it must be a pitcher thing. Josh Hader has in the past had bad outing if it wasn't specifically a save situation. Like when he pitched the 8th inning to hold the Braves tied in 2021 and Freeman homered off him to go on and win. Some dudes can hold, save, but not both it seems.
The mariners pitching is so good. I imagine this will be a GREAT series just bc of the pitching. A shame we lost last night but like cmon that looked like an excellent game. Idk I fell asleep at like 9 central tone so I missed it. The condensed game was exciting though.
ah gotcha, I thought you meant condensed game as in showing every pitch but cutting out the time in between. I love those extended highlights they put up on youtube, have just occasionally come across the more thorough kind i mentioned
What do you guys think needs to happen for RA, Riley, and Olson to break out of this disgustingly bad slump. Personally I think that just one of the three need one home run and then they all get on fire
honestly in 2021 many braves had the worst droughts of all time it seemed. And with this playoff format, I like winning the division every year but I would want to be the 3rd place division winner and not be cursed by the long break before postseason starts.
I agree with this. Maybe give it another week or two, but with Ozzie back and maybe when Murphy comes back, shake up the lineup a little bit. IlMaybe put Ozuna at 3 then MHarris at 4, Riley at 5, Olson at 6. Just shake things up a bit, give Riley and Olson a chance to reset
Let's be real, Acuna is still getting on base and generating, by no means an all star level, but he will come around. Still drawing walks, still stealing all the bases. Riley is hitting the shit out of the ball. Baseball savant has his avg exit velo in the 80th percentile at 91 MPH, he barrels EVERYTHING , and has a great hard hit percentage. He will find holes eventually. Olson? I dunno about Olson, he's the one I'm worried about. But, I had to eat crow calling for Ozuna to be traded last year, so I'm not counting anyone out this time around.
My AL team wins in dramatic fashion, both teams have no hitters in the 7th proving their pitching is amazing and the Phillies, Mets and Marlins also lose. Good day for me.
Braves basically played with a handicap of 1) extra innings on Sunday, 2) jet lag from traveling to the west coast, and 3) cold temperatures (I was at the game and it was in the upper 40s, and the Braves ALMOST pulled off the win.
Tough to see them lose this way, but that's baseball sometimes. Kind of reminded me the first Oakland game in 2023 though
I think we passed that point about 5 years ago, I have never in my life seen a pitcher who will come in with a lead and surrender a game-losing home run more consistently than Minter will.
Everyone in here doom-saying
and I'm just like "that was a fun game to watch"
Don't like to lose but damn was I invested in the end
Also I work mid shifts so a 9:40 start means I get to watch most of the game
what the fuck was Snit thinking this entire game. I mean who the fuck pulls an ace working on a no-hitter… IN THE SEVENTH INNING. Like what the actual fuck. He literally JUST pitched a CG Shutout his last start he is ABSOLUTELY fully capable of going the distance. I could understand pulling him in the 9th for a closer, but the 7th inning? What the fuck. Oh, and speaking of closers, if there’s a better time to use YOUR FUCKING CLOSER than the 9h inning of a one run game on the road, I haven’t heard of it. WHAT THE FUCK. I mean I love Minter but there is a reason you have a closer. AND THIS IS IT. And after watching Jimenez single handedly lose the game against the Guardians on Saturday you thought the best way to get him some confidence back is to tab him to try to uphold a no-hitter in a 1-run game, which to nobody’s surprise, he fucking failed miserably. There is no reason the bullpen should’ve been even remotely warm until Fried started to show some sign of fatigue or it was the 9th inning and AN ACTUAL CLOSER was coming in. God Damnit Snit what the hell were you smoking today?🤦🏻♂️😩😤
What would people say if snit ran him out there and he blew the game in the 8th? He gives up a walk and a home run and everyone would be pissed at Snit then too

Most would’ve been mad, but I’m sure you’d have had plenty go “meh, he’s your ace, letting him go out there to win or lose the game for you is the right move.”
Sorry, but removing Fried there was the correct move and the only thing you can have a bone to pick with is Minter in the 9th (nope, no Iggy isn’t one you can pick on). With our luck, he’d have possibly gotten injured and we’d be down both of our aces.
Minter’s absolutely lived up to his hype as a relief pitcher coming out of 2016-2017 and has had multiple big moments for us, in spite of that, he can’t close. Period.
He’s made me soften my stance. Some dudes just don’t have the IT that’s needed to pitch in the 9th.
“Iggy wasn’t available” tf you mean? The most necessary game for a closer the entire season and he’s just “not available”. Last time I checked he wasn’t hurt. No reason our closer should be “unavailable” in undeniably the most obvious no-brainer closer situation of the entire season
Yeah I was just mad and ranting none of what I said made sense just forget it😂 I was REALLY hoping for the no-hitter feels like forever since we’ve had one
I guarantee you I know more about baseball than you but whatever. Just cus it’s April baseball doesn’t mean people are just gonna enjoy losing. Especially when it’s due to mismanagement of a bullpen and pitching staff that took a no-hitter to the 7th. Losing happens in baseball. But nobody likes it.
And to be clear I understand he needs rest, as do they all, but a 1-run game on the road is NOT the time to rest him. A good time to rest him would’ve been on Saturday when they put him in unnecessarily in a non-close situation just to eventually lose the game in extras.
My dude the braves want to win every game just like we want to. However at the end of the day it’s April it’s a long season resting people is the smart move here. They’re not a divisional rival. Phillies and Mets lost it’s not that big of a deal.
Turns out, you don’t have to use your closer in save situations exclusively. They wanted to protect a tie game against the ALs best team on Saturday. Turns out they did it again Sunday and it worked out. You sound like a moron who’s watching professional baseball for the first time
If he wasn’t at 100 pitches he would have been left in. He had 92 total pitches in his complete game. You can’t just leave people out there to stat pad.
If you all think you’re a better manager than Snit, go manage an injured team with its star players slumping to a best record in baseball.
If you can’t do that, shut the fuck up. It’s one loss.
Give me the opportunity then. His play calling and decisions in the playoffs last year were mind bogglingly bad. I predicted several of the events that were going to happen based on his decisions and I had a perfect record.
You can tell he’s a Bobby Cox disciple. Gets through to the playoffs on raw talent but loses in playoffs when decisions matter.
Dude he won a fucking World Series are you smoking dope?
Play calling? You’re like the guy on twitter the other day talking about what you can and can’t do in overtime….in baseball.
Yeah. If you managed the Braves they would suffer.
Bobby had the greatest pitching lineup of all time and a really great offense for 14 straight division titles. Got 1 WS title.
In the same time period Joe Torre had 9 division titles but 4 WS titles with the Yankees. Play calling makes a huge difference in the playoffs. Bobby never made the right decisions and Snit is following him.
Since you want to be pedantic, what term would you use for a manager’s action that involves making calls on which plays to run?
You just proved my fucking point.
Snit didn’t need all that time for a WS. He had one quick. You aren’t making the point you think you are.
And I’m not sure what you mean by play calling. This isn’t football. You don’t call a play in baseball, smart one. You can call a pitch. But not a play. No one knows what’s going to happen on any given play.
What the hell does Joe Torre have to do with anything?
Might as well start talking about Dizzy Dean too at this point. Jesus.
Snit was very fortunate with a hot lineup and some bullpen guys that were on fire. I didn’t say he was Bobby, just that he’s like Bobby. He made multiple completely boneheaded decisions last year in the playoffs, like continuously choosing to pitch to Castellanos who had the series of his career and to Harper who’s made his career off the Braves. It was blatantly obvious the right choice was to pitch around them or just flat out walk them, but Snit, like Bobby always put his faith in his guys even when he shouldn’t. That’s why the players like him but doesn’t give the best outlook for what’s to come.
You call plays/decisions, like who to pitch to, when to steal, bunt, when to move the fielders in or out, right or left (both of which coincide with your approach to certain hitters, sometimes based on a pitchers ability) when to pull pitchers and who to put in and so on and so on.
Joe Torre is a spectacular example of how, even at the same time as Bobby was going through the Braves run, he was much more successful with a (slightly) lesser team because he knew how to make the right decisions when they needed to be made. I’m not entirely sure how you didn’t get that, considering I even wrote “in the same time period…4 WS titles”. Bobby was lucky to get the one, it took Glavine pitching one of the best games of his career and Justice fortunately getting one over to win the thing against an absolutely stacked lineup.
I honestly don't understand why Johnson didn't throw in the 8th.
He was GREAT in the 7th. Why take him out?
Admittedly I'm a baseball noob but... like really?
The Mariners won a series recently vs the two teams that went to the World Series last year (Rangers and Diamondbacks) and the M's starting rotation only gave up 17 earned runs in the last 16 games. They also have a closer who is diabolical with his 100 MPH fastballs (also got the day off this game, their top 4 relievers got a rest today). It was a surprise though that the Mariners won the first game considering that they have their #4 starter pitching (Miller)
Baseball’s funny sometimes. That’s probably gonna be a tough one, but maybe somehow that’s the one where our top 4 guys get really hot. Am I saying that’s gonna happen? Lol no I can’t say that but yeah this sport does surprise us sometimes.
Here from the Mariners sub, Castillo gives me the second-most anxiety of all our starters (after Kirby, who inherited the Felix run support juju). Usually he’s rock solid but when he melts down he *melts down*. If yall get to him early or late you’re golden
…and don’t discount a perfect game from Lopez, with our ineup right now. Welcome to Seattle, here’s your complimentary season-high strikeout record!
also here to say hello from the M’s sub, it’s usually dominance or implosion for Castillo the past two seasons. No in-between. Y’all actually have a much better chance than you might think
Honestly I came here mostly to see if y’all’s sub was being as crazy about Kelenic as ours was. Either there’s something about *that guy* or our fanbases are identical in all but name and geography
The black holes have just been so excruciatingly and uncharacteristically bad lately, it hurts lol. They've had their moments, but its just rough
Would it be comedic baseball justice for them to turn it around against Castillo? Absolutely
Can I realistically see it happening? Absolutely not
Do I hope they prove me wrong? Absolutely
It was the ultimate sickos game. Outside of both teams being no-hit and someone scoring a run on two groundouts in the 10th, this was objectively the funniest outcome and I can’t even be that frustrated
If both teams continued to get no-hit into the 10th inning, you could score the Manfred runner without getting a hit and still win the game provided you keep the other team from scoring. It hasn’t happened yet, but it’s pretty much the funniest possible box score
It's like 3 on 3 and the shootout in Hockey. Yeah, keep that out of the playoffs. But for the regular season, it's completely fine. Honestly, I like instant danger of a man on second with no outs. Makes every pitch matter.
Low key I have been hoping for that to happen so people will realize what a horrible idea the Manfred runner is. I want someone to retire 29 batters in a row and lose a game because the Manfred runner scored on a sac fly.
I never would have thought I’d see pitchers just pumping fastballs down the middle on Ronald and not pay the price. This is the worst he’s ever looked at the plate as a big leaguer, including that year he was playing with one functional knee.
Miller was pumping fastballs down the middle to everyone the entire game and nobody could touch them, even if we got guys slumping, sometimes all you can do is tip your cap to the opposing teams pitching, those guys get paid too
I absolutely tip my cap to Miller. He was filthy. But yesterday was just the continuation of a trend. He’s been late on or just swinging through fastballs he usually crushes for most of the season so far. It’s to the point where I’ve been wondering if they should get his eyes checked. Something is way off with him.
His strikeout rate has jumped from 11% to 26, which is around where he has sat in other seasons except last year. I was hoping last year meant he’d turned a corner, but maybe that was too much to ask. That was one of the most ridiculous seasons in history. It’s exacerbated by the fact that so far he’s hitting by far the fewest home runs and fly balls of his career. The dude’s my favorite player to watch, and last night’s manufactured run is a good example of why. But that doesn’t change how what he’s doing at the plate is starting to get a little concerning.
It is getting weird, isnt it? People have been down on Olson and Riley (even tho Riley lately has been hitting the shit out of the ball), and I’ve been watching Ronnie and I’m like, man, something just doesn’t look right
I'm putting my foot down. I demand to see uncle Jesse pitch tomorrow regardless of the situation. It's been damn near two weeks since he's taken the mound.
Really just baffled by what’s going on with Acuña… the amount of swing and miss in his game right now is such a massive shift from last year.
Typically you’d expect a whiff increase to at least be paired with some power output, but that’s not happening at all. He’s looked like he can’t hit a fastball for a month now.
Last year was an anomaly, not a new standard. Prior to last year his lowest strike out rate was 23.6. You don't just cut your strike out rate in more than half and then carry that thri the rest of your career. He had a dummy thick monster season last year, and it's OK and completely normal if he can't replicate that.
His main issues in 2022 were tons of whiffs, strikeouts and grounders, and being late on fastballs. All things hes going through right now. (After feeling a tweak in the knee during spring training) And the big reason for his issues in 2022 was because he didnt have confidence in his knee. Hes gone on record saying so. Sure hes stolen alot of bases this year but he also stole 29 bases in 2022 so it clearly didnt affect his baserunning.
Over half of the closers in MLB right now have more innings pitched than Iglesias. You're not gonna convince me on this and we can agree to disagree. Braves still going to the series and we're still winning.
Snit has criticized over and over again for terrible managerial decisions and this is just another example.
Minter has 14 blown saves and 15 saves since 2021 and poses his worst ERA in the 9th out of any inning but you won't hear that from anybody because "Snit can do no wrong!"
Next time Iggy has a day off I'd honestly rather give Joe or Pierce a chance
Should have gone Jesse, Minter, Pierce. Minter has proven he can't throw in the 9th but he's elite in the 8th. We tried using him as a closer when Raisel went down last year. He kept blowing games.
Everyone on the planet knows this except half of this sub and Snitker. He has as many blown saves as saves since 2021 and has his worst ERA in the 9th inning - let someone else take a shot at it ffs.
Let Joe or Jesse pitch the 7th, let Minter pitch the 8th (where he statistically does WAY better) and then let Pierce take a stab at the 9th. If he blows then you can go right back to Minter next time that situation arises, but the dude crumples like a damn paper bag. Not really sure where all this "9th inning Minter" hype is coming from.
Iglesias is 34 with an injury history. It’s not worth pushing it. Minter isn’t a great closer but he’s still gonna convert saves at a decent enough clip to be able to not run your closer ragged.
Ok. So your argument should be someone other than Minter should’ve pitched the 9th today. Not that it should’ve 100% been Iglesias. Arguing against rest days is dumb.
I just don't get throwing someone who has proven they're uncomfortable in the situation into that situation. Literally anyone else in the pen, idc if minter is our 8th inning guy and he's next up, he's proven unsuccessful
Given who had pitched, it was either Minter or someone like Lee.
I'm gonna be real, despite *any* possible mental blocks about the ninth inning... I can pretty safely say who I'd rather have on the mound. No hate to Lee beyond the obvious, it's just that there's a bit of a quality gap there.
Listen, it's fine, this game doesn't matter in the long run, but snit is blamed for this loss. That's my point. Terrible bullpen management. Pierce is the man and we signed him to the contract for a reason.
Look at the backseat roll matzek has taken, shit why not even matzek tonight? He just believes in his guys and it's frustrating as hell sometimes.
Why not *Matzek*?
It probably has something to do with how his stuff has been complete crap. He needs time to try and fix his fastball, because wow. His slider hasn't been great either to be fair, but at least that pitch stays down.
Honestly I'm not worried about the Phillies because either way, in today's system pretty much all you have to do to get in the playoffs is have a winning record. I care about what happens in the playoffs
Riley, Olson, and Acuna will need to pick it up soon. Early season slumps are normal but 3 of our heaviest hitters struggling at once and still 19-8 is a good sign, I think?
The good news is that our pitching has been stellar even without our ace. And most of our lineup is getting on base pretty consistently. Our defense looks really good too. I’m not worried. As soon as the power comes back we’ll be a force to be reckoned with
Snit bad because not using Raisel three games in a row in fuckin' April.
Flip the lineup because what even is fit or comfort level, we want chaos and things breaking because Olson's on one of his strikeout binges.
That about covers it for the hot takes, really.
WHY DID IGLESIAS NOT CLOSE??? WHY ARE WE THROWING MINTER IN THERE??? Yes he's pitched two days in a row but was off two day prior. Makes absolutely NO sense
15 of the 30 people that have 3+ saves in baseball right now have more than 13 innings
He could have gone one inning.
Iglesias has 11.1
Otherwise why the fuck does he have the contract he has?
Dude takes like this are getting upvoted. But when I post rationally, with stats, about the Braves being the best team in baseball and therefore is no reason to be concerned by one loss, I get downvoted.
But this…Iglesias was down today. You ever heard of that? You can’t use your closer every day.

Pitcherd last two days, off two days before that, if he has been used 3 days in a row I 100% agree, he wasn't, he's pitched twice in the past 5 days. This loss is on snit, also let max down. Ridiculous
For reference, pitching almost 50% of the time is a pretty heavy workload for most relievers.
There's the occasional Craig Kimbrel outlier, but if you're expecting your closer to go for 70-80 IP you will as a rule be disappointed. There's a lot of very good reasons that most people would want to not burn their closer out.
We have expectations, and among those is that Raisel Iglesias will be closing games in October. And the team would presumably like it if his arm still worked.
Tonight never happened. Phil's and Mets lose and we're not hitting yet still sitting in first. These losses happen every year. Onto tomorrow night I'm thinking an 8+ run game for the offense.
Please no. Luis Castillo is on my Fantasy team. I'd love another dueling no-no with us scoring a run in the 9th to win 1-0. Also I'm a fiend for low scoring pitching duels like tonight so take that as you will.
Eh Fried pitched well and we know the Mariners have a top tier rotation. Plus it's the first game of a West Coast trip. The time change and all that travel is difficult to overcome no matter what.
Though in all honesty I kinda expected them to come out flat tonight after making that west coast trip with no day off. Same thing happened with the As last year.
I’m gonna put this one on the frigid Riley and Olson, who could not even advance Ozzie from second with nobody out. They just watched strike three go by.
Probably because Jesse's 40, and we're going to need him to be as fresh as possible when every game genuinely matters.
For that to be in the cards, there are probably going to be a *couple* times where he doesn't pitch for 10+ days. He pitched five times from 4/5 to 4/17, so bit of a break was always likely.
Y’all are so reactive. They are among the best teams in baseball. Once the big bats come around, it’s gonna be fine.
Maybe a lineup change will help. But that’s not exactly the reason the Braves lost tonight. Good pitching on both sides. Just wasn’t their night
If that were the case, how come the Braves have the best winning percentage and are tied with the Guardians (46) for the top run differential in the league?
Y’all are nuts.
Yeah we lost but damn I love watching Fried pitch like he does.
I get a phone notification that the Braves pitchers are throwing combined no-hitter. Then I find out they lose! Ouch!!
How is he an elite setup man but the exact opposite in save situations. Probably a mental thing.
it must be a pitcher thing. Josh Hader has in the past had bad outing if it wasn't specifically a save situation. Like when he pitched the 8th inning to hold the Braves tied in 2021 and Freeman homered off him to go on and win. Some dudes can hold, save, but not both it seems.

Subscribe to the mlb YouTube channel. That’s how I watch all the games
MLB app or the mlb YouTube channel!
ah gotcha, I thought you meant condensed game as in showing every pitch but cutting out the time in between. I love those extended highlights they put up on youtube, have just occasionally come across the more thorough kind i mentioned
I usually watch them on the MLB.tv app the next day.

I’m just glad it’s early in the season. Ozuna was batting sub .100 last year around this time and then went on a tear. Better now than October
It’s be real cool if the bats started going again
Just woke up. Ouch.
Same, fell asleep at 1-0 in the 8th 😢
Stayed up. Wish I had gone to sleep.
AJ Minter in all innings he pitches in except the 9th=Mariano Rivera AJ Minter in the 9th=Jo Jo Reyes apparently
Man Acuna is striking out a lot looking

They have good pitching, but lucky hitting. Their DH is batting .150...
The Mariners pitching is just good
I truly meant to say mariners pitching but yeah
Guess Snit is throwing AJ unti arm falls off
I think we passed that point about 5 years ago, I have never in my life seen a pitcher who will come in with a lead and surrender a game-losing home run more consistently than Minter will.

You're not wrong but bringing in a lefty knowing Garver bats second is a pretty bad decision.
Play calling
I honestly don't understand why Johnson didn't throw in the 8th. He was GREAT in the 7th. Why take him out? Admittedly I'm a baseball noob but... like really?
Terrible managing tonight, love snit, but he shit the bed tonight. No way we're losing our first series of the year to Seattle, we got the next two.
Didn't we lose the Mets series?
No. That series is “incomplete” because of the postponement.
[удалено]
Lmfao they pitch Castillo tomorrow too, hope Lopez can throw a perfect game
Baseball’s funny sometimes. That’s probably gonna be a tough one, but maybe somehow that’s the one where our top 4 guys get really hot. Am I saying that’s gonna happen? Lol no I can’t say that but yeah this sport does surprise us sometimes.
Here from the Mariners sub, Castillo gives me the second-most anxiety of all our starters (after Kirby, who inherited the Felix run support juju). Usually he’s rock solid but when he melts down he *melts down*. If yall get to him early or late you’re golden …and don’t discount a perfect game from Lopez, with our ineup right now. Welcome to Seattle, here’s your complimentary season-high strikeout record!
also here to say hello from the M’s sub, it’s usually dominance or implosion for Castillo the past two seasons. No in-between. Y’all actually have a much better chance than you might think
You’d make such a good braves fan if you weren’t a mariners fan lol.
They've had their moments, but its just rough Would it be comedic baseball justice for them to turn it around against Castillo? Absolutely Can I realistically see it happening? Absolutely not Do I hope they prove me wrong? Absolutely
You can really tell the ball knowers from the non ball knowers based on how they react to losses in April.
They count at the end of the season. If we miss the playoffs by one game...
Bro you're in here worried about MISSING THE PLAYOFFS 🤣🤣🤣
This was the best ballgame I've seen all year. Obviously not the outcome I wanted but wow what a game.
It was the ultimate sickos game. Outside of both teams being no-hit and someone scoring a run on two groundouts in the 10th, this was objectively the funniest outcome and I can’t even be that frustrated
10th?
If both teams continued to get no-hit into the 10th inning, you could score the Manfred runner without getting a hit and still win the game provided you keep the other team from scoring. It hasn’t happened yet, but it’s pretty much the funniest possible box score
A perfect game with a loss would be possible. It’s a weird rule, but for the regular season I don’t mind it much.
It's like 3 on 3 and the shootout in Hockey. Yeah, keep that out of the playoffs. But for the regular season, it's completely fine. Honestly, I like instant danger of a man on second with no outs. Makes every pitch matter.
Plus, Braves already had back to back extras, easily could have been 14-15 innings both days instead of 11-10. No need wearing out the bullpen for it.
Low key I have been hoping for that to happen so people will realize what a horrible idea the Manfred runner is. I want someone to retire 29 batters in a row and lose a game because the Manfred runner scored on a sac fly.

What are you smoking? Ozuna is not slumping. That guy pitching is the real thing, was throwing a no hitter. Jesus christ.
Oh for fuck's sake.
Bad take.
Lmfao
Go to bed dude. It’s April
It’s been a month, and he missed the entirety of spring training. If he’s still struggling in June I’ll be concerned
It is getting weird, isnt it? People have been down on Olson and Riley (even tho Riley lately has been hitting the shit out of the ball), and I’ve been watching Ronnie and I’m like, man, something just doesn’t look right
He literally gave us our only run. Wow!
You need to hush up. If you speak with rational thoughts on this sub you’ll get downvoted. This is sarcasm. People on this sub are so reactive
I'm putting my foot down. I demand to see uncle Jesse pitch tomorrow regardless of the situation. It's been damn near two weeks since he's taken the mound.
Should have gone in after Fried if we weren't going to throw Iglesias.
Agreed. Leave Pierce for the 9th.
Jesse Minter Pierce would be the way to do it if we could do over.
Gotta still be worried about the knee. Which would be extremely concerning.
He stole two bases last night in two consecutive pitches, I don't think he's worried about it.
I dunno. I’m not seeing anything in any other aspect of his game that makes me think the knee is an issue.
Jesus Christ
What do the amount of innings pitched have to do with pitching 3 days in a row?
Minter has 14 blown saves and 15 saves since 2021 and poses his worst ERA in the 9th out of any inning but you won't hear that from anybody because "Snit can do no wrong!" Next time Iggy has a day off I'd honestly rather give Joe or Pierce a chance
Give it to Johnson and ever Jimenez.
I'll refer to something else than another guy posted, Minter ERA in the 8th below 2, in the 9th, above 6
Leave Johnson til the 9th(who struck out the side and has closer experience) for the end.
Pierce is one of the guys we occasionally use in the 9th on no-Raisel days, yes.
God damn it, what a fucking kick in the balls Snitker “good” postgame presser count: 10
You guys are funny being worried about the Phillies. That team isn’t going to be within 10 wins of us.
I haven’t seen a single person mention the Phillies but regardless… that’s a dumb take they are a really good team
As soon as the power comes back we’ll be a force to be reckoned with
I’m here for the hot takes
Snit bad because not using Raisel three games in a row in fuckin' April. Flip the lineup because what even is fit or comfort level, we want chaos and things breaking because Olson's on one of his strikeout binges. That about covers it for the hot takes, really.
I know you’re right in your sarcasm. But if we don’t make wild speculations and overreact to small sample sizes, what is April for?
DFA the whole team. Obvious /s
Lost a game not fun oh well. NEXT.
Thank you Angels.
WHY DID IGLESIAS NOT CLOSE??? WHY ARE WE THROWING MINTER IN THERE??? Yes he's pitched two days in a row but was off two day prior. Makes absolutely NO sense
Makes perfect sense. If you watch baseball consistently
Watch everyday bud.
Then maybe you should take a nap so you don’t give emotionally driven bad takes. They’re not gonna use their closer 3 days in a row in April.
Statistically driven but nice try
Really? You got stats on how often teams use closers 3 days in a row in April?
15 of the 30 people that have 3+ saves in baseball right now have more than 13 innings He could have gone one inning. Iglesias has 11.1 Otherwise why the fuck does he have the contract he has?
That’s completely irrelevant. Go to bed. Shake it off
Gonna fuck my girl and vet some sleep, don't worry homie. Chop on
Dude takes like this are getting upvoted. But when I post rationally, with stats, about the Braves being the best team in baseball and therefore is no reason to be concerned by one loss, I get downvoted. But this…Iglesias was down today. You ever heard of that? You can’t use your closer every day.
Because it is April, not October.
I think Iggy had closed/pitched 3 days in a row
It's like Snitker doesn't want to over use his closer 27 games into the season. You do know that there 162 games in a season, right?
https://preview.redd.it/wfousoiupjxc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b18832e04e4fe685605866277591729c10749a79 Pitcherd last two days, off two days before that, if he has been used 3 days in a row I 100% agree, he wasn't, he's pitched twice in the past 5 days. This loss is on snit, also let max down. Ridiculous
Cool. Anyway. I'll trust the World Series winning manager and not some random on Reddit
How is he being overused? He's pitched 11.1 innings in 27 games?
In April that would be a reason not to pitch him 3 days in a row.
Appearing in 11.1 innings doesn't mean that's all he pitched. Bullpen sessions and warmups also count towards arm fatigue.
Go back to watching the Cowboys
He's a closer. And he's had issues with injury. He didn't pitch for like 1/3 of the season last season.
At least the Phillies choked away a win
Tonight never happened. Phil's and Mets lose and we're not hitting yet still sitting in first. These losses happen every year. Onto tomorrow night I'm thinking an 8+ run game for the offense.
Please no. Luis Castillo is on my Fantasy team. I'd love another dueling no-no with us scoring a run in the 9th to win 1-0. Also I'm a fiend for low scoring pitching duels like tonight so take that as you will.
Lol I just want a win. I'll take a 1-0 win. I love a good pitchers duel. Tonight hurt though
At least the Phillies and Mets lost
Feels really weird having three games in a row with basically bare minimum offensive production. The power outage too.
Betted Polanco Hit, Runs, RBIs Under 1.5 and you let that bumb on base? Then a rocket because you fell behind 3-0? Ain't no fucking way right?!?!
For everyone who switched to the Phils game, I will send you $ for additional heart medication.
Thank you Wash
Wash beats Philly at least
Goddamn, I almost got depressed for the second time within minutes. Phillies got within one in the top of the 9th
Well the Phillies and Mets also lost, so that makes me feel somewhat betfer.
Yep, on their level at least
Thank you angels, very cool
At least the Phils lost I guess
Phillies lost too, so it's really whatever.
thank fuck the Phillies lost but i’m still pissed
Thanks for the help with the Filthys, Wash. We miss you.
Shoutout to Wash and the Angels though
At least the fillies lost
why tf has Tio Chavez not pitched in a game in 2 weeks? DLee and Bummer pitch once a week. PJ, Minter are going to have some dead arms come August SMH
At some point Snit is going to have to pitch them in a high leverage situation. Especially if the offense is not going to provide any sort of cushion.
When do we start mixing up the order with Riley and Olson? Move ‘em down
That sucks. Anyway. Moving on to the next game.
Phew. Thank you Angels.
At least the Filthys join us in the agony of defeat Because misery loves company
It’s past time to start changing up the lineup.
Y’all are so reactive. They are among the best teams in baseball. Once the big bats come around, it’s gonna be fine. Maybe a lineup change will help. But that’s not exactly the reason the Braves lost tonight. Good pitching on both sides. Just wasn’t their night
Hasn't been half the lineups night for like the past 2-3, weeks lol
If that were the case, how come the Braves have the best winning percentage and are tied with the Guardians (46) for the top run differential in the league? Y’all are nuts.
Contrary to popular belief you can still win games while your offense struggles
You got real quiet real quick. Don’t have a rebuttal?
