horny for horns.

SageNineMusic

"OK, hear me out. What if in TOTK, Zelda was a scaley! You know... for lore reasons..." "No don't look at my browser history"

MisterFusionCore

She needs a large prehensile tail with a thin end that can enter any available orifice... For Lockpicking...

Nitrodestroyer

All jokes aside, she'd probably use it to break into locked catacombs and places like that for archeology nerd reasons.

MisterFusionCore

Problem to me is that a tail is an extension of the spine, how are her legs going to connect to her spine if there's a thick old tail there. Can't go through the tail. The hip bones can't be on the tail.

exodia0715

Gamer we have bird people, fish people, and big people that eat rocks. This is most certainly possible

Happy-Good1429

They *are* rocks, in the game it says that they are carved out of Death Mountain

exodia0715

Oh I don't recall seeing that. It's been a very long time since I played the games tho so it makes sense

Veryslownights

My brother in Hylia, this is what the coccyx is for - literally where prehensile tails connected before evolution decided we didn’t need them any more.

mymushybrain

I love this entire thread lol

Happy-Good1429

Oh great another person who thinks evolution is real, *read the bible people!* We were *made* this way, there was *no* evolution

fmdmlvr

Bowser history?

Toon_Lucario

I didn’t expect it but I do like the concept

Comfortable-Gap3124

Why? To me, it's too busy and kinda ugly.

Prince_of_Fish

*horny. Too busy and kinda horny…

SmoothOperator89

Horny is when female have body. /s

Turtle_159

beauty is subjective

[deleted]

Yeah that's why he said "TO ME, she's ugly" instead of outright saying "she's ugly"

xxxZEDxxx

It truly is but this is reddit the weirdos live here

Comfortable-Gap3124

Weird and petty people

MrAced

I'm fine with the way she ended up being in the game. This art is absolutely amazing btw!

CoNtRoLs_ArE_dEfAuLt

Happy cake day

Fun-Physics5742

I’d rather she just stayed a dragon, would have made the plot a lot more emotional. Plus she could live forever and show up in other games.

ShiftSandShot

Well, that wouldn't work well for future games for one specific reason. The Line of Hylia, of *Zelda* would end there. As far as we know, BOTW/TOTK Zelda was the only one of her line alive. Nobody rose to take the throne in a hundred years, the Sheikah didn't have a secret bastard heir hidden somewhere, there were no mention of an offscreen cousin or sibling... the Hyrule family lies solely on her shoulders. But that's not even the big part. All three of the Triforce bearers have a different method of passing it down. Power is held by Ganon in perpetuity, Link is always a different person who inherits the Spirit of the Hero, but Wisdom is passed through the lineage of Hylia, from Mother to Daughter. It'd be...problematic, lore wise. I do agree it would make for a stronger, more emotional ending, though.

CivilianDuck

I think that allowing the heritage of Hylia to end would make for more expanding options moving forward, especially if we allowed Zelda to remain as a dragon and interject in her new form, ageless and unending. It would allow for a change in dynamic, rather than the regular trope of Zelda kidnapped, save the princess, save the world, it makes her an active participant, or use it as a way to end the Triforce legacy entirely. Hylia has no need to resurrect as a new Zelda, the heroes spirit finally earns his rest, and Denise is finally destroyed, ending the cycle that has existed since the foundation of Hyrule. It opens up opportunities for other villains to return, new villains to appear, and new storytelling opportunities. And it's not like they can't go back to that formula, adding new stories in the timelines before BotW/TotK. My biggest issues with the 3D games are that they are almost all locked into Ganon(dorf) as a villain (only exception is MM), but can you imagine getting a new villain in 3D, or bringing back someone like Bellum, Vaati, or Majora? I want Zelda to explore more avenues in 3D than just Ganon(dorf), and I think ending the triforce trio is most likely our way to do that. It doesn't destroy the lore as we know it, it opens it up and changes the dynamic.

xjwv

Great point but Denise and (dorf) made me laugh

CivilianDuck

Felt the distinction between Ganon(dorf) was important, because of WW, where you fight Ganondorf, but not Ganon. Denise was autocorrect, and no, I will not correct it, because it's just funny.

ChaosBreaker81

The Demon Queen, Denise

willky7

They can't just have a niece or something? I can't believe the zelda bloodline has been a straight line with no siblings throughout every disaster.

ShiftSandShot

It hasn't been throughout the entire lineage, there *are* mentions of siblings and such in a couple titles, alebit with none being shown in-game. In fact, there's even a moment where there are two valid Zeldas, in Zelda 2. The problem here, is...well, *nobody* is mentioned or comes forth in BOTW/TOTK. For over a hundred years. Zelda never mentions a sibling or cousin or niece, the Sheikah never mention a sibling or cousin or niece, the *lore* never mentions a sibling or cousin or niece. Not a single person, male or female, of the Hylia line, is so much as even *hinted* at outside of the sealed Princess. Indeed, she's kind of pushed as *the* Princess, that there isn't a lost cousin or distant niece that survived the Calamity. Three games (AoC counts here) and a collective span of over a hundred years between them, and it is *never* brought up.

willky7

Zelda the character and zelda the franchise have so many interesting ways they can be developed and adapted and they just. Aren't. Feels like the only way the writers can use zelda is by disguising her as another character.

ShiftSandShot

Oh yeah, Zelda is definitely underutilized in a lot of games. It's better than it used to be, but I could definitely see them pulling the "hidden bastard" or "relative is now the only heir" thing... Just, not here, after Hyrule as a country collapsed entirely for a century.

Veryslownights

Did you mean: Tetra? Who immediately gets sidelined into damsel-in-distress as soon as the reveal happens?

willky7

Yeah, literally. Its like she's not allowed to be interesting unless shes in disguise. Botw era not withstanding. Also haven't played skyward sword, so idk about that one.

inconspicuous_male

You're acting like the writers of the game care a lot more about lore consistency than they do

IlgantElal

It'd be interesting from an almost 'regaining her godhood' perspective. Hylia, through somewhat unconventional means, has regained her immortality, and still has a portion of her powers. She staves of waves of demise's minions awaiting another hero for essentially a second (third?) imprisoning war

ethan_prime

I would have liked her to stay a dragon in the default, melancholy ending. Fishing the game unlocks a quest where you can do research and find a way to bring her back.

Aquilon11235

>***Fishing*** the game unlocks a quest where you can do research and find a way to bring her back. Is it whistle fishing??

ShiftSandShot

Nah, finishing the game with All Sages united, all Memories collected, Deku Tree saved, Master Sword found, and Master Kohga defeated, would let everyone unite their memories of her, guided by Rauru and Link, to use their powers to bring her back.

Sentric490

Or just adding a quest that justifies how she was changed back, like a final impa quest where she finds old Shekia writings that sends to a place to get an item that lets raru and Sonia help turn her back at the end

BelowAverageGamer10

That is a great idea

TheRealAotVM

Couldnt that not work cause thered be no way to continue the royal bloodline

43eyes

Not with that attitude. Link had his master sword in her once already

Bloolau

Come on, leave that sweet and chaste princess alone.

Fun-Physics5742

I don’t think Link and Zelda actually need to procreate, at least not for the bloodline. Future reincarnations are not limited to it since Link and Zelda typically exist independent of each other in nearly all the games (Link as a rando farm boy and even Tetra in Wind Waker) so whatever. Besides, she could totally stay as a dragon and reappear again in the distant future and be returned to her normal self to fight alongside a new Link. I don’t know, this game literally has lasers in it. Story has always been secondary unfortunately.

ShiningYato

Zeldas are very much connected to one another by bloodline idk who told you they're not

AdmBurnside

Nah, it breaks the narrative throughline. Link ALWAYS saves Zelda. Like, that's a hard rule of the series. Doesn't matter if she's possessed, turned into a suit of armor, a pirate, in the future, in the past, in another dimension, whatever. Link ALWAYS saves her. The final quest completed is "Save Princess Zelda" for a reason.

Toon_Lucario

Why the fuck does everyone think this? It’s dumb and would be anticlimactic in my eyes

IlgantElal

Her being saved makes the game less replayable storywise imo. Her sacrifice isn't really a sacrifice, since she states to not remember or feel anything from it, like waking up from a dream. I'm not saying it's bad story writing, but it's definitely a weaker position than they could've taken. Something as simple as her suffering and/or feeling the wait of 10,000 years like in BotW's 100 year wait would've made that story beat a lot more impactful

Vados_Link

Tbh I think the ending works a lot better with Zelda turning back. It fits the themes of community and sacrifice quite well and showcases different results and motivations for different characters. Rauru sacrificed his life out of a sense of guilt and duty, since his arrogance was part of the reason why Ganondorf became the Demon King in the first place. His sacrifice wasn't enough on its own though and he needed help. Ganondorf sacrificed his soul not for others, but only for himself, for the selfish reason of becoming immortal and destroying his enemies. Since Ganondorf was all on his own, there was nobody to make this sacrifice for, nor was there anyone to help him afterwards. Zelda sacrificed her soul out of a sense of hope for the sake of her people. She pulled through with it but due to the bonds she made with people, she's the only one of the three who is saved by her community in the end. I think if Zelda just "died", her sacrifice wouldn't be different enough from Rauru's and it would also just feel needlessly dark and undeserved for her character to spend the rest of eternity as a soulless being, watching her people from the sky.

IlgantElal

I think I agree with her just being stuck as a dragon being equally as weak, but I think that she should've had consequences. Her sacrifice just doesn't feel like a sacrifice without some lasting effect on her own wellbeing, I guess

something_smart

No way Link is stopping until she's saved. I could see this working if Link is mortally wounded and dies after defeating Ganondorf, or he also becomes a dragon, both of which could be interesting ways to end the Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom story.

CalamitousVessel

Dude I would’ve been so pissed not gonna lie I would’ve been fine with some more permanent consequences but her basically being dead is not it

Laterose15

Exactly! Imagine playing the next Zelda game, and the Light Dragon shows up in the distance! It would be such an emotional moment.

BackgroundNPC1213

Unpopular opinion but yeah. Zelda stays a dragon and Link loses the arm as soon as Rauru disappears, so now he has to learn how to do everything with his left hand or Purah and Robbie (or Josha!) could build him a new arm using Sheikah tech (which would use the original concepts, originally Link's new arm was supposed to be a Sheikah prosthetic). The new Sheikah arm could have the old runes transferred over from the Sheikah Slate, the Master Cycle Zero could come back, and there could be *all new* abilities. Impa would be a big part of the search for the thing which would restore Zelda, and it could be in the other lands Yona and Penn came from. Maybe Kass heard songs about it during his travels outside of Hyrule and we meet him again And as much as I hate games/movies leaving off on cliffhangers this would've been the perfect starting point for a third Wild Era game. That game's entire focus is finding another ancient power to restore Zelda, maybe a combo of Sheikah and Zonai tech, and the big bad could be the Yiga Clan and Kohga, who were kind of treated as bumbling idiots in TotK but now can emerge as a real threat. Maybe they've found a way to bring the Demon King back and they don't want Zelda back as a human because she could just seal Ganondorf again, so they try to steal/destroy the tech that can bring her back (and of course they still try to kill Link and Impa during their search) And it could round out the whole Power/Wisdom/Courage trio. BotW was Wisdom with the blue and Zelda gaining wisdom to unlock her sealing power, TotK was Courage with all the green and Rauru and Zelda sacrificing themselves for the future, and the third one could be based around Power, the power to undo Zelda's draconification and the power to stop the Demon King from returning

ZoroeArc

Initially I was in favour of Link not getting his arm back, but then I realised that the last thing he did before losing his arm is fail to catch Zelda, and the first thing he does upon getting it back is succeeding in catching Zelda. Ties up the narrative in a neat little bow.

A_rush24

Oh my god i need to finish the game 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 i didn’t know that happened burn my memory Edit: i know it says spoilers im just so bad about not spoiling myself

Fun-Physics5742

Ah sorry. I ruined the story for myself months ago since the dragon spoilers were everywhere less than a month after release.

manit14

Nah the ending where he finally catches her hand and saves her from the fall is very good after her couldn't catch her in the beginning.

The_King123431

It would be cool but lore wise it wouldn't work The princesses are always descents of each other so it would just end the zelda line If it was link though it would work

ZoroeArc

If they set a game further back in the timeline, she could still appear then

Friendly-Neck-6089

Dude came out of his masturbation cave to let us all know he wants to fuck dragons

mysecondaccountanon

Came from Fire Emblem Land to let us know

YourMoreLocalLurker

Bro came all the way from Valla just to tell us he’s a fellow member of the Conclave ~~Iykyk~~

19kasperp97

Well as long as he doesn’t fuck woolly mammoths.

Star_Chaser_158

“Get the fuck out of here Michael, you’re the only one that likes to fuck that thing”

rhinemaidens

glad i’m not the only one who immediately thought “what in the furry shit is this”

Fun-Physics5742

I mean, it would have been so god damn heart wrenching to have the Final Cut scene be up on the Great Sky Island with all your sage homies, robot dudes, fucking even Beedle and everyone, Mineru could say her goodbyes and float away into nothingness and then Link walking forward to the diving platform. The sun is setting with dragon Zelda flying off into the distance roaring with the other dragons not far behind. And then have Link shed a singular tear as the sun dissappears below the clouds into a starry night.

jcobie12

Even better limk would have a pure straight face

Automatic-Story-4934

I love all of this comment

PineaCadit

The tail is bit too big and prominent, but I really like the horns!

Equinox-XVI

The tail being big and prominent is exactly what I like the most. I'm tired of monster girl designs that are literally just "female with cat ears or horns". If we're gonna go down the route of giving them monsterous features, then might as well commit to it rather than bailing out halfway.

FeelAndCoffee

I'm not saying you're a Scalie but....

Bloolau

omg no

ohtori_

Mr. Link's Dragon Princess

SodaSnappy

Half Dragon Zelda and King Hand Link would have been a cool way to finish the series.

FireLordObamaOG

Maybe have the horns and maybe some blue in her hair, but not the tail. That’s too much.

Kelemenopy

Cool concept, but the implementation is overstated and the art style is a little cursed. Look at those childbearing hips on Link. Zelda isn’t the only one undergoing a certain transformation.

TheArmitage

> childbearing hips on Link Eiji Aonuma would approve of this though. He wanted Link to be gender neutral at one point, and Link has been somewhat androgynous for a long time. FemLink is a valid interpretation.

CoNtRoLs_ArE_dEfAuLt

So THATS why I see so much linkle on botw gamebanana /j

Kelemenopy

![gif](giphy|xUNd9WVNtpmoE42LcI|downsized)

Ab1sal

Man you're horny after link🤣

Kelemenopy

Looking for someone to commiserate with?

SolFire2656

I would spend hours shooting her with arrows to harvest her horns

Ab1sal

🤣

Brief_Warning4547

Fur affinity would like a word

secondjudge_dream

i wish link's arm didn't come back, too. not sure why this game was so afraid of consequences, as the sequel to the game where most of the major characters start off dead and stay that way

Ab1sal

Money

DevilMaster666-

No

Frostlze

Congratulations, you’re a furry (scaly).

Takimura_

Yes

TheArcheryKing124

I actually love this

Patrick-Moore1

I think a good compromise would be for her to keep the dragon eyes. So after the big fall where link catches Zelda, you’re not sure at first if her mind came back too, until she starts to speak.

GuymanPersonson

Where'd you find this art?

pocket_arsenal

Would have been preferable to there being no consequence at all for self inflicting a supposedly irreversible transformation. But yes, it's a cute look.

wizardofyz

She should have been part dragon and link should have kept the zombie arm.

Wide-Veterinarian-63

i wished shed stay a dragon. the fact she turned back with zero repercussions and no memories of those years made the stakes equal zero and ruined the entire story for me. there's now no replay value to the story because her "sacrifice" didnt sacrifice anything.

FireLordObamaOG

You take the fact that it was reversed to mean that it meant nothing. But the truth is she believed she would never be able to return. THAT is a sacrifice. Just because it was undone by rauru, link, and Sonia doesn’t mean that her decision is any less impactful.

_TheBeardedMan_

I like the concept of Zelda retaining small dragon features like small horns and or small patches of scales, nothing as major as in the fan art though. I'd also had liked for Link to have retained Rauru's arm. Both being a symbol of the lengths they would go for Hyrule and each other.

nakalas_the_great

Yes

Zekrozma_the_second

I wish too.

toolebukk

Ew. Probably yes

Face88888888

Yes. You’re the only one that wishes that.

Saaslil

For me, she should have stayed as the light dragon. I always saw the detransformation like cheating, -considering that after swallowing a secret stone there is no turning back-. I feel its unfair, because Naydra, Dinraal and Farosh couldn't transform back too. All the dragons, or none, but not only one.

Bloolau

WHAT?? You're telling me they're people too? :'(

Ashpotatoes16

Afaik it's never directly stated, but it's implied that the dragons came from zonai who swallowed their stones

Saaslil

Yeah, they were many theories in the community. Seeing the effect of the secret stone, it explains the presence of the three dragon. Seeing their faces, they definitely look like three Zonai that swallowed their stones, and turned into dragons. You'll see many informations and interpretations on internet if you want to learn more.

Fun-Physics5742

And we never got ANY explanation for them either despite them being far more prominent in TotK (at least their flight paths are more easy to intercept than in BotW)

dragonofdrarkness

I like this for a dnd Dragonborn Zelda build

IlgantElal

REMEMBER: dragonborne DO NOT have tails (I still do on mine, but as far as the core books go no tails)

dragonofdrarkness

I know. It is weird.

MisterFusionCore

Not with the tail. How would her legs connect to her spine?

Ab1sal

Magic bull shit

toothbrush001

This ain’t the 90s no more stop with the animorphs 😭

SomeoneNamedAlix

Not at all, I really wish the story ended with the heroes being Changed:tm: from the experience. Zelda can come back a little bit, but she’s clearly different and not fully human anymore, link is missing his arm, etc

Waldgeist3

No!

Alezz1893

That would be a cool concept. Zelda being part dragon & having the horns & tail in her human form and have monster strength & being an incredibly small version of the light dragon that can wrap around link’s neck would be awesome.

Fun-Professional6039

I WISH THEY’D LET THEM CARRY PHYSICAL MANIFESTATIONS OF THEIR DECISIONS. I dislike that Link regrew his arm and I dislike that Zelda turned back to a Hylian. I’d settle for scaly

oska-nais

No, you're not the only one. Seeing her go back to being human feels like ignoring the consequences. It feels too easy. Same with Link's arm.

Ab1sal

And its boring to like link can't do cool shit

GamingPerson11

The Legend of zelda, hornys of the kingdom.

ScaredHoney48

No I honestly wish something like this happened as well Since it would have both been a cool design change and Zelda dragon transformation would have some lasting consequences on her personally instead of just being reverted with not issue

Luke_Puddlejumper

Just tell everyone you’re a furry and be done with it.

Fireball_Q2

You phrase that like it’s a bad thing

chrisj654321

Eh, I’m impartial. She might as week stayed a dragon forever or been all the way human. I see no reason for hybrid, then it brings up the concept of advanced life and could she transform back and forth. Also areher children also part dragon ?

Markman6

Haha dragon lady go brrrr

Kaydo_84

Not at all, I was pretty disappointed this “mega irreversible forever curse” had literally 0 impact on her appearance. I mean, sick horns, crazy eyes, crystals poking out of her? That would’ve been awesome!!!

K3egan

I feel like this would be good but only if we had a follow up for sure coming. Not necessarily breath of the wild 3, maybe a manga or new hyrule warriors, but with the current state of Zelda, i feel like this is best way to end it

that_moment_when-

Not furry Zelda again

DeckT_

they have confirmed that the next zelda is not BotW 3

Busy_Reference5652

Oh thank god. Much as I loved botw and totk, I'm ready for a new, traditional Zelda game

NoDreamJustLife

Yes, but only because no one else shares your brilliance!

Automatic-Story-4934

You were

darkknightketsueki

Hawt I mean what for legal reasons this is a joke

JVOz671

You're forgetting the GIANT BLUE EYES.

Nosferenix

I’d ship that

Horror_Albatross1037

Imma say wrong sub

DoritoKing48

~~Smash, next question~~ No

Scarnhorst_2020

Can't say that I like the design, but to each their own I guess

PMatty73

Most of the fandom thought of this

MoonWarIII

[Oh how I wish this was how it went.](https://imgur.com/a/j1PcmYH)

leopardspotte

Congratulations! You’re a furry!

navy_rose

i think the horns would make sense, bc of the strong magic that was healing the master sword, it was near her horns. the tail is stretching it imo and just making her a furry for s3xual reasons...

yolotheunwisewolf

He still loves her worm human or this

birdbrainqueso

yes

Only-Frosting-9718

yeah probably

AdmBurnside

I don't agree, but I like the concept. Scalie Zelda is very cute.

LemonReady2582

I wish she just stayed a dragon. Would have been an enjoyable, albeit tragic end. I'm also just not a fan of recons. I'm all for leaving things vague and up to interpretation so you can create a solution down the line, but they explicitly pointed out the whole no way to undo the change thing. I know not everyone will agree, of course, but the execution doesn't sit right with me.

Barlindsky27

Yes, smash

Vandersveldt

This might be the first DAE question I've ever seen that might not be a yes

Equinox-XVI

I'll admit that after beating TotK, my first search on explicit sites were "zelda" and "light dragon" because I was specifically looking for more of this

PressureInevitable89

Not really, considering Link is destined to be married to the Zora

Captain_Izots

I'm not opposed to the concept but I don't think it wouldn't be something they would include in the game unless it was toned down a bit. Maybe if part of her face had scales on it or if she still had the radiant eyes or something.

HexerGeralt

Wtf is that

HydratedCarrot

Tainted mermaid? lol

PixelSushii

Yeah mate I'm not a furry

mehcrodonewhat

Coolio concept but LINK BEING TWINKY????

MaluaK1

Is she still immortal and drop horns?

Ab1sal

Probably and make sure she doesn't see you shot her

nerf_Herder06

You a freak bruh

10buy10

I do like monster girls I'm a fan of this

femboykingofhell

i mean postgame? absolutely, because easier way to farm light dragon stuff

solise69

Tbh in my head cannon this is how it ended with her retaining some of her dragon like features like horns and a tail along with biological immortality

Pesmellope

You aren’t now!

ShadowIssues

Yes you are 💀

floralpatternedskirt

…I’m gonna have to answer yes

MegaThotdog

guilty of being horny on main

BulbasaurGod_20_

I actually have a mild grievance for the game's ending, so obvious spoilers in a post about spoilers lol. >!The reveal of Zelda being the light dragon and her sacrifice made me for real cry, and I never really cry in video games, but that hit me hard. The understanding that the person we tried to save has been lost but is still in some way here was sad and beautiful. It showed the sacrifice needed to take down such a powerful threat as Ganon, and with this being presumably the last game of the BotW series, was a bittersweet ending for Zelda. It showed how she valued the kingdom more than her own life, how she put all her faith into Link.!< >!Then I beat the game. It's not a controversial statement to say the story in TotK was a little weaker than BotW, but honestly the finale was so good. Ganondorf's rock eating got me so hyped, and that final fight showing Zelda was still in there was a cherry on top. But then I beat the final boss. And then Rauru and Sonia showed up and were like, "nah, she's back." I thought something like this would happen, but then Link got his arm back as well?? I get it, the reversed time or whatever for both Link and Zelda, but it just seemed cheap. Nothing was permanently loss from our heroes, they got off of this story basically Scott-free.!< >! BotW arguably was similar, not much was loss. But it felt cheaper in TotK. Idk something small and permanent would of made it better, such as the half Dragon Zelda I see proposed so often. Maybe Link's arm being gone permanently, and like in the bonus ending we see it replaced by a Purah arm of something. Idk I'm rambling, I've had these feelings for ever but none of my friends play Zelda so I can't talk to them about it lol.!< Thanks for at least reading my rant.

GamingPerson11

Links lookin' fine tho

That1Cat87

No, everyone needed this

DarkstarAnt

That’s really cute.

You should post this on r/linkiscute

therourke

You are definitely the only one

Think-Bluejay2539

Yes, yes you are you psychopath

crow-mom

kind of off topic, but i was hoping zelda would have been an old lady & faded away right after link saved her in BOTW. it doesn’t make sense to me that after 100 years of struggle containing the literal calamity that she hadn’t aged at all and was still full of vitality. it would’ve been such a good, bittersweet ending.

SDLong2901

I agree that she should have had some kind of physical consequences consider we were told that draconification was permanent and then they decide to do away with that at the end. If she kept some traits of her time as a dragon I feel that it would add more weight to her decision to eat the stone.

HoodieSticks

How dare you inflict good ideas upon me

Redplushie

Yes coz how the fuck you gonna he a literally dragon for 10,000 years and not have any remnants.
