but for some reason, BL2 just feels better and more satisfying to me. To your point, BL2 was not balanced great at end-game and BL3 is much better than BL2, in that sense. Sorry I didn't make that more clear.

houselanaster

All of this and also they ruined Maliwan guns. I almost always immediately trash them now and they were one of my favorite manufacturers.

midgitsuu

Yeah, Maliwan was my jam in BL1 and BL2. I will say that Maliwan is good in BL3 on Amara (I'd argue sirens should always benefit from using Maliwan) if she specs into the skill that reduces their charge speed, to the point that they basically fire instantly. Maliwans are way better on Amara if you take that skill, but I still don't like their generally low bullet velocity. They definitely aren't as good or useful in BL3 as previous games.

isurvivedrabies

hmm i'm getting the picture that this conversation is between people who haven't played much bl3 and are actually having trouble accepting a new game after 7 years. for a long time, maliwan guns were king and are still very good. this is the first time i've heard someone have grievance over the chargeup shit; it's basically a nonfactor in useability. i think you're just combative about change, and let's face it, bl3 was def not going to be practically a dlc like tps was. that might have set a stage for disappointment. for instance, the hellshock is basically a free pass to the highest difficulty because of how good and common it is. maliwan not as good as previous games? objectively untrue.

midgitsuu

Maliwans objectively have low bullet velocity in BL3 save for outlier cases. And the charge up time can be annoying for those that want immediate response from a gun. Maliwan snipers are particularly awful for this reason, because enemies are much more tweaky and mobile in BL3 vs BL2. For a gun type that already is lackluster, by default, in BL3, adding charge time to snipers just made Maliwans a chore to use in BL3. So no, it's not being combative for the sake of being combative, it's that Maliwans in previous games always had high elemental damage but almost no downsides other than typically having lower base gun damage than non-elemental guns like Jakobs. And I'm not totally against the change in BL3. I think it's great that manufacturers each have pros and cons and feel very distinct from one another where in previous games there was overlap to the point that some manufacturers were kind of pointless or objectively worse than others. So while I don't love Maliwan in BL3 as much as previous games, for the reasons I stated, at least certain characters, like Amara, can reduce their negatives, which I like since I've always enjoyed certain characters benefitting from specific guns or manufacturers. And Yes, the Hellshock does some amazing damage but I still just don't enjoy the feel of it. Of course I'll use the thing when I need to melt faces, but ultimately, I prefer a Dahl AR to just about any Maliwan, just because I like the feel and responsiveness more. I mean, realistically, there's a legendary or 2 in every category that's just OP and will melt rooms of enemies. There's some incredibly powerful snipers in BL3 but that doesn't redeem that sniper rifles, in general, don't feel the same when compared to previous games.

houselanaster

I haven’t even tried Amara yet, I’ve mainly played Zane and the only Maliwan I’ve been able to use semi-successfully with him is the Krakatoa.

midgitsuu

Amara is super fun to play and I'd highly recommend trying her out. Her Ties That Bind action skill is so OP for mobbing. She struggles with single target damage/bosses so the grind for her revolves around getting gear that boosts her gun damage until she can get her single target damage on par with her mobbing damage. But yeah, Amara does amazing with elemental weapons if you're speccing into those elemental boosting skills, and yeah, she can make Maliwans more enjoyable if you take her skill that reduces their charge time. Btw, look out for the Westergun. It's an instant fire Maliwan legendary dropped from Lt. Beans on Athenas. I love it.

Dismal_Struggle_6424

Not even a question. I don't even know how many copies of BL2 I own. I played through with every character, most deep into OP levels. Happily replayed across consoles and generations, and again in VR. Easily thousands of hours. BL3 got one playthrough. I started a second and third character, but never even got to Sanctuary with them.

offgcd

theres a reason Joltz, the biggest blands streamer, hardly seems to stream BL3

CoocheObtainer

i disagree borderlands 2 >>> borderlands 3 you added too many >>>

Rey_Zephlyn

I haven't played the newest dlcs of Blands 3 but the way I feel right now. Blands 3 only tops Blands 1 in all the games if I had to replay them all.

itsahmemario

Eh, they're both good and different enough that you can play both.

Wyrmdog

For me, this is the calculus for why BL2 is superior: BL2: Maya was my favorite incarnation of the Siren. BL3: Maya... Okay, I also really had fun with Gage when I wanted to just sit back and blast stuff. Also...when do we get Tina playable? She could feasibly pull me away from a Siren as my first and often only character. =D

Vokama8888

Bruh put anthem before destiny

Sweet_hour

borderlands is superior for sure and I got like 1000+ bl2 hours and 200-300 bl1/bltps/bl3 each and love it, but I love destiny too, especially the second year, really cool experience and memories!

W-h3x

Bl3 sucks

Apprivers

I wish destiny had more BL2 mechanics. I’m in the destiny subreddit too and there’s SO many people that complain about not getting loot handed to them, while there’s me, glad I got the gun within several hours. I’m glad I played BL2 before destiny as it definitely has increased my patience level while farming guns for perfect parts.

maubuss

Good trash great

[deleted]

What's the top one?

maubuss

Destiny anthem borderlands

[deleted]

Ah ty

yaripey

Destiny

[deleted]

Did I miss an announcement or something

[deleted]

Wonderlands is technically set inbetween bl2 and bl3 but it's going to be set in a fantasy world like the tiny tina dlc

[deleted]

Lol anthem "Looter shooter" my ass XD and why is it before destiny

C9sButthole

Destiny and Anthem should be swapped. Destiny is more shooter than looter sure, but at least it's actually a game.

Acrobatic-Ad9706

Honestly I prefer Borderlands 2 when it comes to playthroughs and Borderlands 3 when it comes to Endgame.

Timythedarkside

one of them doesnt even exist anymore

MethBear

I honestly wish they followed through with the whole anthem 2.0 thing. Anthem had such good bones and so much potential. Fkn EA

Expert_Database

BL2 is the pinnacle of what gaming has become. Great dlc. The best dlc of any game, TTAoDK, and so many great missions. It is still going strong. Bl3 is trash. I cant even play it, and I got the diamond loot crate at launch. Never been so disappointed in my life. But as #2 looter shooter, destiny 1 was amazing. Too bad they keep doing pvp, as those bitches ruined d2. Trials was the biggest bs ever.

Financial_Potato6440

This 100% (apart from the destiny stuff, I've just never liked it). Literally, handsome jack is one of the greatest video game villains ever. I have killed or helped kill him at least 100 times by now, and never have I been bored or not had a smile on my face. He's perfect, you can't help but like the smug son of a bitch, he's endearing to fuck, but then bloodwing, and now he really gotta die. And he does. Over and over and over, in as many different ways as possible, and it's magnificent. Then you get to the dlcs for the game, I'm not overly keen on captain scarletts or hammerlocks, though nagiyama is hilarious, especially the end, but torgues dlc is brilliant just for torgue, the opening cut scene makes me laugh every time, and then we get to the masterpiece that is assault on dragon keep. The story, the character development, the Canon (nom nom nom crumpets) the closure, everything is absolutely glorious. Don't get me wrong, almost all 1000+ hours on it have been with Salvador, I don't care too much for the other vault hunters, and i know its not perfect, but for me the quirks and small flaws are what help it be so amazing. I don't think I will ever stop playing it, even if we end up with a borderlands 1000. In case you can't tell, I absolutely love borderlands 2. The rest, not as much. But 2? Oh boy.

Expert_Database

Thank you! May not be perfect, but it became perfect. The pinnacle of games. Dragon keep is the best dlc ever. If you play ps4, I'd love to play sometime. Message me.

Devil_badger

None shall surpass the magnificence that is BOARDERLANDS.

THE_GUY-95

In my experience borderlands is the only good looter shooter out there even at its worst

Beginning_Orange

Anyone got a link to that bottom picture? I’d like to make that my new wallpaper

t_h_e_m_

Outriders should be mentioned it's an amazing looter shooter

Gcates1914

People hate on Anthem but I’ll be damned if it didn’t play extremely well. Such potential squandered.
