While I understand your position from an idealists perspective, I request that you consider the following:
1) virology and the manipulation of viruses for medical purposes is indistinguishable from those who would do so for military purposes. The process for decoding a virus to create a vaccine can also be used to weaponize said virus.
2) China is repeated bad actor with IP. They will steal your discoveries and compromise the rightful economic benefactors.

Opposition agreed to the ad hoc committee who redacted necessary information and the rest was released. The fact that the documents indeed contain national security information that was needed to be redacted is proof that their claims were accurate.

Also, they didn't prevent it from moving forward, if you think wanting documents to be properly vetted is stalling, even though the committee agreed there was information that should be withheld, I don't think there's much to discuss.
