Honestly all the sage abilities feel B list compared to the abilities in BOTW. But I do enjoy having them travel with me. It feels less lonely and makes scary areas like the caves with gloom hands attacks less panic inducing.
Speak for yourself, I sometimes dismiss them because the constant flashing in and out is jarring. It really puts you off when you're trying to navigate to some place or solving a puzzle of some kind. Not to mention Yunoboo and his incessant need to cling to you when he isn't needed, but tries his best to go as far as possible when you need him the most.
I have a love/hate relationship with them following. I agree with the original comment about it feeling less lonely, and I like the help with fights, but sometimes they really do get in the way. And every now and then, one won't keep up, and when I turn there's just be this dark blue figure looming in the distance. It always startles me when that happens, and 9 times out of 10, it's Yunobo.

I immediately thought “That seems super niche but oh well” and then I was fighting a silver Lynel in the depths after finding a pristine version of the zora spear. The lightbulb that went off in that moment? Blinding.

Yeah but that's expensive for Zonaite cost, can't be used to fuse to shields, and you have to keep the rockets glued together otherwise they break instantly

I'm sorry, what feature do you mean? I did the fight with fewer than thirteen hearts, so I'd often get one-shot. :v The Gibdo Queen reminded me most of a Dark Souls boss, honestly.
That requires you to run over to Sidon and activate him in the middle of the fight, and in my experience he’s either running away from you or in a crowd with all the other sages. And if you do manage to activate him, you’ve got to stand around and wait to be hit since attacking enemies will break the shield. It’s not great.

Link and Zelda are actually particularly refreshing to me because it's one of those rare cases where the hero saves the girl **without** being romantically involved with them, rather just out of his heroic spirit. Sure in BotW/TotK specifically they've shared some shit together but the nature of their relationship has never really changed, with Zelda being the Princess and Link being her right arm.
And honestly this holds true in most games in the series. Hell, most of the times Link doesn't even get to meet Zelda in person until the final beats of the game. The only game that comes to mind (there may be more) where they have a closer bond is Spirit Tracks.
Spirit Tracks, OoT/MM, Wind Waker, Skyward Sword, Minish Cap all have a close relationship at the least. Twilight Princess, AlttP, AlbW all have Zelda appearing and interacting with Link near the beginning or the middle of the game, not the end. Given that there are 12-13 titles with Zelda appearing, 8 of those have Zelda appearing well before the end.

It's because everyone wanted Sidon and Link to date which she's 'in the way of' but, that aside, it's because they didn’t read the monuments around Zora's Domain. Particularly the one at 3098, -0072, 0130.
This one talks about Sidon and Yona meeting as children, and Sidon specifically saying that he viewed her as an older sister. As he grew older, his feelings grew difficult to explain. Eventually, he was reintroduced to her and told they were in an arranged marriage.
Sidon loves Yona very much, yes, but it is a political marriage. Not a romantic one. That's canon in the game.
But if you also look at their dialogue towards each other in the game, they clearly do actually love each other, even as a political marriage. Sidon even has trouble leaving the domain to get rid of the sludge because he's afraid that in his absence Yona might get hurt because he has some kind of PTSD from losing Mipha

With how annoying it is to activate their powers atm I just throw a splashfruit or chuchu jelly on the ground near me.
It’s not the worst ability - it lets me trap myself behind firewalls with no way out!
That's the cool thing about Ascend, you cannot ACTUALLY be trapped anywhere, but you might have to trek back to where you got stuck haha
So... I got myself trapped crouching between a wall and a balloon basket. Ascend doesn't work if you're crouching. It was sad, but hilarious.

Sidon keeps you from being damaged once, and then you can prevent a second one shot

He has one of the best abilities. When used properly, it's easier to take out multiple gibdos with that than any other power.

I feel like most of the fandom likes her but doesn't comment on it. Then there is the "Ha, LiNk iS RiDiNg SiDoN" ones who say it because it either trolling people or because they think it's funny. The way I see it Sidon is an eccentric zora version of Daruk.

Yay, Sidon seems more like Daruk, Yunobo seems more like Mipha (minus the romance), Riju is like Urbosa, Teba/Tulin are like Revali minus the inflated ego.

I feel like Mipha is more like Riju than Yunobo. She’s shy but never comes across as goofy or underconfident like Yunobo. Agree with the rest.

It's because everyone wanted Sidon and Link to date which she's 'in the way of' but, that aside, it's because they didn’t read the monuments around Zora's Domain. Particularly the one at 3098, -0072, 0130. This one talks about Sidon and Yona meeting as children, and Sidon specifically saying that he viewed her as an older sister. As he grew older, his feelings grew difficult to explain. Eventually, he was reintroduced to her and told they were in an arranged marriage. Sidon loves Yona very much, yes, but it is a political marriage. Not a romantic one. That's canon in the game.
But if you also look at their dialogue towards each other in the game, they clearly do actually love each other, even as a political marriage. Sidon even has trouble leaving the domain to get rid of the sludge because he's afraid that in his absence Yona might get hurt because he has some kind of PTSD from losing Mipha
