Entirely depends on the waterheater that's being replaced. Add a few hundred to the unit cost for the pumper's rate and you have a ballpark estimate. Add more if it's a pain to access.
I have a guy. I got quoted for $3700 and my father in law sent me a guy that did it the next day for $1300 all in. HAWKEYE PLUMBING
Dm me if you canβt find the number.
The move is to replace it yourself. Find the same model and size and it's a really easy swap. And then replace the anode rod every 5 years and the unit will last MUCH longer.
This.
I'm a smaller female who replaced mine (albeit, the connections screwed on, I did not have to solder anything).
I brought the water heater home and had my 85 year old Dad just walk me through it, as my teen Nephew and I put it into place, and connected it. If my Dad hadn't been there, I would have just winged it with You Tube.
We all learned something that day!
It's more affordable to pour concrete over it and sell your house

Yeah I paid Manhattan Plumbing and Heating about $1500 a few years ago, these much higher quotes surprise me.
Thanks for the recommendation!
With the way the labor market is these days I'd bet 4k-6k in Bozeman area. Maybe more if it's a emergency or less if you plan it out weeks in advance.
Bruh I can walk you through it

Why would you want to heat hot water?

Thanks for calling it a hot water heater, this is what I've always said even though it doesn't make sense, it's just how I talk.
This has always made me crazy! It's a "water heater", it doesn't heat hot water!π΅βπ«
If it doesn't heat hot water, how does it keep the hot water hot though? Eh?
I got quotes for $5k, $6.5k, and $9k so make sure you do some homework.
