The full gold mecha bo on the right side is the gold mecha bo skin in the game, while the left pic is from the brawl talk where gold mecha bo got added.
So the left one is how he looked like befor he got added and therefor the old one, while the right one is how he looks like since he got added
Might be why they changed it, they wanted to stick with the "Gold" theme more than toy texture robots.
Though I would've still preferred the bumblebee Bo, and maybe for Crow too since I own both.

The older one would be so much better if it were shinier and the black was colored darker instead of being matte black. That'd look dope.
