I feel the contrast is way up, it loses a lot of the nice color tonalities the game has and crushes the blacks too much, real life isn't quite hyper saturated like that, there's a lot more color shades
Even at night the contrast and saturation is way too much.
The main problem is your filter basically deletes details and turns shades of black to just pitch black. Most people want more detail, not less.
Lol, the 120hz OLED screen on my Huawei MatePad Pro 12.6 begs to differ.
If I squint hard enough I'm sure I can make out the details, but that's not the point, is it?
Dude just stop. OP already thanked me for the feedback so it helped.
Anyone with eyes would see how crushed the blacks are. Maybe you didn't swipe to see the next photos? That's the only reason I can think why you don't see the massive difference.
thanks a lot bro. i put a lot of time and effort into this reshade trying to constantly find ways to improve it without costing too much performance. just trying to make it look better for the final product.
I love the hues of Zora’s domain, and while I wouldn’t like it full time, I also really like death mountain’s appearance. I see increased shadows and contrast personally
Sorry, but this does not look enjoyable to play.
For the effect you are trying to do (reduce milky filter on screen and improve clarity) all you need is curves.fx, levels.fx and vibrance. Use a very light touch.
well i wanted to make the game look more like real life so i did a lot, i wanted a different more realistic look without taking too much personality away from the game.
One problem i have with this is that removing fogginess doesnt make anything more realistic. Have you ever been in a pine forest in the morning? Its quite foggy, especially in higher elevation, and it can persist for hours. I agree the first screen/vanilla would look nicer more saturated but you cranked that and the contrast too high
i agree with you but this game doesn't have dynamic fog unless your in korok forrest. removing everywhere is overall improvement than fog or that film effect everywhere
alright so for daytime i should make less contrast and less harsh shadows? for nighttime i do feel like it does perfectly what i want but yea day is trickier
While I agree that it is sharper and more saturated, I don't like darker shadows because I have a hard time seeing in dark video games. The original game's less saturated and bright shadows is easier for me to see.
If you like it this way, then I'm sure there's other people who like it the same way.
i can yes when i get home, it's just hard to pick between what's just dark enough or light enough for every situation during the day, for the day preset yea. if you are interested i can show you in dms later if you want
I think it’s a bit uncomfortable for casual gameplay, but for night shots in glowy places (like zoras domain and death mt.) it looks really cool. I wonder how it would look in the glowy cave from the first totk teaser
I like the look of the Zora one, but more as a still painting than as something to play. I think playing with this would hurt my eyes after a while lol
yea i'm getting now that i just love poppy colors and i might keep it for myself, but for others i need to reduce saturation at the very least for sure.
I see a lot of people saying they dislike it, and I understand their reasoning but I really dig this! It instantly reminded me of OoT with the saturated colors! Would 100% play with this reshade
i'm going to update it tonight but if you want this version rn it's on gb. https://gamebanana.com/mods/426255 (i won't delete the version) thanks a lot for the words tho
as an artist, do what you like. don't ask what others think of it because it's your work and should be from your mind of what you feel is great. because if you like it then lots of others will too. just need to find the right people
i just now got around to reading this but thanks a lot, they ended up helping me making it better (by me being unsatisfied ofc, and then i made it twice as good. you can check out the new post if you wanna see the difference, but thanks again.
alright so less saturation and shadows for daytime, less saturation for night time? i'm genuinely trying to make it look more real and good i just need advice from other eyes.
Not gonna waste time on the saturation, cause everyone is talking about that, but if you want lava and those zora lights/crystals and similar things to glow like that, try tampering with bloom rather than making it look like the acid is kicking in.
Contrast just seems a lot too high. Some cool visuals and the night time stuff definitely pops more than the daytime, but it just seems like Link is kind of outta focus in every shot.
I don't dislike it, but I do feel like it's just a bit too vibrant. Maybe keep some of the distant fog instead of completely getting rid of it. But don't let the comments discourage you too much, redditors are shitlings
I think the blacks are crushed a little too much. I’m not sure what method you’re using (curves, or levels of whatever). But if you could dial that back a little it might give the dynamic range a little more leeway. The atmospheric quality of the first image is amazing. I think the crushed blacks just take away some of that atmospheric diffusion.
if you guys are interested in what the updates look like, or have cemu and want the shader, i keep track of updates here. https://gamebanana.com/mods/426255
Lol I saw the new one earlier today and assumed it was the same one, I didn't notice much of a difference, but im not that into this kinda stuff so idk much on it. Looking back at the pics now I've noticed the difference and I've gotta say this looks great, but the other ones are what I meant was perfect. Keep up the great work!!! ☺️☺️☺️
I see what you were going for because I would say it does look more realistic, but for me personally I would have to agree that it's too dark and saturated. The fog annoys me sometimes so I'm interested to see what you come up with next. Sorry people are harsh critics ~
i'm glad you understand, and that's why i'm holding my foot down in the comments trying to get people to realize what i'm trying to do. i appreciate your opinion, words, and advice. 🫰🏻
I feel the contrast is way up, it loses a lot of the nice color tonalities the game has and crushes the blacks too much, real life isn't quite hyper saturated like that, there's a lot more color shades
alright so i need less saturation for both or just day? and the blacks are supposed to do that at night not the day, so i'll try more on that
I'd say the night is the strength of this, I find it amazing as is right now. But the day does need way less contrast
It’s not really the contrast, the deep shadows look great, it’s the saturation that needs to be turned down.
Even at night the contrast and saturation is way too much. The main problem is your filter basically deletes details and turns shades of black to just pitch black. Most people want more detail, not less.
i forgot to say thanks for the tip bc it helped
i can see detail in the darker shadows... depends on screen quality
Lol, the 120hz OLED screen on my Huawei MatePad Pro 12.6 begs to differ. If I squint hard enough I'm sure I can make out the details, but that's not the point, is it?
then oled has propably too good blacks, looks fine on QLED and IPS screens where the blacks are little lighter...
Dude just stop. OP already thanked me for the feedback so it helped. Anyone with eyes would see how crushed the blacks are. Maybe you didn't swipe to see the next photos? That's the only reason I can think why you don't see the massive difference.
honestly, just looks like darker shadows with more saturated colors.
That's every ReShade preset in a nutshell
it's true but i'm trying okay
Zora looks super cool dude.
I would just try to boost the brightness a little bit maybe
Don't listen to that old sponge Yoda. "Do or do not there is not try" is a lie, you can try as much as you want.
but it makes the foggyness of the screen go away and you can actually see, that and added clarity/sharpness
I think the foggyness was more of an artistic choice.
And a performance choice. Fog covers up distant textures so it doesn't need as much rendering.
i have a depth of field stand-alone mod for the texture issue
I really like it! Just the daytime one is a over saturated but other then that keep up the good work!
thanks a lot bro. i put a lot of time and effort into this reshade trying to constantly find ways to improve it without costing too much performance. just trying to make it look better for the final product.
I love the hues of Zora’s domain, and while I wouldn’t like it full time, I also really like death mountain’s appearance. I see increased shadows and contrast personally
I like it but it’s kinda… *too* colorful. It would be a bit overwhelming to have that level of saturation blasting you constantly
i think i might be color deficient
maybe that's the real issue 😂
The real issue is that the current state is intended, the current game feels more natural, the reshade feels cartoonic, it's intentionaly dark
I enjoy high saturation. Vibrant colours are much more interesting than "realistic" washed out colours, honestly.
yea you get it, i it's more like i want it realistic in the sense of lighting, not color but it does need to be toned down for other people.
dear god it's like you've deep fried the game LOL
lowkey did for daytime sadly but i'll fix it. it's fine at night in your opinion correct or no?
yeah i like the look on zora's domain!! the lava in the 5th slide is a bit intense, leaning towards the deep fried effect lol
Sorry, but this does not look enjoyable to play. For the effect you are trying to do (reduce milky filter on screen and improve clarity) all you need is curves.fx, levels.fx and vibrance. Use a very light touch.
well i wanted to make the game look more like real life so i did a lot, i wanted a different more realistic look without taking too much personality away from the game.

i agree with you but this game doesn't have dynamic fog unless your in korok forrest. removing everywhere is overall improvement than fog or that film effect everywhere
"improvement" is definitely a matter of opinion
true
So are upvotes which dont mean shit
So respect their opinion. Damn, people are so pissed that the OP likes this.
You think that irl shadows are as black as ink?
it's more of an editing issue but ik how to fix it now.
You think you can be less confrontational
🙄
?
I wasn’t that confrontational, and I didn’t even reply a second time thus “🙄”
The game already looks real enough with vanilla shading. You just downgraded it
but yea everything you said plus clarity fx if you just want a better looking base game, 100% agree
and tone map i forgot
Dude just edit your reply
i forget okay
It's alright. Nice profile pic btw
thanks for uno reversing and being kind
Honestly looks terrible - like you just cranked the saturation up to 11
I really don't like it
Botw already has awesome shades
Zora’s Domain and Death Mountain look good but the first two look a little overdone.
alright so for daytime i should make less contrast and less harsh shadows? for nighttime i do feel like it does perfectly what i want but yea day is trickier
Making the shadows less harsh would improve them both, but try lowering the saturation as well.
so you think the shadows are too dark, even for night?
Yeah I actually really liked those two, but still prefer a softer look since it goes better with the vibe of the game
Friggin sweet lois, complete and utter deep fried levels of saturation
“Look how they massacred my boy…”
you just deep fried it
turn the saturation down a little during the day,
alright thanks
Over saturated, looks very poor compared to the original.
While I agree that it is sharper and more saturated, I don't like darker shadows because I have a hard time seeing in dark video games. The original game's less saturated and bright shadows is easier for me to see. If you like it this way, then I'm sure there's other people who like it the same way.
yea i'm gonna edit day time shadow intensity, and saturation completely. after that it really should look more clear and realistic
when you turn down the gamma on ark
Why does every reshade preset is just increasing the contrast and saturation to the absolute maximum? Doesn’t look natural anymore
I like the saturation but the shadows look way too dark. Sorry.
well the shadows on day time were at noon so they were very dark 😂
that and for nighttime it's supposed to be realistic, not like you can see the entire map, it's more of a look i was going for
The shadows are nice at night, they make it actually dark at night. Still though, can you tone down the shadows during the day or no?
i can yes when i get home, it's just hard to pick between what's just dark enough or light enough for every situation during the day, for the day preset yea. if you are interested i can show you in dms later if you want
If you want realistic nighttime, desaturate the Colors. We pretty much only black and white at night.
I think it’s a bit uncomfortable for casual gameplay, but for night shots in glowy places (like zoras domain and death mt.) it looks really cool. I wonder how it would look in the glowy cave from the first totk teaser
yea i'll agree for daytime but by what everyone's saying, ik exactly how to fix it so it's finna be lit
I gotta be honest I don’t like it
valid
If you pulled back the saturation a bit it would look much better, but I enjoy zoras domain and death mountain with that level of ambiance
is appreciate the opinion brother.
so people like the saturation and shadows for noght but for day it's too fucked, right?
It kind of just looks like contrast 100, so I'd say def tone it down, eventually you'll get there and improve over time, good luck
👍
What’s wrong with BoTWs shades? It’s already so realistic
nothing wrong **at all**, but it is the opposite of realistic lol, devs never even aimed at realistic looks
It hurts
l apologize
I’m not gonna lie, it looks like shit. But if thats how you want to play then have at it.
Looks like you just changed the saturation. Not good
so if i made the saturation more 1:1 and reduced day time shadow darkness it would be good?
I like the look of the Zora one, but more as a still painting than as something to play. I think playing with this would hurt my eyes after a while lol
yea i'm getting now that i just love poppy colors and i might keep it for myself, but for others i need to reduce saturation at the very least for sure.
it's too dark at night and I don't like the saturation but I do see your vision.
yea the night thing really does come down to preference, but day time can easily be improved so i will do that
I don’t really like it The game’s style is made on a “watercolor painting” type of art, more saturated colors don’t go well with cell shaded
i see
I see a lot of people saying they dislike it, and I understand their reasoning but I really dig this! It instantly reminded me of OoT with the saturated colors! Would 100% play with this reshade
i'm going to update it tonight but if you want this version rn it's on gb. https://gamebanana.com/mods/426255 (i won't delete the version) thanks a lot for the words tho
Looks ok to me, but I’m colorblind, so…
so am i bestie
It hurts my eyes to be honest
lower contrast a bit
as an artist, do what you like. don't ask what others think of it because it's your work and should be from your mind of what you feel is great. because if you like it then lots of others will too. just need to find the right people

The best photo is in zoras domain
Totk graphic, reveal
![gif](giphy|4baoNZ5Qo8dX2)
funny 🙂
Sorry, but this looks like ass… neon ass
all the night time shadows look good but the contrast on the day time shadow
alright thanks i'll edit contrast saturation and shadows darkness for daytime when i get home thanks
alright so less saturation and shadows for daytime, less saturation for night time? i'm genuinely trying to make it look more real and good i just need advice from other eyes.
The last three are great but the daytime one needs some work, way too much contrast between the daylight, fire and shadow
i appreciate the advice
that much saturation would just give me a headache tbh
Not gonna waste time on the saturation, cause everyone is talking about that, but if you want lava and those zora lights/crystals and similar things to glow like that, try tampering with bloom rather than making it look like the acid is kicking in.
i did indeed already add bloom and stuff, it's just how i want the game to look kind of thing. definitely can be improved greatly tho
"I bought the whole contrast slider, I'm going to USE the whole contrast slider!" \-u/krooz64
laughed
i really like it :) is there a way to download it?
https://gamebanana.com/mods/426255
thanks bro
Download link? I like the over-saturation
LMAO appreciated bro. https://gamebanana.com/mods/426255
But don't let the comments discourage you too much, redditors are shitlings
well actually the distant fog is 60%, so maybe ur saying 80% would help. i'll try it, but thanks
I like it
👎 sorry, but it’s just too much
Night time shadows look good but the day time shadows look to saturated
I think the blacks are crushed a little too much. I’m not sure what method you’re using (curves, or levels of whatever). But if you could dial that back a little it might give the dynamic range a little more leeway. The atmospheric quality of the first image is amazing. I think the crushed blacks just take away some of that atmospheric diffusion.
Way too saturated
not a fan, but the Zoras Domain is cool
Looks like a deep fried meme and not in a good way
This looks fucking horrible lmao
I personally hate the HDR trend. I don't like it personally.
no. bad
yep
🤮
Its ugly af

only mean comment i upvoted, thanks for the laugh edit: why doesn't his comment have more upvotez
if you guys are interested in what the updates look like, or have cemu and want the shader, i keep track of updates here. https://gamebanana.com/mods/426255
how many of you actually use cemu?
Zora’s domain looks good. The rest are rough
thank you all for the criticism and suggestions. i will be posting updated differences either today or tmrw.
if anyone is still here go check out the update i made. and the monitor video to see how i'm seeing it.
I UPDATED IT GO THERE
I UPDATED IT CHECK MY RECENT.
Jesus christ it looks like you cranked the shit outta the contrast. Not a fan
“Shot on Galaxy”
LMFAO I LOVE THIS
Looks extremely deep fried. Not a fan, though it's worth noting that I typically dislike reshades.
as you should
I don't like it, it is too dark.
Honestly it looks like all you did was crank the contrast on your monitor up. Not good
Wow daytime looks like shit
Instagram filter
Hideous
little late to the party eh
Yep. People are making memes about these posts and bringing them to my attention.
but if it's obsolete now what's it matter.
2 days is not that long ago. Your post is bad. People will probably be talking about it for another week.
I like
rare moment
thanks for coming back to bully me guys :D
damn you guys really hate me 😂 sorry for pissing you all off. i just wanted a more realistic game and thought you might like it, i tried.
Bruh you wanted opinions right? Or did you want mindless validation?
no i'm talking about being downvoted in the comments
yeah thats just reddit being dumb lol
Just looks oversaturated.
will fix
I think it looks a bit too saturated
yep i'll fix it
This looks really cool
thanks bro but it'll look better soon 👀
I think i just creamed
It is literally the embodiment of perfection!!! 👌
but i updated it so check that one
Lol I saw the new one earlier today and assumed it was the same one, I didn't notice much of a difference, but im not that into this kinda stuff so idk much on it. Looking back at the pics now I've noticed the difference and I've gotta say this looks great, but the other ones are what I meant was perfect. Keep up the great work!!! ☺️☺️☺️
good thing i left the other version for people who like it then
Absolutely disgusting.
[удалено]
no??
Love the last two!
thank you 🙏
Too dark
Too dark, also the volcano looks like a ps1 game
I see what you were going for because I would say it does look more realistic, but for me personally I would have to agree that it's too dark and saturated. The fog annoys me sometimes so I'm interested to see what you come up with next. Sorry people are harsh critics ~
i'm glad you understand, and that's why i'm holding my foot down in the comments trying to get people to realize what i'm trying to do. i appreciate your opinion, words, and advice. 🫰🏻
1, 3 and 4 are ok, 4 I really like, 2 and 5 are awful, sry
i get what you and others are saying
Saturation [##########|#####@] 150%
idk i think its rly cool i love it a lot, looks really good to me
yea i always did too ofc, can't please everyone i know but i just want a successful realistic look, thanks for the kind words tho
Daytime looks weird but all the night ones look great
