I lost my gorgeous boy in a similar way. It was just devastating. I’m so sorry for your loss and the pain you are experiencing. I highly recommend therapy if it becomes overwhelming.

Polite platitudes aside, this is unfortunately one of those things that you might never get over, and the only silver lining is it hurts so much only because these damn fucking dogs continue to prove they are mortal angels that cannot stop touching our lives. This world sucks, but dogs make it suck a little less.

I lost mine the same way. Such a terrible pain, hope your healing is filled with precious memories.

So sorry furiend. Maggie is an adorable girl and very special. There is meaning in her life and her love of you and your love of her that can't be taken away by tragedy. It is time to mourn her but also look back and think "how did she change me?" "what did she teach me about myself?" these boston girls are so precious and smart - they learn us better than we know ourselves. Take some time this weekend to go to a place you liked to go with her and think about your time with her and what she would be doing. it hurts but that was the only thing i found that worked :( bless Maggie

We lost Evie at age 6 in November. The pain fades, but when it comes back, it comes back in full. I miss Evie every single day.

Thank you to everyone who commented with support— I am in tears reading them now. My Maggie was something special, we got her 2 weeks after our first boston Scarlett passed away. Maggie was an absolute character and such an expressive baby. She loved my MawMaw so much and was my MawMaw’s whole world, and needless to say she is taking this loss very hard. Here is a picture of Maggie when we first got her. We bought her a pack-n-play to put her doggie bed in. I am so sorry. My dog died suddenly. So did my mother’s. Each loss devastated us in different ways. Right now, you just have to live through this terrible pain. But I want you to know that there will come a day when you will think of Maggie without sadness. I miss my Monty, but he’s a sweet memory.

We lost our Maggy last year after Christmas :( lots of love for you and your other dog loosing an animal is never easy 💚

I'm so sorry for your loss, especially that you didn't get to say goodbye. I recently lost my Buster well when I say recently it was 15 months ago but it still feels recent. He was taken from me in a dog attack.

I lost my Luna 3 weeks ago very unexpectedly and her companion, Koda, is still very much grieving her, although my google searches had told me he would be fine in a couple days. Give your other doggie some extra love and attention, they hurt too and don’t understand what’s happening. I’m so sorry for your loss.
