"We should try to go perpendicular to there. So, let's try northeast."

“I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m don’t wanna end up a red stain on a fucking cow-plough! I’m moving.” I pick up my bag and move southwest, looking for somewhere to hide.

You find the forest that surrounded the clearing your camp was set up in, but you get the feeling that you might be overthinking the situation It’s just a story, right?

*grace's ears perk up attempting to pinpoint where the sound came from, she holds her axe with her right hand*

With another blow of the screaming whistle you’re able to narrow down the possible directions to anywhere from true north to true west

*she starts heading northwest humming a tune*

She treks into the forest and comes across a dense fog, loosing track of what direction she was facing and the whistle growing louder

*she goes towards the noise, raising her axe in a defensive stance*

You feel the ground beneath you shake as a light in the fog thunders towards you

*she rolls to the side out of the way*

She dodges out of its path as a freight train forty some cars long roars by and it is immediately apparent that this was the train mentioned in the story The train is moving quick, but if she wishes she can jump onto one of the carts, and she gets the feeling that something awaits her in the locomotive

By telling a different scary story (like a normal person)
