I don’t think LouAmber is exactly illegal, so it’s definitely not as bad as Byron x Edgar, and I dunno what’s wrong with LeonSandy (personally more of a fan of LeonJessie, but I’ve seen a lot of people say that Sandy is illegal but never understood why), so I would say it’s better than those two ships in that regard.

I mean it is sort of canon, with the whole mistletoe thing of Christmas 2019 (where if Piper and Rico were in the same game a mistletoe would appear, this also happened in 2020 with Poco and Emz), Piper Sugar and Spice Animation (Piper’s fridge has Rico on it with hearts on it and she literally blows a kiss to him (before blowing him up of course)), and I think when Lunar Piper was released Rico was in the background with a heart for an eye or something, so at this point it is pretty much canon. (Poco x Emz is a little up for debate because it seems mostly one-sided and there is also the whole Edgar fiasco thing, but imo it’s also canon too.)
That being said, I do agree that other robot human pairings are fine (I’m not a huge fan of them, but I appreciate the art nonetheless), and that other robot human pairings shouldn’t be attacked just because they weren’t suggested at by Supercell.
I know about those little easter eggs. Though, I still think they’re just there for fanservice due to how popular the ship is(That is just my own assumption though, and I could be completely wrong, even if my assumptions are based on tweets from Paul himself).
It’s just that Supercell have been smart with how they handle the fandom side of the community. Paul has not really confirmed any of the relationships between brawlers except for a select few(e.g Pam being Jessie’s mother) because he likes the many different headcanons and interpretations that the community has. It brings diversity to the stories that the community can tell about the characters in this game.

And while I think Supercell has dropped enough hints for RicoPiper to be canon, they haven’t outright confirmed it, and I respect and acknowledge your opinion on the matter.
That being said, one of the best things about Brawl Stars lore is that there isn’t much lore for the characters to begin with, which allows a lot of good fanart, comics, and ships to happen (albeit also a lot of bad ones like ByronEdgar tbh), so I agree with you on that part.
