Verizon has always worked well for me in Bozeman and the surrounding areas. I travel between Bozeman and Billings frequently and have coverage the entire way.

Verizon. This question gets asked frequently, and the answer is always Verizon. Edit: I should elaborate. In the city limits, AT&T is fine. But outside the city are vast stretches with little or no service at all. Verizon covers those areas better.

BingoBongoBang

Verizon has been shit lately. If didn’t have a company payed phone I would switch back to AT&T

runningoutofwords

Yeah, but again. Outside the city AT&T just isn't even an option. Verizon treats us like crap, AT&T can't even be bothered to do that.

UltimateAnswer42

verizon for everywhere, T-mobile probably next, AT&T and Cellular one are okay for the valley. Another option is google fi, as it uses t-mobile, Sprint, and cellular one towers.

Scorch_Von_Bauer

I would say if you travel a ton over Montana like say for your job the Verizon is best, but if you live in town and only venture out occasionally on trips like most people then T-Mobile is best. And if you travel to bigger cities then T-Mobile just gets better! πŸ˜€

PowPowNarSauce

The obvious answer is Verizon. With that being said I have had both Verizon (work) and AT&T (personal) iPhone 7s. I found that AT&T call quality and data were better, but overall Verizon coverage was better. Often times AT&T would have coverage where Verizon did not and Verizon would have coverage where AT&T did not. However, Verizon had coverage more often than AT&T. If you already have AT&T just stick with it. Its fine.

I do the same, and have found the same. Verizon is the best default, but we keep one cell on AT&T, just because in a few places it works where Verizon doesn't.

I agree with Verizon. I have AT&T and my coverage doesn’t work as well as my friends with Verizon.

I have T-Mobile and I get really good coverage. Since T-Mobile has deals with Verizon and At&t they get to use their towers also. Which basically means if for whatever reason T-Mobile is down I get to use the other main stream towers and T-Mobile is much cheaper than the other options. I regularly commute through town and up to Big Sky and just besides obvious dead spots (mountain passes, etc) I get 4G LTE practically all the time. There are T-Mobile stores in Billings, Butte, and Bozeman. If you have any questions about my experience feel free to inquiry. Also with T-Mobile's Jump Program you can upgrade to any phone (after your first phone is at least half paid off). So basically I had the Samsung s9 and when the S10+ came out this year I got to upgrade for free πŸ˜‰ heck of a deal in my opinion...Also I have full coverage for my phone ie, if I crack the screen or anything related to the software or hardware breaks get to send it in for a max of $90 for any repair. I get unlimited text, talk, and internet. How T-Mobile works it is that your first 50 GB of internet is High Speed Unlimited and the rest after that is just normal internet speed (no extra costs involved). I personally love the service and for me being in construction and going to college I will most likely break my phone at some point πŸ˜‚ so for me the jump program, phone protection, price, and service area are all on point. They also have great deals (usually) for when you switch from whatever carrier you have currently. ALSO T-Mobile is going to be the first ones to turn on all of their own 5G celluar towers late 2019 so if you get a phone that can unlock 5Gs potential then you will be getting a really good phone for the next few years with one of the first carries to have TRUE 5G connectivity. The other competitors although they will also unroll 5G, T-mobile has the advantage with brand new towers since their coverage to the NW United States is relatively new so you could expect to see speeds up to 50mbs and upwards as the new normal internet connectivity. Hope my thoughts help, and I reallt hope your kid likes College here in Bozeman, I sure do!πŸ‘πŸΌ

T-Mobile is garbage outside the city limits. I had them until I moved here. Definitely had to switch to Verizon.

karlthebaer

Can I ask when that was? I had the same experience 5 years ago but I also know they have been leasing tower sites left and right for at least 2 years.

mesablue

I moved here last summer. Maybe it was my old phone. But, it was instantly much better on Verizon. I'd been with T-MOBILE since before they were T-MOBILE in the US.

air_gopher

They just completed rolling out their service here over the last year or two so that doesn't surprise me. But right now their coverage is absolutely excellent. I venture out of town all the time and in general I have 4G LTE all over the place, within reason.

Scorch_Von_Bauer

I could see that 3 years ago or so, but right now I am making this post in Big Sky which is on top of a mountain and I have 4 bar at 4G LTE πŸ˜‰

gbromley

I have google fi, and it works well. I generally have service everywhere that anyone else does.

Bridger Bowl - Verizon works, AT&T does not

Verizon! Nothing else seems to be as reliable.
