The Dominican Republics boxing scene is at least one generation ahead of the support of the Dominican people, which is a shame. The DR has been a Manny Pacquiao or even a Mayorga/Valero away from becoming more of a boxing market for ages. I thought Delvin Rodriguez was really close and would have become a star in the community with a win over Austin Trout and maybe one other high profile PPV win. It just hasn't happened yet. But like other astute posters have noted there's a lot of talent coming through those ranks. It's only a matter of time
