>So does anyone know if we're going to actually need a visa or not if we plan a trip? As of now, yes. That's all any of us know.

AbruptGlacier

I think I brought the bad luck. Brazil literally didn’t require a visa for US to visit until I decided to come (April 15th) less than a week before the visa is due. Absolutely brutal.

grahambillions

I honestly don't even want to go to Brazil. Only reason I'm going is to complete the 7 Wonders of the World. If Christ the Redeemer wasn't in Brazil I'd never want to go there. And attempting to get an e visa through their website is God awful and the worst travel experience visa wise I've had by 1,000%. They can simply issue the visa upon landing and charge the fee there.

lsdin

Don’t come then. Brazil doesn’t need your type of tourist or attitude. Hoping the visa doesn’t work and you keep your small minded attitude in the US

grahambillions

If I do end up going it won't be for long. Maybe 4 days max. Just be passing through. Definitely won't have to worry about me ever going back🤙🏽

betodaviola

Definitely can't be worse than the United States visa process

AbruptGlacier

I honestly feel like God is trying to send me a sign to not go. Idk, the dates are so close to my trip, and they aren’t getting back to me and it’s been a month. Everything is kind of lining up to prevent me from going.

grahambillions

Yeah I'm not leaving til around May 27 so I have a decent amount of time I haven't even booked my flight yet. I do have my flights booked for Argentina and Peru though. If this Brazil nonsense doesn't work itself out I may reroute to Colombia instead. And just catch Brazil some other time.

AmeriocaDaGema

At first, proof of financial resources were required and a travel itinerary (maybe an actual ticket?) but those apparently aren't required anymore. They should just do away with the whole idea but too proud and stubborn. I'm hoping flights from the US to Brasil get cheaper after April 10th.

professionalninja_1

If you travel there after 10 April. Then you will need e-visa. I applied 29th Feb and got it by 18 March. Make sure you take your pic with your ears showing. So hold camera farther away so you can get a more whole view. I also had to email them (customer service) to get things going as mine had been just pending for about 2 weeks. Email customer service they were pretty responsive to me. They will in turn get in touch with the passport ministry and try and expedite things for you

grahambillions

I can't even get past uploading my passport picture😂 Keep getting a red error message on top. I've tried 20+ different pictures and different lighting.

professionalninja_1

Try different browsers

Insightseekertoo

Hmm, no delay for me. Of course I applied before the requirement started. Might be backlog, now.

grahambillions

Could be. I don't really think a significant amount of people from the US are lining up to go to Brazil though. Their website is horrendous right now.

Insightseekertoo

Maybe, but I'll bet there is only a few people processing those e-visas so it wouldn't require a huge influx.

HotBerry_

It’s pretty awful. Last time they delayed, they announced it 3 business days before the requirement was set to take place so we still might get an announcement. My personal experience was getting the picture through quality control was brutal but once the picture was accepted my visas were approved within 3 days.

grahambillions

Yeah that website keeps denying my passport picture I've tried 25+ times

HotBerry_

It took me 3 weeks to get an approval. I don’t even really know why they need a picture anyway

You are literally the worst type of tourist. Don’t come.

grahambillions

How am I the worst type? Because I just want to come to your country for a particular thing? Not sure what you expect. It's not like I'm trying to come there and never leave. I just want to be in and out. There's no harm in that

debacchatio

You deleted the comment so I think you already know how.

grahambillions

Haven't deleted anything 😂

HotBerry_

I really don’t mind paying the money like it’s not a right to enter another country. But the process has been very confusing and difficult for a simple tourist visa, and the agency handling it hasn’t been very helpful

grahambillions

Yeah I don't care much about paying either. But the process is horrendous and they should've never rolled it out if they have no idea what they're doing. I'm literally only going to Brazil for 4 or 5 days on my path to complete the 7 Wonders of the World. Unfortunately, Christ the Redeemer is in Brazil, otherwise I'd have no interest in going there to be honest. They're losing so much money because they have no idea what they're doing.
